October 2024 and I’m still so much impressed by this beast. Just needs a bit of shocks adjustments to decrease rebound (or other tires) I want one more and more
I have the original model of the helion and I love it. I actually choose to keep it over my upgraded granite. I think it drove better with the sway bars.
Hey man, just wanted to say that your review of this RC was the reason I bought one! Can't wait for the rain to stop so I can get out and rinse this around the park. Keep up the good work.
Seems pretty solid, love the sound of a flat landing. Perfect basher for the price. Landing almost every time on the wheels. Definitely checking this one out. Keep it up👍
Hi mate, oh yes this is definitely a great bang for the bucks truck, I was tempted myself awhile back but got the granite in the end, but I also highly recommend this to people who have a mid range budget but want a great bashing truck..
Loving mine was surprisinged how fast it is although a stick got stuck in one of the drive shalfs and break it yesterday and they out of stock hopefully won't have to wait to long. Great video 👍
I have to say, i find Kevin Talbot very entertaining, but id much rather see the cars being used in a way that most of us have to because we cant afford to repair them or buy new ones every 5 mins! Nice bit of bashing, looks so easy when someone else is doing it. I know the jlb cheetah is not particularly new but any chance of getting and showing one?(if you havent already?) They are crazy fast and pretty damn good for what they cost.(Tyres are hopeless tho!)
Thanks mate.... Kev tests everything past it's limit... that's his way of doing things and it gives us a good look at what not to do if we want ours to survive lol. I like to push my stuff to 'sensible' levels, but sometimes I get a bit carried away! I've not tested the JLB... but have tested the V3 Bison, which is pretty similar. Awesome trucks for the money, and very fast!
@@Shadows-RC It’s easy to get annoyed with him, but at the end of the day he’s found his ‘niche’ and that’s all good with me. The difference with Kev compared to some other RUclipsrs that destroy stuff is that he repairs all his and goes again. So it’s not destroy it and throw it away. I prefer to take my stuff home in one piece lol... I haven’t got time to repair stuff haha (and I don’t enjoy wrenching!)
Cool video, gotta say I agree with the other comments about being a little more sympathetic with them... I couldn't afford to just trash it either... Looking to expand my RC collection and after too much thinking eventually bought a TRX4 but this will deffo be a contender in the future for a fun basher! when funds allow of course. 👍
Based on your recommendation, I bought one of these, last week. I didn’t even finish the battery pack before I broke the right front control arm. . Fortunately I was able to pick up a set of RPM arms and will be replacing them this weekend
takes quite a bit for it chassis blap! nice! a bit bouncy on the suspension but it looks like somethin' i need to grab. wonder how well this stands up to the Granite BLX
Nice ! Team associated has been over shadowed by the likes of T/A . I’m sure it all has to do with the $ difference in marketing. But I think there products are just as good. The Rival in this video reminds me of my HNR Mars Pro. Similar characteristics all the way around, fast, tough, (with the exception of cheepish wheel hexes that have a tendency to round the hex into a circle), very hi strung, durable, wheelie machine! And seriously underrated. As usual great stuff coming from you!
Im on the fence with this and the new big rock. Also seen two firma motors fry. Dunno if it was the mesh, or if the electronics aren't ready yet for the rig yet. Time will tell
✌🏻😎🏴Great video dude. Handles better than the bigrock but you may have meant granite. I would still recommend the granite or the bigrock over the MT10. That MT10 is one of the best handling stock monster trucks out there. Awesome if you want something to vs others in a MT track race or something but it’s not as tough as others for tricks etc
Yeah, I only have the Big Rock....so not ideal to compare. Price difference was/is the only decider for me. But the Granite is certainly sitting right up there a one of the best 1/10's
@@TomleyRC ✌🏻😎🏴Do you know anyone with a team associated pro 4 sc10? What year did the MT rival get released? Will they update the MT after the release of the team associated pro 4 sc10?
How do thay do it for the money? After all, Team Associated is a venerable brand, and not a name I...er...associate with cheap products. Great end montage!
more efficient mass production processes would be my best guess, their name has always been good, so make a good product reasonably priced and make it up on the volume, instead of getting mired into litigation with competitors like a big manufacturer with a couple X's in their name seems to love doing so much. (but hey what do I know?)
@@modelnutty6503 I´ve bought a product from the big manufacturer in question, and certainly don´t dare mention that the chassis snapped or that the "waterproof" ESC let the smoke out the first time I got it wet...perhaps if they spent less on litigation they might be able to afford to follow Associated´s example!
Just got one of these, love it except for the steering servo. Specifically the servo saver, it seems too loose... I tightened it up to max, and it will still sometimes fails to give me proper steering response. Any tips?
Big Rock & Granite are both way up there for the best 1/10... but the price difference is the decider here... £250 Vs £340.. but if price is not an issue, the Arrma's are the ones to get

Wow for the price it looks like the best thing to buy... compared to the HOSS and MAXX it’s almost half the price. I don’t see a lot of support for it here in the Netherlands, but then again it’s like a brick. Should be fine I guess.
What would you recommend for something 1/10 or smaller and pretty tough on or off-road? Have an a959-b but it doesn't ever seem to hold up very long and I'm tired of repairing it. I'm mainly crashing into things which I appreciate is not ideal but would be good to get something more able to handle my driving skills.
I too had an a959 and got fed up in they constant cycle of it breaking, ordering bits from China, waiting for them to arrive only for something else to shortly after. I bought an Absima ab3.4 for my son and an Arrma Big Rock for me. The Absima hasn't faired much better than the a959, it breaks easily, only saving grace is bits can be sourced from the UK. @@supernoodle48 yeah I might get an Arma Big Rock but it's expensive and low priority. Besides, the technical challenge of solving the issues is cheap and kinda fun.
This is 1 of the few times that I have to disagree with you. I'd rather spend the $80 extra,,Arrma is way more durable and dependable. I run RCs every day and I can tell you that the skate park and the back wet landscape full of clay and really hard compact clay, with murderous ruts will have you doing the walk of shame. Florida back country...enough said. Lol

I have been in the RC world since 87. My point is that T.A. use to make quality RCs at any price range and it's like they jumped on the Traxxas philosophy of sell it at ready to break prices to sell off the upgrades. Their formula for the plastic that they use on their lower priced vehicles has gone to crap,it's too hard therefore making it brittle. That platform should have been a short course truck. Definitely not a basher more of something to set up for racing at the park with friends. If they would have promoted it as such ok but a monster truck? No way. I used to believe and swear by T.A. brother.
