Nice video! I was the videographer and a TO for 2GG while we were around. It's fun to look back on these times. Just to clarify, the 2GG Championship was the finale event in December to the Championship series. The tournament in this video was actually called 2GGC: GENESIS Saga which was the first saga of the series.
@@Senayoshy the craziest part about the nerf on his nair is they didn’t reduce the hit box or anything, they actually changed the animation entirely so that his arm doesn’t fully extend when Cloud is twisting it around his body. Nintendo has that much insane attention to detail.
@@thelastskywalker437 yeah it does, but what I’m saying is they didn’t nerf it just by reducing the hit box size, they changed the animation, which in turn reduced the hit box size. Nintendo had such weird silly attention to detail they actually changed the animation. His arm is fully extended in smash 4, but in ultimate his arm is bent. That’s what I’m referring to.
More specifically, the animation change moved the hitboxes closer to Cloud because of the sword's new position. Up air is also the subject of a funny nerf: the main thing that was changed about the move is that the first active frame is removed. Such a simple change, but that is all it takes to take a move that is strong in both juggling AND approach, to only being strong in juggling.
It comes true. Use Character Creation and give Cloud at least one "Smooth Lander" badge. Modified landing lag is still a bit longer than in Ultimate, but it feels deadly broken since it's Smash 4 Cloud afterall😈
They both mained cloud in smash 4 then in ultimate they mained different characters but have to face sparg0 the ultimate cloud. They also have beaten sparg0 and have lost to sparg0. Man time really fly by.
@@kyurei4478 I disagree. I've never once considered sponsors when observing player rivalries. I always thought commentators saying "[SPONSOR] team kill" was just a playful crack.
@@fuducker2 Well that's fair, I never said it would be the case for everyone. It's not my case either I actually think more like you, I never consider sponsors. As a viewer I don't really care about teams. I'm only happy about what it can bring to the players in term of stability. Some say it's "boring" when two Moist players fight because of that for exemple.
Watching this makes me wish I had kept up with smash through my childhood. Smash 64 came out when I was a kid, and it was my favorite game for years. I was so good with Fox. I would have my friends 3v1 me for a decent challenge and still smoke all of them, lol. I was meant to be an old man playing melee for 20 years, but I got into sports and didn't even know melee was out or the other smash games. Didn't play another smash game until like 2 years ago with ultimate.
Bruh, as someone who has kept up with the series all along and tried to be competitive, I tell you it isn't any different. I'm still pretty ass (I still smoke casuals but competitive is another beast entirely).
@diegootero6095 I feel you. I can just tell I would have stayed a melee player if I picked that up when it came out. All the things that I complain about from ultimate are not there in melee lol. (Mostly roster size and cheese) But melee has been out for too long for me to bother to try it now. Ultimate is fun, though, and I go to locals occasionally and do decent. I just know if I was introduced into competitive smash during the melee era I would have nose dived into it for the long haul lol

Ultimate brainwashed the hell out of me. I was wondering why limit lasted long until i realized there was no limit timer in sm4sh 😭
