There are many safer places to get a mount (pony). Fast travel there. Then fast travel back and call your mount. But you might already have one. Scroll through your D-pad.
@@Blairsette I tried testing it to show you but my D-pad always had a mount available. Each time I called it I killed it. But my D-pad always had another for me to call. But I know that has not always been the case if your mount is killed. But that could be a skill level thing; my skill is maxed. Distance doesn't matter. In fact, there are places your mount can't go. So I go on foot until I reach a place they can go and call my mount. So, you can fast travel to more than one place to override a mount so you have a spare. I found you can't override more than one in the same place.
