im playing through HFW right now and i lowkey miss how simple zero dawn was. But i also love optimizing my loadouts in HFW for crazy damage. This series is just amazing!
Both games provide unique gameplay experiences which is in my opinion a great thing! The fact they took the core formula of Zero Dawn and made it its own unique thing in Forbidden West is just mind blowing to me, while also preserving the original in its own way.
@@omelfilipI personally love how lean ZD is! FW sometimes feels like it suffers from a bit more bloat and the fights can force you on the defensive a little more often, especially with what they did to the stagger. I love both games but there's something so incredibly fluid about ZD, it feels like a tightly knit lean game with minimal bloat so it'll always be my favorite!
I agree, and thanks to the remaster, I can float between both games, appreciating each one’s strengths without having to suffer the graphical downgrade.
So happy they added the apply look functionality! As well as your holy grail, the auto gather. Nice to see them put in that work after the fact, wasn’t expecting that!
It’s nice of the devs to bring the ability to hang outfit appearance from HFW to ZD, but it’s screwed up. You not only get the appearance, but also the inherent properties of that armor. It’s most obvious with the Banuk Werak outfits: if you apply some other armor’s appearance, you don't get any healing. Conversely, if you apply a Banuk Werak outfit appearance to some other armor, it gains healing over time. As another data point, I have maxed-out stealth armor, and if I apply some other armor’s appearance to it, I get noticeably noisier when running.
My man, your content is simply the best. I have several hundred hours on both Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, and somehow you keep giving amazing tips to keep the games fresh. Thanks again for all the work you do with this channel.
Hey Brian! Thank you for your kind words 🙏😄 Glad you enjoy the content and find them helpful! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours my friend 🙂
I really love that you're getting milage out of handling coils. I never really noticed just how much differently playing above 60 fps on PC could feel from OG PS4 until I started playing with the dps they can add. It feels ridiculously satisfying ahhhhh
When playing NG+ if you upgrade your icerail in both playthroughs it can hold a 3rd coil, and when stacked with triple 51% damage coils allows for up to 3000 damage in a single shot.
Out of the Banuk Shamannistic Weapons I think the Improved Forge Fire is my favourite due to how strong Fire is in HZD. The Stormslinger is a bit "too dangerous" to be practical and I never gotten to grips with the Improved Icerail's Ice cannon as at least to me, it felt way slower and lacking the range of the Banuk Powershot Bow. The Tearblaster is great for tearing components but you have to be a bit too close to machines for it to be useful (and I don't like being up close, specially when dealing with the larger machines. If dealing with Scorchers, Frostclaws and Fireclaws I try to capitalize on the fact that on normal difficulty, you can do large pauses in between shots and chip away at the machines' HP without them going aggro and attacking you
Highly impressed that we're still getting your fresh top-notch HZD content...in 2024! Gonna play the whole franchise again after I finish up my current. Best believe this is going in my playlist for that time.
Hey Furious! Good to hear from you friend 😄 And thanks. Glad to hear you’re enjoying the vids. The remaster is great! Enjoy your next playthrough and Merry Christmas!
In my experience, at least in the OG version of HZD, the unupgraded stormslinger didn't damage me. Idk if this was a bug or intentional, but it made it even more useful. You can also get this with barely any combat (the first frozen wilds quest only has one mandatory combat segment at a control tower, the rest can be stealthed through).
Awesome tips again 👍 I personally love the sharpshot bow on HZD. . . It is my main damage weapon. . . As per my exp with this weapon I did not find it as a slow weapon. . . This is probably because I was able to maximize the damage and handling for this bow. Hunter bows is still the fastest but the Sharpshot bow is not far behind if it coiled properly.
I went back to my save file. Ng plus hardest difficulty, weapons and armor will give you 1 additional coil and weave slot. Eg. Adept Striker Bow, Power shot, Champion, rope caster grants 4 slots instead of 3 Adept Ice Rail, ForgeFire, StormSlinger grants 3 slots instead of 2
I manged to combine shieldweaver shield and health regeneration of the banuk werak chieftain armor by selecting shieldwever armor with the look of the banuk werak chieftain armor. Tried on HZD Remastered NG+. It gets lost when restatrting from save or dieing.
where do we find the special coils and weaves like the Pristine Weapon Coil? im doing a new game from scratch with the remaster and i forgot where i got those
Awesome video and explanation! ^_^ Makes me realise that you've not really got a truly challenging scenario on your videos yet, as you have mastered the dynamics and relationships needed perfectly... How about completing the game, on hard, with only a very low spec set of weapons, coils/weaves and armour, rather than using the best sets of things? :)
@@ArktixOfficial Too easy haha Run a poll on your community page with some truly difficult ideas for you to run through, like handicap to green only weapons/armour or no upgrades on your skills beyond the required ones etc lol xD
We will certainly get Horizon 3 eventually, but first we'll get the Online Project. Could be announced in early 2025 and likely release later in 2025 or maybe 2026. I'm hoping the Online Project will give us ongoing Horizon content before and after Horizon 3!
How do you play these games and never get bored i wish i want to play horizon again like its my firest run through i want the thrill thats why i want the next game
Try a build around the drill spike, it’s crazy how broken it is. Carried me pretty much the entire game. It applies the stagger effect every time is hit which as it drills its hitting a ton of times, so essentially you are perma staggering all machines.
i played both zero dawn and forbidden west but what yo uguys still doing once you finished the game? surely you arent playing hundreds of hours still? why for waht?
Arktix, these particular tips are fine in a vacuum. Unfortunately, I would not consider them particularly useful, especially on UltraHard. The stormslinger and tearblast weapon classes are practically useless in the Frozen Wilds simply because a new machine variant, which I won't spoil, are specifically resistant to shock and require much more frost buildup. These machines also tend to attack in groups. The Banuk Champion bow is only useful for shocking certain enemies in the main game. It becomes virtually useless against the new machines in the frozen wilds because of their resistance to frost, shock and berserk/deranged/corruption. Thanks for the effort with this guide nonetheless.

The ice rail became my favorite of the three Frozen Wilds weapons, Banuk!! It was a great help against the fire claws.
For the frozen wilds I recommend 70 for stealth. They detect you much faster if its lower than that.
Whenever I use the Stormslinger, I equip the Oseram Sparkworker outfit to protect myself from the overcharge
Awesome! I asked Nixxes few times in support to implement the ”apply look” feature, really stoked they did that!

Yup. Even though there are weapons like this, the meat of HZD is just you and your bow(s). It's the definition of "less is more".

Awesome vid as always
Hey thanks!
the banuk cheiftan is my favorite outfit in the game it just looks drippy and i dont have use my healing out of combat
It's definitely a cool one! The passive healing is a great perk.
another great video! I had no idea the two banuk outfits would passively heal you, that's cool!
All these “sniper” weapons are good if there is some distance between you and machines

Fun fact: fire bombs on the sling doesn’t attract attention so it’s good stealth weapon
Nearly 1200 Tear on Rope break.
With such a nice explanation of the Stormslinger, i think it´s time for the Specter Gun in hfw.
My EDC is, Banuk precission bow on top. Lodge Explosion Sling on bottom. Expert War bow on the left and Banuk hunter bow on the right.

Arktix you need to know this, in hfw redhew quarry in the daunt there’s a crain that you can hop on and it gives you a free lift ,it’s at the very top

Getting ready to play Zero Dawn again, so I have to watch all your videos!
I was just using the 3 Banuk bows, Icerail and Shieldweaver, UH+ became the new Story difficulty haha
Nice vid
Thank you!
Is there an information tab on all the types of ammo?
I love the background music
where do we find the special coils and weaves like the Pristine Weapon Coil? im doing a new game from scratch with the remaster and i forgot where i got those
For the storm slinger i just stay at 3-4 bars

challenged myself plenty in past playthroughs haha. Did an ultra hard run with no purple gear at one point.

How dp you make the game thrilling again like the first play through how are you not bored
Its the zappy gun isnt it? It is I knew it. Its so fucking good
Sweet!
Looks like I have never made 5 shots from Stormslinger 😂
Best armour for zero dawn is the shield weaver
yeah but not for UH ofc 😪
@Yahya_Eissa agree. But if you're like me who just loves to explore. Then shield weaver is the best.
hello there, thank you for this video clip. maybe you can help me. my tear blaster has only 50 tear damage but yours has 100. why is that so?
I’m still having trouble trading in the tokens
Do you think there will be a new game or dlc

I love drill spikes! This video was for Zero Dawn though. No spike throwers in Zero Dawn.
They arent broken
i played both zero dawn and forbidden west but what yo uguys still doing once you finished the game?

new game plus or a fresh playthrough. the gameplay and the story are compelling enough.
