There are those who resort to its more extreme teachings as their justification for acts of violence. The Bible also
contains similar sorts of examples but it can be said that Christianity has moved away from them to its well-known
reputation for its message of mercy and forgiveness. I'm more of an agnostic myself but can readily appreciate
the Ten Commandments. In my view Islam hasn't caught up and appears more interested in imposing its ideology
according to opportunity and circumstance.
@@songsmith31a Really? How come you can only appreciate the ten commandments? If you grew up in Britain you grew up in a Christian society and are bound by laws which are directly descended from those ten commandments. Being agnostic to me means you've got your head in the sand.

As for the Ten Commandments, at least they served to offer a useful guide for the most part.
This man is missing the point...no matter how odious you find a person's views, they are within their rights to express them. Once you start condemning people for their opinions, where do you stop? It's one of those slippery slope scenarios, so as long as the speech does not incite violence and break the law, leave it alone.

As per usual I agree with Matt - the left has been calling those it does not agree with Nasties, 'Ists and 'Phobes all the time. Its okay for them to say it but not the other way around!
No doubt some Reform candidates have made remarks some people might regard as unsavory or a bit loony, but there is no comparison between them and how awful and directly anti-civilizational some Labour candidates have been.
None of the Reform candidates have endorsed calls for genocide, for example, or suggested that rape victims should just keep quiet in the name of "communal harmony". None of them are trying to legislate what people are or are not "allowed" to say, under punishment of jail time. Or impoverish poor people in the name of poorly thought out understandings of geology. Or sell the country off in the name clout hunting. Infinitely better.
