    Love the video! Just wondering if you need a 4x4 for this boat? Also do you know if this boat can fit in the garage

    • @Getreed1119
      @Getreed1119  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the props!! Definitely don’t need a 4x4 but it does help considerably at certain ramps. I have launched with a front wheel drive, rear wheel drive and a four wheel drive with this boat. The front wheel was nice due to the drive wheels out of the most slippery part of the ramp but the downside was all the weight shift to the rear with the boat on the trailer. This would cause the wheels to spin on steeper wet ramps. The rear wheel was a bit trickier since the drive wheels were actually in the water. Of the three, this one was the most concerning for me. I was very confident with my four wheel and never felt remotely worried about being able to get the job done.
      Unfortunately, it did not fit in my garage, but my garage is just under the standard length. It should fit in most standard size garages. This will require air to be let out of the tires to clear the height of the door. The only other issue would be where the garage door opener bar attaches to the garage door. Will definitely need to be on either side of that to clear the windshield. Again, thanks for the watch and kind comment!

    Awesome video! I think I saw a ZUP board there at the end. What are your thoughts on it? I have been looking at them for the kids and anyone that is newer to water sports

    • @Getreed1119
      @Getreed1119  2 года назад

      Thank you very much!! It was a Zup, good catch! Love the Zup and highly recommend it not only for the kids, but the adults also. It’s very easy to get up on and a huge conference builder for the kids. We had an 8 year old up on it in a matter of only a handful of attempts. Expensive but by far our best purchase for the boat to date!

      @@Getreed1119 Awesome 👏 thanks for the reply. It sounds like this is exactly what I’m looking for. I have been checking them out but I was stumbling over the price a little. But I think I’m going to pull the trigger. I’m trying to bridge the gap between tubing and wakeboarding for newbies I take out and this sounds like the ticket.

    • @Getreed1119
      @Getreed1119  2 года назад

      I’d like to try wakeboarding but feel like it would be a huge expense to get the boat set up correctly. I’m sure I’ll eventually get there but need to let my bank account take a breather.

      @@Getreed1119 Is the Lowrance strictly for fish finding? the 195S has depth finder and water temp already as stock. correct?

    • @Getreed1119
      @Getreed1119  2 года назад

      Correct, the 195s does have the have a very good mapping system and depth finder. The main reason as you said is for the fish finder (I can’t find them on my own, lol) but as an added bonus, structure scanning and a little better all around mapping.

    • @Getreed1119

      Good question, I’m curious myself how different it will be. I only got good enough to not make a complete ass of myself at the ramps. I think it will be good to know the difference but learning it the way you will ultimately have it setup probably makes the most since.

      @@Getreed1119 Nice video. Just a quick comment on Thrust Vectors. I have owned two Yamaha jet boats. My first was a 2017 AR210 and now I own a 2019 AR195. I put thrust vectors on my AR210 after about a year of ownership and a few unpleasant dock hits. I found they did help a little, but not as much as I had hoped for. With the changes Yamaha made on the newer boats I just run the stock setup and it works just fine in my opinion. In the end I found it just takes experience and practice to dock a Yamaha Jet Boat. I don't really think about it anymore. I am sure everyone will have a different opinion, so that is just my experience with them. Thanks again for the video!

  • @srakfleming5888
    @srakfleming5888 2 года назад +1

    I have the same exact boat on order. Do you have any after market accessories on it to make it spin like that at the dock? Or is it all stock Yamaha keel only?

    • @Getreed1119
      @Getreed1119  2 года назад +2

      You are gonna love the boat! Nothing aftermarket on it. I’m still getting use to the lack of steering at idle. The turns are done by turning the wheel, adding a short burst of power and quickly going back to neutral. And doing the same in reverse with opposite steering input. I am far from good at it but am working g on it. Thanks for checking it out!

    • @srakfleming5888
      @srakfleming5888 2 года назад +2

      @@Getreed1119 Wow. You spun it in a complete circle. Looks like you are real good at it. : ) So you can spin it like that with just throttle and reverse? I'm really happy to hear that. Are you considering thrust vectors or anything like that? Yea - i'm getting really psyched about it. Reading and watching every video i can. Keep posting videos with it. Dealer says my Black 195S won't be in until spring. :( How did you get yours so quick?

    • @Getreed1119
      @Getreed1119  2 года назад +2

      @@srakfleming5888 Thanks, that was the best out of many, lol. Yes, with the right amount of forward/neutral/reverse/wheel turn, you can spin within its own footprint. Gets a bit trickier with wind and wake but I'm sure it can be done (by someone else). Doing this in an empty slip has proven to be extremely helpful to me.
      The real test, however, is docking with everyone watching. That seems to be where I forget everything.
      I was also told Spring of 2022. I just happened to be #1 on the list and my dealer received one of the first ones. Very happy I had a chance to get some time in this season. I will no doubt do the thrust vectors. Seems like most people that have them are very happy with them.

      @@Getreed1119 Thats awesome. Good for you. I think I will get them also. Sounds like they are well worth it. Is there anything else you’ve learned work well on it? Find good fender?
      Thanks alot.

    • @Getreed1119
      @Getreed1119  2 года назад +2

      @@srakfleming5888 I purchased two of the Mission Sentry fenders because I liked the idea of being able to thread a dock line through the hole in the fender. I also liked how easy it looked to put on and take off. After using both, I like the regular fenders way better. And they are lots cheaper! Maybe that will change as I use them more but they don’t seem to work as well in real life vs what there video sold me on.
      The fenders I went with are TaylorMade. They have tons of color choices and the blue match’s the boats blue line really well. They are a very good quality fender. They are a soft compound and don’t leave any marks on the boat (or the fender) and have held up to my abusive learnings curve. I’m sure it’s probably not just a TaylorMade thing, but the air can be fine-tuned in the fender to suit your preferences on how tight they are.
      The far aft cleat is pretty much useless for a fender. You can see in the video, I wrapped the rear most fender around the knob that holds the ski tower up. At some point (maybe over the long winter) I am going to add two fender cleats just behind the ski tower (one on each side). Here is a video of Smok’n Jay putting one in. ruclips.net/video/ovlKOr1Qh6o/видео.html. A bit nervous about drilling but I really like that cleat and would un-hillbilly what I am doing now.
