I believe having the bungee rope in the front of the boat is a better way to anchor because you can let the boat out into the water more when not being used which will avoid low water tide issues when away from the boat for long period of time.
I prefer to use the bungee on the front, and pull the boat to the beach, anchor the stern, and then let it back out. Works better that way IMO. I like the stern deeper in the water, about 6-8 feet. Pull the boat in when I need to.
@@SurgeWorld I also connect my anchor rope with the bungee. If the anchor gets stuck, I'll have better luck retrieving the anchor with the rope. I just make sure the rope is longer so it doesn't interfere with the bungee action. Good luck!

If the lake/body of water becomes rough, the stern, being a flat surface can and may take on water swamping the boat!! The hull on most boats is deeper than the stern. Just sayin'!! The Anchor Buddy attaches to the anchor or anchor line and is meant to pay out the vessel from shore keeping the stern, outdrive or bow from damage!! Bow out or in, your preference the anchor and Anchor Buddy would go on the open water side of the vessel!
Yes, I have tried both ways. When I leave the boat attendant the front of the boat is towards the open waters while using the buddy anchor to pull the boat away from the shore. When I’m using the boat or I just beached for short period or time so kids can play in the sand then I use the buddy anchor this way. Keep in mind this is a jet boat.
Sorry man but the bungee goes on the anchor. The point of it is to keep the hull off the shore and u pull it in when u need to. I usually keep mine about 8ft from shore to make sure other wakes don’t rock it and hit bottom. It’s also good if u are going in and out through out the day in the same spot. U just attach it to a buoy and it stays in place because of the tension it shoots straight down. Making it harder to get caught in someones prop while you’re out on the water
Nice! Must be very shallow waters? I used to drive up on the beach with front of the boat, have little kids and it makes it a bit dangerous when they get in and out the boat. Plus it scratches the boat overtime.

I have tried in the past having the 15' to 50' blue stretching rope on the front of the boat and it works okay, not the best. I think it would work allot better if the anchor-chain was attached to the blue rope. Another issue with the blue rope is it has to be perfect in length, most of the time i found it is not enough rope and the bungee rope is very tight and the boat wants to launch back into the water. But having the blue bungee towards the shoreline the boat is always snug to the beach and it makes it very easy access, when the water raises the boat stays snug to the shoreline and when the water lowers the boat floats into the water because the bungee rope lets the boat float then it returns back to the shoreline, otherwise regular rope would not let it float out. Once you have bigger waves from other boats the boat will float into the water about 2-3 feet for few minutes tell the water is calms down then your boat will return to the shore-line. Main thing by having bungee rope on the back is your boat will always be snug to the shoreline and its very easy access, makes it very safe and easy for the kids.

It does very well! I’m actually very surprised how well it handles choppy waters, I take this boat most of the time to Columbia river right between Washington and Oregon. These new designs are well done and can handle choppy waters.
I suppose there is two ways to have the boat setup. Ether it can float about 15’ away from the shore, or it can be up tight. I have a jet boat so not worried about being to close the shore.

Yea there is allot of hidden gems all over Columbia. On the side note, look into getting an app “tides near me” it’s free. But will help you understand the tides. I did get stock in that same exact spot, was stranded for about 7 hours. Once that happens best thing is to wait it out, the tide came back around 11pm.
I believe it’s like 10lbs, if I had to guess. Yamaha dealer had a kit for like $120, came with an anchor, 100’ rope and 3’ chain. Fits perfectly in the anchor compartment. This anchor works really well!!! I tried other anchors from sportsman’s and it was all waste of time and money. This set up works great. I use it an Columbia river all the time, never had any issues. Do you have 3’ chain? That’s the main thing is that chain, it keeps the anchor laying flat. Once anchor digs into sand/dirt it’s almost impossible to pull it side ways, only up. And most of the time I have to use the boats forward momentum motion to get the anchor unstuck.

With all we have lost the last couple years, my family is going to have a boat to enjoy.
First there's no such thing as a rope on a vessel, it's a line. Second I have the same Danforth style anchor with 100' 0f line & chain I bought in May from Amazon for under $60.00. Third and most important: Never ever beach a boat with the stern to the shore! Remember the deepest part of the boat is the stern where the prop is. With tide and or wakes you risk damaging your lower unit and you can become stuck . Plus it increases the risk of sand ,pebbles or other debris clogging the cooling system. Otherwise you did well but next time do it in reverse.
I can call it rope or a line in my boat. Second congratulations on buying 5lb anchor kit for boat size 10-18 ft currently $58.99 on Amazon. My is 13lb made for 20-32ft boats currently $94.99 on Amazon. Third my boat is a jet boat it’s designed for shallow waters and I don’t run the boat while it’s parked on shore nothing will get clogged up.

Jet boat or not it can still be damaged while pounding on a shoreline and/or become stuck. There are people that will see this video and may put their boat and even themselves in harm's way. Thanks for sharing informational tips. There are many different ways to beach the boat depending on location. The way I demonstrated in the video is more for anchor buddy system, except the anchor buddy pulls the boat towards the shore, makes it easy and safe for kids to get in and out the boat. It is not intended for long parking.

How does the 195S do in choppy water. Our campground is on a big river in VA and it can get choppy with the wind.
