Yes, it makes the pool water level on the liner squares too, but makes it easy for a smooth liner surface when your walking around the pool without any dips or holes.

Wow looks amazing! I just drained mine so I can level out the ground. I bought a 2x4 but I just need the rebar so I can level out the ground. I noticed some people didn’t use sand but I think it’s best to use it! Thank you for the vid!

its pretty much how I did mine 9 years ago, time for a new one because of 1 bad winterizing... Always let the water out below the lowest valve no matter what some pool guy tells you.

Can you please give me a complete list of what you guys used and how much you used for your awesome landscaping around the pool. We are getting ready to set up the same pool in our backyard and love how simple and clean everything looks. Thanks.
I am not sure you if you noticed or not but this is not our landscaping anymore. We do not recommend the Rubber Mulch. It was a mess and it ended up causing a lot of issues including mold, getting tucked into the pool edges by nature, flying all over the place during storms and when you cut grass or weed eat anywhere grass, leaves, pine straw and everything else gets in it and then you have to figure out how to it out. We used Vigoro edging and spikes from Home Depot and all the stepping stones came from Lowes. I recommend what we have now which is rocks. We will have a new video coming soon in the next week. I would recommend you see what the area looks like now. Since this video we have a new fence around it, a new deck and the entire area is all ROCKS including that grass that you see in the front of the pool.

Not sure if that's rock around the base or mulch, but FYI. Both are a bad idea. The rocks will eventually pierce the lining and the mulch will hold moisture around the leg bases and they will rust, even on the XTR.
Rubber Mulch is around the base of the pool and the legs are all on top of the concrete pavers not underground just under a light layer and there is no moisture but we do have a spray that could combat any moisture issues if needed. We have no rust issues and we take care of our pool like a baby so thanks for the heads up. We will keep an eye out. If we can get five years out of it, it will be worth it.
Could you provide the links for the plungers u have on the hoses and the 3 way plunger, also there was one you placed on the pump for backwashing in another video? I need to convert from 1 1/4 inch that is on the pool to the hoses the come from the pump which are 1 1/2 inch. Ur videos are very detailed and get to the point with great links. Hope u can help me with this! Much appreciated!

Great job! It looks so inviting. Are the bricks you put under the legs square or curved? Do they rub on the liner? Did you have any settling after rain?
Our landscaping has changed several times during this year which our second season. The mulch turned out to be a maintenance disaster. We ended up removing the majority of the mulch with the exception of 5 inches around the pool. the rest is rocks. Those are 10 x 10 square stepping stones. They do not touch liner at all. The pool arms rest just on the bottom 3rd of the each one. Yes - there has been settling over time. In the beginning we went around to each stone and made sure with a level that every two stones were perfectly level with a level. The settling was miniscule and we know this because in our pool our water level is almost perfectly level on the square liners square or cubed pattern. If you look at our pool playlist you will see videos that show mostly rocks now and in fact since we switched to a salt water pool, we removed all mulch and rocks now have the pool legs and feet completely exposed so you can see the stepping stones, but it is mainly so that the salt water doesn't have a place to sit and corrode the feet in any way. We are hoping for five years from this pool. The pool is very durable and has been our greatest joy during the summer.

Hi There! We are too! We take the pool cover off and quickly pressure wash both sides, then we get our Lawn Blower and dry off both sides and we both fold it just like a huge comforter and we store it in a plastic container with other covers, like umbrella covers, table covers, etc... and in one of our sheds there is a partial loft style shelf. We throw it up there. LOL We have other pool videos and in some of them you will see we have these large Deck boxes next to our pool. We store a lot of stuff in those too. Pool Toys, Pool cleaning stuff, Pool additives. Whatever we need that is pool related.

What size are the paver blocks for the legs? I just bought a 20 x 48 Ultra XTR and need to start looking around. The pavers you purchased look the perfect size
We started out with small ones 6 by 6 but we ended up changing them to 10 x 10 just to feel a little more secure but they were covered up with rubber mulch.
Sooo i just got the same pool and installed it , i didnt grade my backyard though cause i took the cheaper/easier route even though i shouldnt have 🤔 will this thing buckle on me and ruin my yard and my neighbors?🥴🥲🥲😭😭
I would definitely make sure that all of your leg supports are even so that from leg to leg they both show that they are level all the way around the pool because that is your main support system I have seen one pool owner on RUclips have a serious pool collapse but I think you can prevent that as long as you have support underneath each leg in that there all level all the way around
How do you keep blocks under poles from busting the pool when filled?
While the pool was filling up we were keeping a close watch on everything we could hear the legs slightly moving and making noises on the Blocks. The blocks really never moved all we really had to do was just adjust the legs on the Blocks to make sure they were centered. It seems like a scary Prospect hearing those noises worrying about "what if" but really it wasn't that bad at all, you just hang out and make any changes if necessary.
Any suggestions on first time setup with the final piece? I can’t seem to pull the two pieces far enough apart to click them together
We had to raise ours up in the air a little bit so it kinda goes up in the air like a triangle. Other than that it was not that difficult. Keep Trying! You can't give up now!

No all bricks and legs are perfectly balanced and level probably because we spent a long time meticulously making sure with the level that every two bricks were completely level and the tops of each legs. I am sorry that is happening. Is there anyway you can tap them back with a rubber mallet from the inside toward the outside and if the bricks aren't level place something under them like pieces of flat metal to raise them.

Thank you. That was rubber mulch and it did not work out for us because we had too many trees around us where debris Got into the mulch it was hard to blow out the wind would kick it out and also we had some neighborhood cats that would use it as cat litter. Believe it or not eventually that whole area you're looking at around the pool Became all rocks. And if you look at our more current videos we have a deck added to the pool so eventually it just all became rocks one section at a time

I just bought this pool and I have concerns about leaving the filter system outside in the rain since it does have an electric cord attached to it like yours shows in the video. How do you store yours when it's raining in order to protect the cord? Do you cover it with anything?
Yes whenever we unplug our pump at the end of the day we wind up the cord and put it under a plastic ice bucket of course we have plans to build a protective box that has holes for the hoses that can be left open when the pump is running but that's what we're doing and what we've been used to when it works we just wind up the cord and put it under the upside down plastic ice bucket which I think we got from somewhere like Dollar General for five bucks
Do you know what was the size of the ground cloth? We ordered the same one after seeing this video and I would like to have a head-start on the leveling.
We're thinking that the ground cloth might have been 19 by 19 because it was just enough to cover the edges of the 18 x 18 pool. We originally made a 20 by 20 foot square and fit the 18 foot pool in the center of that 20 x 20 square
Okay, I feel stupid. But my yard has huge holes from stray chickens. Would I be able to fill it with regular soil then sand?
I don't see why not as long as you used a leveling board like we did and went in many circles over and over again making sure the soil and sand is very compacted and extremely level.
When you did the circumference I know you used a wood what did you put inside to hold it to the ground idk if I’m explaining my self right lol
I know exactly what you are asking. We drilled a hole in the piece of wood and then stuck rebar in there but honestly if you could buy a long Bolt that has a larger head on it, that would work too. Anything to shove down in the ground enough to keep it steady while you are going round and round and round.
So, I see you didn't use much sand? I keep reading everywhere I need 3 cu yds of sand? How is the bottom of the pool? Soft under your feet?
150 lbs for a 3000gph pump. you can find out in your manual and if you don't have the manual you can look it up on the intex site and download it very easily. It feels great under your feet we never noticed anything unusual with the exception of one small wrinkle on the liner
Just got the same pool but 16x48. I am debating on putting something under the legs or not. We tried pavers but they make the legs too high for the ladder, it hangs off the ground. We are in North NJ where the ground is relatively hard and not sandy or mushy so I'm hoping it will be fine just on the tarp. Suggestions?
I'm not sure what you mean by the ladder won't work we used pavers and our original Intex ladder worked perfectly fine. I can tell you that we spent a lot of time with a level going to every two pavers and make sure they were level but the pool was never too high in order to put the ladder over it there was plenty of room and that was not a problem for us. If the ground is hard you don't have to pavers just make sure you place a level going around the rails to make sure every rail is on center and if not either build up the dirt under each pole or lower the dirt level. Making sure everything is level is key. Now we had trimed and tucked our Intex provided ground cloth in the crease all the way around.

Congrats on your pool and the video, very informative and detailed. I just got the same 18 x 52 Ultra XTR frame as yours. I did spent a lot of time and money leveling my back yard and leveling the brick during the setup, after the pool is full of water I see a difference of 1” to 1 1/2” from one side to the other. Are yours perfectly level? Is any safe range on the level of the water? Appreciate your feedback.
Congrats to you as well. Ours is about 1/2" - 3/4" off level and it is hardly noticeable. we keep our blue liner square tiles showing about 1-1/2 " of the blue portion liner. we have seen videos that show up to 2" off level and still doing fine. Did you use sand? We used at least 16 bags. It is a perfect ground leveler because of its compacting properties.
We typically will wait to backwash after a rain so that the extra water from the rainfall is not missed once we backwash. Have you seen any of other Intex pool videos? Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Mover and Shaker I just double check and mine is between 1 1/2” and 1 3/4” and it is noticeable, I don’t mind about the esthetic but my concern is the security of the frame, I have asked Intex if they have a range that the frame can tolerate. I will really hate to empty the pool and re-level the patio.
Did you upgraded the filtration system? Or that's the one that came with?
We upgraded it. It came with the standard pape filter system believe it or not, and then we purchased a small 1200 GPH pump and then decided after watching some other videos that we wanted our pool to have even better filtration and so the 3000GPH came along. How do you fix hoses so not being pulled down ?
The particular video that you are responding to was one of our very 1st pool videos a few years ago and we use parachute cord to hold up the. Hoses you may be able to see it in other videos shortly after this one.
does this pool come with a skimmer basket?
No it did not. We purchased the Intex Skimmer off of Amazon and my husband is obsessed with the skimmer. It does an amazing job and it is really good investment and is not that expensive. We even sometimes will take a panty hose leg and put it over the basket to get finer particles but only every now and then. We like our pool in pristine condition. We are getting ready to set it up again and will do a Skimmer video showing how well it works and how to install it.
What kind of mulch did you use? Did you use rubber mulch or wood? I did this same kind of setup with mine but I kept the wood mulch pushed away from the pool for fear of it puncturing the liner and we got rain for like 3 days and it shifted all my mulch right up against the pool and I got little tiny punctures around the bottom. I did use rubber mulch around the ladder area easier on the feet lol
Hi Josh. The mulch was Rubber mulch, but we only used it for one season because we had so many outdoor cats around our house that they were using it to poop in like cat litter. I was constantly cleaning poop out of the edges of our pool. Not only that but all the debris that would fly around in the wind such as pine straw or nearby sticks or anything like that was hard to remove from the mulch, because you just can''t use a blower on it as you can imagine. So we removed all of the mulch with the exception of the first few inches maybe just 3. The rest we filled in with rocks. If you take a look at this video here: ruclips.net/video/LC9NWRyjd-M/видео.html I think you will be able to see how it looked after our rocks were replaced. I ended up bagging all the mulch and putting around various plants in the yard. It sure did look nice though in the beginning. I never saw any punctures in the pool or anythiing that made me feel like I needed to remove it 100% at the edges. XTR is a tough cookie. We hope to get five years out of it. We are a salt water pool now and so we have made sure that after every use we wash it like a show car. LOL Thanks for watching the videos
this video has helped sooo much, just one question how far up did you fill the water? should it get over the outlet that pumps the water back into the pool ?
Yes it should be filled up to go at least over the INLET where the water gets pumped into the pool. We cringe when we have seen videos where the inlet is over the top of the water level.
I just purchased this same pool doing the build today, what size pavers did you use on yours? I see Alot of ppl using 12/12.
12 x 12 would be o.k. but the majority of the stone would be sticking out and the support arms would be closer to the back. I prefer 10 x 10.
Can I ask if you put the mulch over the taut tarp or did you roll the tarp to the pool sides and put the mulch on dirt. I’m about to do this endeavor this weekend with a 20 x 48. I had a 14 up previously.
We tucked the tarp into edges of the pool and did rubber mulch all over the dirt. I would not recommend the mulch if you have stray cats in the area and / or lots of pine trees. That has been our biggest and aggravating challenge. Various outdoor Cats think it's cat litter and pine needles will drive you crazy in a rain storm falling on the rubber mulch. We are in the process right now of doing all river rocks around the pool but keeping a small 6-8 inch ring of rubber mulch directly against the pool 20 bags of rocks @ 3.28 each We took the old mulch and spread it through places in the yard around trees.
We are also getting a deck built 8 x 12 this weekend. I plan to update everyone on here with the new Look. Rubber Mulch is still practical as long as it is not used for Kitty litter and pine needles and.or leaves. It will drive you insane. Nice on the upgrade. In the beginning we planned a 12 ordered a 14 and returned it for the 18. LOL

I am not sure what you're talking about, but the majority of that area is now rocks.
What is that you put around the pool mulch?
Well that mulch is now rocks as you will see in our other video showing the new pool deck but that is a box of Vigoro landscaping edging and you can purchase it at Home Depot it comes with spikes and every foot are so you put a spike in one of the holes.

Sod removal was 15 minutes Raking and leveling about 6 hrs being very meticulous about it.

That triangle is a little different now design wise but it's more like 3.5 feet. Stay tuned for an updated landscaping video.

The Intex pools all come with a ground cover. You place the pool on top of it. it was a very lightweight fabric but meant to be like a TARP just not as thick.

Did you use the pad liner Intex sent or did you buy a bigger one?
They don't send a pad liner just a flat sheet style liner...like a thin tarp no padding
P.s. look at our first pool video in the pool Playlist we used sand for leveling and padding.

That looked amazing, what did you use to out line where the mulch would sit and how many bags did it take? I just recently set up the 18'er and wish I could do it over again and prep. the ground better. But it will be OK 👌 my fam.👪 is loving it everyday
Thanks. The item that I used to outline the pool was purchased at Home Depot and its the vigero brand of landscaping materials their logo is like green and yellow and red and it comes with bags of little plastic nails that you can nail in these holes into the ground and you only have to do it every 3 or 4 ft. As far as bags of mulch I would say for sure the three corners three bags and at least two bags in the center of the pool and one bag for the pump corner area however we have removed all of them mulch if you read down in some of the replies below because we have too many feral cats in the area and they were using my mulch to poop in and then we had pine needles getting stuck all in it and it was a big pain trying to keep it clean so we have now put in River Rocks and we have a small 7 to 8 inch wide ring going around the pool that still rubber mulch this weekend week have a deck started and 8 by 12 I'm going to have a couple more videos on a brand new Intex pool seat both styles of vacuum cleaners and the new Landscaping update shortly in about maybe 2-3 weeks

How long did it take you from start to finish? With 2 people
It seemed like it took longer to get everything out of the Box and organized than it did to actually put it together but I would estimate 2 hours and then another half hour once everything set up in you start adding water you have to get inside the pool and stretch out all the wrinkles So I definitely would say 2.5 hrs for sure. As the The water fills up and the legs start to move I would add in another half hour for making adjustments to those legs as the pool starts to fill up.

Just purchased general purpose sand, but yours looks more fine, and nore light color.
It was just general purpose SAKRETE Play sand. I think it was so blazing hot out that it had dried as you thinned it out and became lighter

Yes. We used about ten 50lb bags to level the ground but everyone's landscaping is different but it was a huge help in getting the ball rolling and yes it was a lot of work but worth it all even while doing it in the BLAZING heat!

Wow, it looks like you are right! I tried looking for a few model types and sizes myself on Amazon and noticed you can't purchase them right now despite being advertised. It is because most of the nation is at home right now. Try Google and click the shopping tab. I see several available. at least search XTR pools. If you don't want the XTR model search just Intex. I see some at Walmart showing up too.
Mover and Shaker I know it seems like everyone else has the same idea of setting one of these up as something to do a home. I'll keep looking but I'd be bummed if I can't find one. Stay safe and healthy.

52" deep and more than 3 times my height in length...you get a few strokes in but for swimming it's better underwater from one side to the other. I use my flippers too sometimes. We mainly use it to play with pool balls and other creative pool games. lok

If you're talking about the pool I had to climb down inside the pool why the pool was filling up and you walk around the pool and tap or gently kick the sides at the seams which stretches it outwards and then you just keep pulling out the wrinkles in the center because you had to get down on your hands and knees so definitely you would be barefooted with shorts on so yes it takes work and it wouldn't be bad if you had help it's not as bad as it sounds so it's not like it took all day just took like 20 minutes maybe

Well last year it was Rubber Mulch. Not recommended though if you have pine straw or stray cats that may use it as kitty litter. We have revised our landscaping. (see future video update soon)

Great job! It looks beautiful. We're debating between an 18ft or a 24ft. How many people can the 18ft fit to play in comfortably?
I would say 6 easy. We have a great time playing with blow up balls. Good exercise and lots of fun.
One more thing, we started out with wanting a 12. We ordered the 14ft, we returned it for the 18th ft and we talk all the time about wish we had a larger one. It's so addictive but I can swim with flippers even underwater in our 18ft and still have plenty of length to get exercise and move around with multiple people. But yes, i would do 22 or 24 if I could do it over again.

What tarp did you use on the ground to out your pool on?
you did not set your pavers in the ground even with the pool bottom has that caused any problems
None whatsoever. They have dropped into the ground over time and aren't anywhere close to touching the liner. We went around the pool and made sure every 2 were 100% level all the way around, then nature did the rest.

It is Rubber Mulch. I would not recommend it if you have stray cats in the area and / or lots of pine trees. That has been our challenge after the long winter. Cats think it's cat litter and pine needles will drive you crazy in a rain storm falling on the rubber mulch. If you don't have pine trees, neighborhood cats, or other stray leaves then get the mulch. If you do, do rocks. We are in the process now of installing rocks around a small ring of mulch. I will have an update soon.
How many bags of sand did you use?
I believe 2.5 because they are 50 lbs bags and were have 120 lbs in the pump

Are these pools designed to be taken down after pool season every year?
Yes
We did not take ours down, ours was covered all year and the water was clear on removal of the cover, however yes you could drain, and simply disassemble if needed very easily. We have not seen any evidence yet of errosion or rust or anything that would warrant a need for that.

@@kellyantunes4245 I'm in Virginia we didn't have any snow last year and although there were freezing temperatures we had our pool tied-down snug tight and wrapped in the Saran Wrap with the winter pillow and everything worked out fine we bought a really high-quality cover I want to say was probably at least a hundred twenty-five. I think that made a difference at the wind and cold air cannot get up underneath that cover it was snug tite and the Saran Wrap made it even more warm so I think it was fine.

@@MartinRodriguez-gx9cs Anything you place around it is going to need to be maintained. You could do about 12 inches of rubber mulch and maybe the rest river rock or the cheaper white rocks that way if you have to use a blower they will less likely to be blown away like in the case of rubber mulch. We may transistion. We are getting ready to get a new deck installed and nice ladder. Things are going to be changing. Pool Life is addicting! I did order a new Intex Seat too for the pool. That will be a video too as well! lol

Did the pavers rub the liner on the inside?
No. In the beginning we had the small pavers but before we filled up the entire pool we switched (for safety) to the larger pavers then we buried the majority of them there's only a few pavers that are slightly above ground and they are protected from hitting the liner by some space and also the pool's ground cloth and some rubber mulch behind the polls in bricks. As the water fills up each leg is its own project to ensure stability safety and craftsmanship.
I would like to know what or how to level the area
Just like you see in the video, that red machine (a sod cutter) was rented at Home Depot we rented it for 4 hours but got the job done and picked it up and delivered it back in less than an hour (cheap) we watched a few videos before we rented the sod cutter but we're still very nervous about operating it once we got the sod cutter my husband just went with it and decided to figure it out as he went along and it turned out to be easier than he expected. we had the sod rolled up in no time and we actually sold our sod (poplular item) and it paid for the rental of the machine. Then you get a 10ft treated piece of 2 x 4
drilled a hole in the end of it enough for a piece or reebar to slide through it. Find the center for placement. We added 10 bags of 50lb sand over the area and just kept spinning and spinning the 10ft 2 x 4 until our level showed the ground was level.

I have the same pool but bigger, what kind of vacuum did you get for you'r pool?
Funny you should ask. I have a couple videos I need to post about items we use to clean our pool. My husband likes the INTEX Delux Maintenance kit for floor cleaning. He likes the fact that you can pinpoint objects in the pool and suck them right up. We did purchase the Automatic INTEX pool cleaner (the big one) and it picks up pine straw and leaves fairly well but we feel we could be getting better more thorough cleaning so we have just purchased a PENTAIR Kreepy Krauly Lil' Shark which is slight cheaper than Diver Dave, Critter Bug or Wanda the Whale. It hooks up to your skimmer and roams around in circles that are adjustable circle width settings on the bottom of the vacuum. I have a video to post on that too. I better get busy. Overall we are happy with Kreepy Krauly Lil' Shark moreso than the Intex pool cleaner however we prefer the manual Intex Deluxe Maintenance Kit vacuum over all the fancy ones.

Where did you purchase this?
I purchased mine off of Amazon. I have heard from many viewers that Pools are sold out everywhere right now. While everyone has been quarantined and working from home, the majority of folks got ahead of the normal pool season in March and April and purchased all the pools. I don't think that any pool manufacturer has been able to keep up with the supply or demand for this year.

We Wash our posts off everytime we get out of it. When were not swimming in it we are cleaning it like a new car. It was out from Last July until now almost a full year no signs of any rust. How old is yours.
Mover and Shaker I replaced 5 vertical posts at the end of the season last year. This is our 3rd Season with the pool. It is rusting at every T spot on the top rail.. Some even have holes.... I also have some NEW replacement poles I have for the top rail that are already rusting just sitting in my shed...I’m so mad..

The pool's interior is 18ft wide from one side of the liner to the other.

Yes. I would watch a few more installation type videos of intex pools that will show you various ways different people went about it. Everyone's land is different so different preparations and things need to be done.
i don't see the need to remove the grass. i feel you can mow it down to lowest setting on mower, if you still need to level some spots, you can still put sand or topsoil, compact it, laying the tarp and pool over the grass will smoother it either way and it will not grow. is there any particular reason you feel it was necessary to remove the sod?
@@cch068 We did it after doing lots of research on ground leveling for pools and because we do everything precise and on point, it's just how we are. We wanted our pool to be extremely level and to fell super flat on the inside. We wanted it to be perfect with no "what ifs or shoulda coulda wouldas."

I know there are videos I have seen online of people taking their INTEX pools down and putting them up. You may want to consult with those for reference. We do the opposite, we cover ours with a high end pool cover and then saran wrap for pools and insert a winter pillow with winter chemicals. If I had to do it to say move it would not be that hard based on how easy it was to install it, using the drain instructions to hook a hose up or a backwash hose drain it, air dry it and then unassemble the legs and connectors one by one. I would store the legs and the connectors all in a storage container and then the cover would probably need to folded inwards several times over but not sure where you would store that but afterall it comes new in a box so perhaps you could find KETER Storage box (Sams or BJs) like ours in our other video that will hold the entire pool.
What do u need to add to water when first getting started and then to maintain?
They do make cheap pool opening kits for all pool gallon water capacities. You can either order them online or go to the nearest pool store. To start ours and maintain, We use the Clorox Pool App and Clorox Test Strips to make sure our pool has what it needs. It is a learning process for sure, but I can tell you that we keep one 3" chlorine tablet in our floater and one in our skimmer when the pump is running. Other items we keep on hand are Chlorine tablets, PH Up, Calcium Hardness, Stablizer, Alkalinity Reducer, Clarifier, and Pool shock which many companies make these but when your pool calls for these items you adjust as needed. it takes a while to learn all of this but it will get easier over time.

We've had the intex easy set pool in the past and it was good quality so thats why we decided to go with Intex again. Just would like to ask a few questions #1 how much sand did you use for final leveling # of bags was it play or pool sand? #2 did you use cement paver or wood block under each foot/ vertical upright ? We already have the ground 90% ready just need to finalize with level on 2×4 . really want to do it right and have enough hands to help. Just waiting for some warmer midwest weather to install. Hi Dante, that was Last summer's original landscape. It was Brown Rubber Mulch and I only recommend it if you don't have pine straw or leaves or stray cats. Those things changed my entire experience despite how nice it looks. If you look in other videos you will see that we removed most of the rubber mulch and added rock instead. We only have about 5 inches now around the pool and we also removed the mulch from around the leg base because we switched to Salt Water and we rinse of the pool after every use. @@MoverandShaker I will look at your recent videos. As of now I leveled and 16x16 square. At the moment we have a 10x30 Intex but planning for next summer to change it out to a 14x48. Looking for ideas because we packed it with sandstone. But now the sandstone getting inside the pool

We are all a community of pool lovers and we have to stick together to share ideas and get advice. We are still learning everyday and still churning up new ideas to make things BETTER and easier on us. I understand wanting the bigger pool. Last summer I started out with an Intex baby pool that grew into a 14 x 48 that I returned for the 18 ft and we talk about one day getting a larger one. Lol It is addictive! but always so worth it.

We were going to use the 20 x 20 brown tarp that you see in the video when we originally marked the area out. However we decided it was too thick and bulky and we only used the ground cloth that came with the pool which is about 19 x 19 and we just tucked the edges under. it wasn't much to hide or tuck in.
Yes all the legs are sitting on their individual stones. While the pool is filling up you go around and make adjustments to each leg on each stone to make sure it's upright straight and centered as best as possible. We also used a 6ft level to make sure every two stones were level as we went around the pool by making adjustments to height or lowering if necessary.

Hi Isvi, Yes we used Sand to do the fine leveling. We used about 16 bags of play sand. We never ended up using the 20' x 20' brown tarp that you saw in the beginning. We thought it would gather and cause issues on set up. We stuck with the Intex Ground cloth that came in the box. It was 19' x 19' and once the pool set up and ready to balance everything you then tuck in the extra fabric closer to the vinyl curve of the base of the pool.

@@Europeanpounds The Winter cover was $124 and can be purchased here amzn.to/3dZqteD It is a heavy duty cover and it has held up nicely two seasons so far. Now the Intex pool comes with a seasonal lighweight cover in the box when you buy the pool. It would good for if you were like going to have a tropical storm and you wanted to keep leaves and debris out. or just to keep from cleaning it so much.

As we were laying all the paver bricks under the pool support bars we used a 6 ft long level on the paver bricks so that it was on top of two bricks at a time until every single dual brick area was level. So some were lowered. My explanation as to why they were not completely level was because we were doing so much movement putting the pool out and installing the pieces in the pool itself on the smooth ground that perhaps some areas were needing to be fine tuned. As the pool fills with water you will hear and see your legs move, just adjust the legs as the pool is filling up, it does sound scarey (the noise of the legs moving on the bricks as the pool fills up) but it wasn't that bad looking back at it.
@@MoverandShaker CAN YOU HELP ME OUT ASAP WITH YOUR THOUGHTS,OPINION,SUGGESTION ?we just put up our intex 16×48 xtr pool saturday i used the rectangular pavers from menards 7 3/4×15 1/2 x1 3/4 thick we leveled ground and felt good with how it came out level wise but with the pavers 1 3/4 sitting on ground that actually makes frame higher and looks like it stressing liner at bottom we only had it filled halfway so im draining it down to reset pavers level with ground instead of on top of ground i believe i read thats what you did. I just think these pools dont have much give and that having pavers on top of ground might cause liner to tear at bottom seam as i said it was only filled halfway so im draining it now and hopefully tomorrow ill set pavers level with ground ANY FEEDBACK MUCH APPRECIATED FROM CHICAGO!!
@@iamkazie9401 We leveled all of our pavers all around the pool before we added the water (yes there were some that needed sand soil adjustments in order for the entire circle to be level and as the water did start to get filled in we kept checking the level on all of them by using a 6 foot level across two pavers at a time making sure that every two pavers were on point exactly level so 12 o clock to 2 were leveled then 2 to 4 then 4 to 6 etc... We also made sure that every two posts (post to post) was also level and not to high in the air but flat horizontally. Overall everything settled into place.
@@MoverandShaker I think what they are both asking is - are the top of the pavers level with bottom of the pool liner, or are they higher than the bottom of the pool liner? I get what you are saying about all of them being level with each other, but it appears that the ring of pavers is higher than the bottom of the pool liner (sand/ground), so that is pushing the height of the top rail of the pool up by the height of the pavers, so the liner has to "stretch" further to reach the ground.
@@deinertandrew a little confusing as we did not have any of those issues to the extent as they had described but we focused moreso on the top rails, and made sure all of our top rails were not raised and completely level horizontally so this would not be an issue for us. We kept a close watchful eye the entire time this pool was filling up and we made adjustments of everything we could as it was happening when needed. We did not experience anything like this, only small adjustments with the heights and position ( left or right ) of the pavers
