I've met Pakistani people several times, talked about our history and cultural boundaries. The thing that made me feel really very bad is- Pakistani people don't know about Operation Searchlight of 25 march, 1971 where Pakistan army made a genocide in Dhaka; it's something very close to our emotion. In the history of world, Only nation Bangladeshis had to sacrifice lives in 1952 for mother tongue. Apart from the election of 1970, These 2 incidents were the fuel that motivated us to have a separate country and Pakistanis should regret for these forever. Pakistan army and its elites were solely responsible for the genocide of 3 million Muslim population. Yes, India helped us, but it helped us when we seeked their help. They fed 10 million of Bengali refugees for 9 months, most of them were Muslims. Despite being a Hindu majority country, it fed, sheltered, saved millions of Muslims. While Pakistan, being a Muslim country, and chanting Islam every second, caused death of millions, raped lakhs of women. After its heinous crimes, it is so arrogant that it advises us to forget what happened and never apologises. The bengali participants rightly said, we don't even think about them. This was a great loss for Pakistan and Pakistanis whatever the reasons may be for this Partition. I was child at that time residing at Dhaka in that era , watching these short clips of that time has raised feeling of sadness & longing of childhood loss. My father who has passed away 11 years back was in love with that part of pakistan and I have both sweet and sad memory of my childhood there.

It's seed were sown longtime ago which resulted in such a national disaster. India had no role in this disaster we provided space which was cashed by India for its own benefit. To be honest living in Canada Montreal Bangladeshi are very much obsessed about Pakistan. They still really have so much love and can speak a bit of Urdu. Even I don’t a single word of Bengali. In fact they really don’t have a good perception about india. Even our university association had a lot of events together held by both Bangladesh and Pakistan sharing culture, music and language.
It is really saddened and unfortunate to see that Pakistani youth is not even close in understanding the severity of this 1971 debacle. Having heard shallow arguments of Pakistani youth I have come to the conclusion that distortion of history is always lethal for the progress of any nation. This is exactly what Pakistan did especially in the General Zia era. Moreover, Pakistani youth has grown up studying distorted and fabricated history of Pakistan which never tells the bitter and gruesome realities of seperation. Pakistan's youth has been taught that Imdia was the sole reason of East Pakistan separation which is wrong. India was one of the reasons but the major being apathy towrds Bangalis by Pakistani military ruling elite especially in Ayub Era. Our youth is devoid of critical knowledge needed to understand the real essence of the dismemberment of East Pakistan. Last but not the least, today Bangladesh has outpaced and outclassed Pakistan in every walk of life be it economy, education, health, etc. Not only Bangladesh,India, Sri Lanka, have outplayed Pakistan in every sector. Examples abound. Sadly, We haven't learnt anything from the incidents 1971. Today our country is threatened by the phenomenally rising religious extremism patronised by the state itself....!

On 21 February 1952, a few brave Bengali youths laid down their lives to protect the dignity of their mother tongue. With that tragic event taking place on the streets of Dhaka, the seed of our nationhood was sown, which eventually sprouted and gave us the strength and fortitude to press for autonomy and eventually freedom from exploitation of the Pakistani regime. They tried to deny our right to speak, think and write in our mother tongue, when they most unjustly declared that Urdu would be the only official language of the state of Pakistan. This declaration from the ruling quarters was a blatant denial of the right of the Bengalis who formed the majority of the population of Pakistan. When the brave sons of this land most unselfishly embraced martyrdom to counter the designs of the Pakistani rulers, this step was written into history as the courageous act of a people who fought to uphold the dignity of their national pride. For the Bengalis, as the years passed by, the yearning to free themselves from the shackles of exploitation gained momentum as the world witnessed the political movements of the sixties ushering in the six-point charter of the Awami League, the 11-point demands of the students, the mass movement of 1969, and ultimately the Liberation War of 1971 that gave birth to Bangladesh. Bangladesh is the only country in the world that had to spill its blood for the right to speak its language. We are the only brave ones to have faced a trained, well-equipped army and defeated them. By 1969 Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib ur Rahman raised the issue of full regional autonomy for East Pakistan. The election of 1970 saw the Awami League led by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib ur Rahman winning a majority of seats in the National Assembly to form a government. But that was never to happen. The Pakistani military regime blatantly rejected the result and openly threatened the legitimate elected people's representatives of dire consequences. On the night of March 25, 1971 the Pakistan Army executed Operation Searchlight and the world saw brutality the likes of which has rarely been seen. We lost 3 million lives and 2 million women were violated. But the resilient people of the soon-to-be Bangladesh did not give up and they won. They won their freedom. They won their rights, and they won their mother tongue. It has been 70 years from 1952 to 2022. We have crossed all major hurdles Bangladesh could have faced and we still stand tall and so we shall as long as we remember our history and culture. As long as we remember our past, present and future nothing will and no one can deter Bangladesh. It is an "undisputed" and "settled" fact that 30 lakh people laid down their lives during the Bangladesh's War of Liberation in 1971, says the International Crimes Tribunal-1.

They spend so much on making their impression. I. Ehd e wafa, the politician character was portrayed as villain and the army guy, was the hero, of perfect moral character. This was a great loss for Pakistan and Pakistanis whatever the reasons may be for this Partition. I was child at that time residing at Dhaka in that era , watching these short clips of that time has raised feeling of sadness & longing of childhood loss. My father who has passed away 11 years back was in love with that part of pakistan and I have both sweet and sad memory of my childhood there.

It is really saddened and unfortunate to see that Pakistani youth is not even close in understanding the severity of this 1971 debacle. Having heard shallow arguments of Pakistani youth I have come to the conclusion that distortion of history is always lethal for the progress of any nation. This is exactly what Pakistan did especially in the General Zia era. Moreover, Pakistani youth has grown up studying distorted and fabricated history of Pakistan which never tells the bitter and gruesome realities of seperation. Pakistan's youth has been taught that Imdia was the sole reason of East Pakistan separation which is wrong. India was one of the reasons but the major being apathy towrds Bangalis by Pakistani military ruling elite especially in Ayub Era. Our youth is devoid of critical knowledge needed to understand the real essence of the dismemberment of East Pakistan. Last but not the least, today Bangladesh has outpaced and outclassed Pakistan in every walk of life be it economy, education, health, etc. Not only Bangladesh,India, Sri Lanka, have outplayed Pakistan in every sector. They tried to deny our right to speak, think and write in our mother tongue, when they most unjustly declared that Urdu would be the only official language of the state of Pakistan. This declaration from the ruling quarters was a blatant denial of the right of the Bengalis who formed the majority of the population of Pakistan.
When the brave sons of this land most unselfishly embraced martyrdom to counter the designs of the Pakistani rulers, this step was written into history as the courageous act of a people who fought to uphold the dignity of their national pride. For the Bengalis, as the years passed by, the yearning to free themselves from the shackles of exploitation gained momentum as the world witnessed the political movements of the sixties ushering in the six-point charter of the Awami League, the 11-point demands of the students, the mass movement of 1969, and ultimately the Liberation War of 1971 that gave birth to Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is the only country in the world that had to spill its blood for the right to speak its language. We are the only brave ones to have faced a trained, well-equipped army and defeated them.
By 1969 Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib ur Rahman raised the issue of full regional autonomy for East Pakistan. The election of 1970 saw the Awami League led by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib ur Rahman winning a majority of seats in the National Assembly to form a government. But that was never to happen.
The Pakistani military regime blatantly rejected the result and openly threatened the legitimate elected people's representatives of dire consequences.
On the night of March 25, 1971 the Pakistan Army executed Operation Searchlight and the world saw brutality the likes of which has rarely been seen. We lost 3 million lives and 2 million women were violated. But the resilient people of the soon-to-be Bangladesh did not give up and they won. They won their freedom. They won their rights, and they won their mother tongue.
It has been 70 years from 1952 to 2022. We have crossed all major hurdles Bangladesh could have faced and we still stand tall and so we shall as long as we remember our history and culture. As long as we remember our past, present and future nothing will and no one can deter Bangladesh.
It is an "undisputed" and "settled" fact that 30 lakh people laid down their lives during the Bangladesh's War of Liberation in 1971, says the International Crimes Tribunal-1.

I am a Bangadeshi. Though I am not very fond of Pakistan, I like your dramas. I watched two ISPR funded serials Ehd e wafa and Sinf e Aahan. I was shocked to see the level of their propaganda. They spend so much on making their impression. I. Ehd e wafa, the politician character was portrayed as villain and the army guy, was the hero, of perfect moral character. Though the drama was nice, but trust me, I felt disgusted to see how they spend public money to build their image and brainwash people. As if they are the only patriots. Civilians dont care about the country. In 1971, it was Bengali civilians who fought and gave their lives for our independence. We had very few trained soldiers. When time requires, civilians showbas much bravery and patriotism , perhaps more than army personnel. Army just do their jobs. They get paid very well for their job. Its 2021. How many army personnel actually ever get the chance to fight physically in a direct combat ? Even if they do, lives of lower ranked non commissioned soldiers sacrifice. Not the officers. When the whole of India fought for independence from the British colony, there was no conflict about religion. No superiority was there. Gandhi - Jinnah separated the nation into 2 regions based on religion. But west Pakistanis assumed them as superior. Another partition occurred, We got Bangladesh 🇧🇩. Why blame India, when one aspect of Genocide was against Hindus. About 80 % of million odd refugees were Hindus. Do not allow religious zealots or army to rule civilians. The 1971 partition tore my maternal family apart. They were adversely affected by the partition for several years. This video reminded me of their struggle. I appreciate the thoughts of the people in the video and would like to share my own family’s struggle as a result of the partition. I would love for Pakistan and Bangladesh to reconcile their differences and accept responsibility where necessary to maintain a mutually respectable national relationship.
