Thank you! Had to do the exact same probing to get the key cylinder out on my 1974 Firebird column. I used vice grips and a jig saw blade. Your vid helped a lot! 👍👍👍👍
Nice video! What about a 1986 chevy C20. I got down past the compression plate but the screwdriver isn't unlocking the cylinder. Taking it slow.so I don't mess anything up. Any ideas?! Semper Fi!
Great video and tips, Thanks for sharing! I have a 73 K10 that locked up on me today. I will be tearing into this tomorrow.

It should, try using an end of a hack saw blade, you might not be depressing it enough good luck
.030 feeler gauge works good also as a release tool
Nice
I will try that next time, Have a great week
I could not get mine to release with that feeler gauge, not sure if it was going to the side of the release. I will revisit this with a hacksaw blade!
My signal lever has a wire attached. Is that normal?
NOPE
Mine is wired too
I did everything right but my truck won’t start I don’t know why it’s a 89 s10
double check all the connections
I got mine out but it won’t lock back in place when I’m putting in the new key in my 83 el Camino
there are two styles of lock cylinders, make sure they are the same and oriented the same way as the original. Best of luck
