    My first attempt at doing pillars was a complete failure. I used speaker pods instead of a ring. I also didn’t realize that different textures on the base material play a crucial role in the overall finish. Next year I will try again. Like all of your other videos, this is a great beginners guide.

    This is amazing. I’m going to pick up a set of a-pillars for my f150 from a junk yard and use them to practice ❤

    That looks very good mate! This bedliner is a very good idea, i will try it instead of fabric at my next project :-)

      I guess flocking can always be the last resort, as it will hide almost anything😁

    Looking great for 1st attempt, I m learning heaps.
    Possibly you needed some fine filler as you are painting then, this would of got rid of some imperfections & is easier to rub down.

    they look very good, no problem. maybe would have helped to make that back angle longer till the tip of the pilla to help with that transition, but it's very fine no problem. I'm afraid when i'll gonna do mine in OEM beige material like you have also :(

      How has it gone ? I have just started mine 1 week ago and I have gathered so much information from this channel and from Paetron channel PSSOUND. I have made some mistakes though but no crucial ones. The easiest but most annoying part was the modelling and angeling of the adapter rings. I have made the same mistake twice when i only looked for the on axis angle. I put the adapters on axis and couldn’t fit either the pillar or the loudspeakers in it anymore because there was no clearance anymore. The easiest part was the filling and sanding. Then I was so confident to wrap it alone that I messed up half an a pillar with cloth and adhesive. Removed it all and started with primer and filler for Bedliner. I will apply the bedliner tomorrow and will see how it will look. Hopefully you will achieve your goals in the process too !

    Wow that turned out great! I would like to try fabric myself but I wonder if they do a white/greyish bed liner to sort of match a lighter coloured headliner...

      Thanks☺️ They make bed liner like textured spray paint in any colour you want🙂 Look for textured spray paint.

    The A-pills turned out great for a ‘fluck it’ attempt. Watched all the stages.
    Is that a Morel sub in the boot btw? Seriously considering a pair of TiSC 10s, but not sure if I need 2. Don’t wanna be windy, just slight SPL.

    I don’t know if you did this or not but before you got everything glued permanently in place for the tweeters, did you take any RTA measurements to verify the aiming or did you just eyeball them? I made that mistake when I built a set of kick panels for mids and tweeters and the tweeter aiming looked dead on but when I measured them one fell off at 12k and the other one fell off at 13k. There’s no way to adjust them now without rebuilding the kick panels. I hope yours will play all the way up to 20k.

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  Год назад

      I did indeed eyeball it. If something will be very wrong I really don't mind re doing the pillars😉 Practice after all.

      Kickpanels suck for tweeter placement

    • @19rc69
      @19rc69 Год назад

      @@ekimandersom4478 I agree but it was the only option I had at the time. I’ve since moved them to the sail panel position along with my mids on the dash. I have a much better soundstage, however the tweets in the kick panel position had a better frequency response and required much less eq.

    Try wrapping some sand paper around a dowel, a can, or some other round object and using it to sand those coves circumferentially. The texture you are getting looks good. You can very lightly sand the texture and then paint with a vinyl paint, and it'll look like molded plastic.

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  Год назад +1

      That is a great advice actually🤔 Yeah now that the bed liner smoothed out the surface, I could potentially paint it whatever I want☺️
