I got one of these and I've had it for 2 years working on and off. That small bit of information that you showed me I think you might just be trick. Thank you in advance
It’s one more to check with my still br340, looks like that one. What do you think about fuel filters? I already replaced air filter and I’ll try the fuel mixture adjust, awesome video.
not sure what your question is about fuel filters... but it is always good to make sure you have a good clean fuel filter to draw fuel from. If it is clogged you will not get fuel to the carburetor to fire the engine.
I was given a br 430. They replaced the carb along with a tune up. Plugs, filter etc. It will start but won't run without choke. It might run half choke.
If you replaced the carburetor with an aftermarket one from China… They are kind of hit and miss as to whether they will work properly. You might want to try adjusting the carburetor and see if that helps. Let us know what you find out
@@helpinguonline Tried adjusting it and no matter how, wouldn't idle without choke. The second china carb actually did idle without choke but bogged down with throttle no matter how adjusted. The original Stihl carb ( made in China ) exhibited same problem. I got another china carb to try. Also checked all fuel lines and was tuned up. Plug, air filter etc.
My old br420 has other problems im working on and waiting on the new parts its h and L screws are set to the right turns mine has a bad coil. I noticed on alot of peoples stihls older backpack blowers are missing the spark arrestor screen on them mines missing it to but i bought it used as it is and paid $50 for it Was still thinking about upgrading the old br420 carburetor and put on one that has a primer bulb like the newer models have on them then this old model will be a little new falls around the corner so i have to fix mine fast
how do I fix (same back pack blower in this video) that wont start unless Im pulling and pulling on the dang cord like 20 times before it finally starts?
If it eventually starts you have spark so it sounds like your problem is a fuel problem. That could be anything from a clogged fuel filter… Fuel line problem… To the need to rebuild or at least clean the carburetor. It is very common to have fuel problems with machines that have fuel sitting in them unused especially over winter. You could also try to adjust the low side fuel adjustment screw a quarter turn counterclockwise and see if that helps if you don’t wanna go through the carburetor work. That may or may not help.
They showed this gauge as a large item. But when I ordered it, it was too small to be used As a construction tool. A bait an switch if you sak me. I would go to home depot or Walmart to get one.
If it quits running when it gets hot but will start again when it cools off… Your ignition coil may be starting to go bad. When it’s hot and it quits check and see if you have spark to test
Sounds like a fuel problem. I have a video coming out tomorrow of a lawn mower that was doing the same thing...if you want to check that out it may give you some ideas
It would be great if thats all mine needed done to it but the guy used and neglected it for a long time so so it wasn't just a simple fix its still a easy fix though because i work on alot of different small engines
I wish everything was that easy to fix, good job

Good move covering your LP.

Stihl pump air coming low
What this problem
What if when it’s hot it bogs down and won’t stay running?

Mine has this problem but when I get it running and I cut it off, it won’t start back. Or if I run it out of gas, it won’t start back.

@@helpinguonline I did adjust the fuel and it helped a lot on the cold start, but didn’t help any in a hit start.

Well you put fresh gas in it? Ok fixed
