The Arkham series is a masterpiece
Y'all stfu the Arkham series is a masterpiece.
@Damian Howard The entire series is god-tier
@Damian Howard Just why, its a game. Why do you care to watch this if its shit?
@@nava93s Why does Damian Howard care to watch this video if its shit!
K
This behind the scenes doc did more for me than anything in SSKTJL. Long live Asylum.
Bro facts
Today marks the 8th anniversary of the launch of Batman: Arkham Asylum, the title that redefined the superhero game genre. To celebrate, here's a series of behind-the-scenes videos from the bonus DVD included in the Collector's Edition of the game.
Batman Arkham Videos so what was that game featuring damian wayne you're talking about?
Batman Arkham Videos, you missed something in Arkham Asylum. There is a secret room with information about Arkham City in the warden's office. Use the explosive gel and find it.
Maximus Dominguez
I doubt he missed that....
Rick- J420, I checked every Arkham Asylum video. There's nothing.
Batman Arkham Videos Kevin contour had the best Batman voice until Ben Affleck
Arkham Asylum is the best in my opinion. The story is amazing, the cinematography and the atmosphere is just beautiful. Also, those Scarecrow missions are the best. Gave me nightmares back in 2009 lol
SuperShah201 Same
SuperShah201 Same. I was 10 when I beat the game. It should be rated E.
Those inmates that spring surprise attacks on Batman is terrifying
I was 10 when I played as well for the first time. Best the game like six times. Loved the games. Then bought them on remastered versions for xbox one and beat it after not playing it since akrham knight came out. It was so nostalgic.
Same
Most important thing: They did research and the lore right! Thank you, Rocksteady!
That is what I loved most. Instead of recreating everything they threw us in the middle of a world we were very familiar with and got it right.
What are you talking about? The Arkham games are a whole new universe, seperate from any previous lore.
@@HOTD108_
He's talking comics I think
Paul Dini wrote the story for Asylum and City. He is the same guy who created the animated series in the 90s
What a puss
Guys, don't worry. His channel's not ending. He still has to do the Arkham Knight Easter...oh shit...
I think that you forgot that he hasn't done / uploaded the challenge maps of arkham origins. ( And Knight aswell? Idk )
Well seeing how I forgot that I can no longer use that excuse as to why his channel's not ending, yes I would say I HAVE forgotten it. But he's also doing Telltale so...
Yea your right. Sorry if I annoyed you.
Nah, you didn't annoy me.
what arkham knight Easter egg?
Kevin conroy really knows his character so well, just shows that he really is the definitive batman
Agreed. May he Rest In Peace 🙏😔
R.I.P Batman
Kevin Conroy
Take a fucking bow creative team. This game is my favourite of the franchise, game got me back into batman comics. The art design, sound/voice, narrative, gameplay, comic accuracy.. all on fucking point. 10/10
Paul Dini is the best writer for the batman games and animated movies in my opinion.
Couldn't help smiling when I saw Hamill and Conroy acting
I remember playing Arkham asylum and once I got through the intro I thought "this is gonna be good"
The Batman Arkham series is truly something special! Such a freaking masterpiece of a series! Best video game series of all time!
Rocksteady really did the Dark Knight justice
Ah, Paul Dini, wish he would've lended his writing genius to Arkham Knight. I'm not saying the story was bad in Knight but it was a bit lacking for me. Not to mention Dini's work on Asylum and City was fantastic.
Rob Forge i feel the same. arkham knight could of used less batmobile centric missions but Dini's absence was definitely felt imo
Rob Forge agreed. You could tell he was missed due to the lackluster finale. Rocksteady really should have kept Dini, I feel as though I didn't get closure on the arkham franchise...
He moved on to better things, like *Ultimate Spider-Man.* /s
Rob Forge "The worlds greatest assassin vs the worlds greatest detective. Who will win?"
"NOT HIM"
Bravo brilliant writing
On Asylum I agree but the City? City has the most nonsensical story of the three if you try to analyze it without getting distracted on the awesome gameplay. I'm not sure how much Dini did the city but the quality drop in comparison with the Asylum is obvious.
To Rocksteady, thank you for making the Batman Arkham series. It's truly one of my all time favorite video game series. I hope your next game will be as exciting as ever
Boy this comment didn't age well, huh?
@@SpanookiI’d say it did
Personally I think Kill The Justice League looks lame as hell. It's a real shame in my opinion because City and Knight were masterpieces @@slycat128
@@slycat128nope kill the justice league is hot ass
@@Spanooki Knight is NOT a masterpiece
God, I wish that the OG team made all of the games, the bangers would be on another level!!
Ever since I started playing the arkham games it was an absolute amazing gaming experience as a batman fan and out of all of them I love the very first game, happy anniversary arkham asylum.
It's the 8th anniversary... He just has nothing to do so he has to upload SOMETHING to keep his channel from dying... Otherwise, I don't think WE CELEBERATE 8TH ANNIVERSARIES.
I can't believe it's been 8 years since Arkham Asylum came out. I got the game as a Christmas present as one of my very first PS3 games in 2009, and i was 15 years old
Me neither. I was 10 when Arkham Asylum came out, it honestly kinda scared me as a child, especially when those lunatics in the Penitentiary came into play. But I fell in love with the series from that point on and stuck with it all the way to the end at 16 when Arkham Knight came out.
Wish I could say the same, MK VS DC was my first game... But Arkham Asylum is definitely top 5.
I got origins on Christmas I was so happy
To be honest , the whole Arkham series was a pure piece of awesomeness!!!!! Well I had a pretty good experience playing these games!!!!! One more thing it's just not about graphics or character designing it's just the way that we all wanted to see a good Badass DC Batman game!!!!😊☺
Now only if Marvel does the same thing with their new Spider-Man PS4 game. (I hope it doesn't get the short end of the stick like Arkham Knight did.)
@@aGrafimir well that game is also a masterpiece now
@@ticoliro3392
Agree, its basically the Arkham of Marvel now
They made the most realistic and comic accurate batman ever
Asylum is the best of the three. It does not have to be about graphics or gameplay. The story was amazing and it was a great beginning to one of the most beautiful series in video game history.
Arkham 0210 no the City is best my opinion
Arkham 0210 maybe if Knight and City didn't come out
Asylum will always be the best one out of the series. Even if the ending Joker battle was disappointing. City was the peak, and Knight would of been an otherwise solid ending if they toned down the Batmobile battles.
Arkham 0210 i gotta go w City. City, Asylum, Knight. But knight was a great game. Just the nostalgia made City the best for me, story wise... City. World Wise, Knight. Character Devleopment, Asylum/ city
Arkham 0210 Asylum has the best atmosphere and story, City has the best content and boss fights, and Knight has the best core gameplay.
Arkham asylum Poison ivy and Harley Quinn had a major impact on my puberty.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...same😐
A HUGE one
Nice to hear the creative team behind Arkham Asylum.
Revisiting after today’s sad news. 😢
Same
He loved his fans, that means you too. Remember that. I hope you are doing well
4:35 Batman's one rule lol
R.I.P.
Batman: Arkham Series
2009 - 2015
I bring glad tidings
For now... 😏
Rommel Gonzalez damn straight
Very hyped for the future
Full of soul that is lacking in modern Rocksteady sadly
Just came back after watching the clusterfuck Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League game. Wish they made a superman game or a flash game
This has always been my favorite Batman game I’m actually playing it right now
Rest in peace Kevin Conroy Batman’s greatest voice
The intercom chime still gives me chills
Well time to replay the Arkham series
I know people prefer Arkham City but Arkham Asylum will alway be my favourite... It's the darkest game & has the best character design & story, I love it! \m/
It's my favorite too and I love it because it was so gritty and the asylum felt alive and eery with the dark architecture from the semi-clean Medical Ward to the high security Penitentiary. It just feels so real, I don't know how to put my finger on it but I just love it
Adam Freefall 69 yeah it's Alex Ross with more realistic details
Thaylin Is A Nerd.
Asylum captured a feeling that the sequels never could. The sequels felt like they were trying too hard to be the best but it doesn't work. Asylum is still the best IMO.
The only part of Asylum that hurt it for me was that slog through Croc's lair. It was conspicuously not fun compared to everything else in the game. I don't think City ever had a section as tedious, so that, along with the improved scope, mechanics, and the bravery to write that shocking ending, make me prefer City.
My favorite thing about watching this in hindsight is you can tell Rocksteady had literally no idea how well the game was going to be received at the time. Sure, they must've been just coming off a massive crunch at the time these interviews were recorded, but even then... how would they have known? Good lord, I think Sefton Hill must've had some kind of heart attack when he heard about the Guinness Record thing. XD
What made Arkham Asylum very very scary and creepy is the Radio Jingle. Everytime that damn jingle comes you expect bloody words coming from both Joker and Harley, threats, and other horrifying things. But the most eerie and terrifying of them all is the random silence. One time, I was walking around Arkham East when the jingle came and I was expecting either Joker taunting Batman, Joker gathering goons, Harley screaming how much she love Joker, or just the old-fashioned Joker laugh, what came however, is an unexpected silence and it terrified me, thinking maybe somebody is lurking behind Batman or somewhere in the area, so I grappled in a higher position and waited 30 mins just to see nothing happen.
As a kid I adored Batman. To see a team really nail a perfect Batman game, takes me back to my childhood.
“The Best Batman Game Ever Made”
-Game Informer 13 years ago and yet it’s still the greatest Batman game today.
Idk about that. Arkham City is easily better.
@@HOTD108_ mechanically, character and story wise? definitely. Atmosphere and immersion wise? As if
They never new they'd create the greatest game series.
Batman arkham series games are absolutely amazing
I just want a Batman beyond game
Twisted Enigma yes!!
You can always equip the Batman Beyond skin in Arkham City / Knight and just use your imagination.
Sell it to Telltale or W.B. games
Twisted Enigma I prefer a dark knight returns game! I still want to play as Bruce Wayne
Twisted Enigma telltales should've stared with that BEYOND version because we've seen a ton of Bruce Wayne stories in the past 5 years or more
This game is one of the greatest experiences I've ever had playing video games. I got this game at midnight when it came out my mind was blown the first time I played through this game. I always tell my friends to play this game first out of all the other arkham games
The team that worked on asylum and city understand what the Batman franchise is supposed to be
Cleansing my eyes and ears after SS KTJL
RIP Kevin Conroy the true voice of The Dark Knight.
If it wasn't for this game, I wouldn't be a fan of Barman and I would never be the DC fan that I am today.
Saw the notification and i though it was new arkham titles announce on gamescom. Oh well, better than nothing.
จิรายุทธ พ่อค้า This is nothing though lol
dhruv pathak i like watching these BTS. So despite my disappointment. For me it was better than nothing.
the only reason Asylum is #2 on my list is the ending. Was not a fan of the Joker titian battle.
Batman Arkham City and Batman Arkham Asylum are masterpieces. They are the best superhero games ever made.
Do you guys think we'll actually get another Arkham game?
Elijah Johnson nope
Elijah Johnson not from Rocksteady. They said Knight was (for better or worse) their Arkham swan song, and once it was completed they would move on to other projects. Since then, Sefton Hill has confirmed they have started something new. As for the rumors of WB Montreal's game, I'm calling fake news. This is the Internet where any story can be fabricated. As far as I'm concerned, unless there is a poster or trailer, the game doesn't exist. Take Insomniac's Spider-man for example. Reports were coming out that Sucker Punch was making a Spider-man game. However, these reports were false as Insomniac announced the game at E3. While it seems ridiculous to scrutinize based on developer alone, the game really didn't exist until it was announced. Though there are things to say about why I think they announced it way too early.
Never lose hope
Elijah Johnson It's coming in 2019. It was supposed to come out next year but was put on hold due to leaks and internal investigations. Plus 2019 is the 80th anniversary for batman
Elijah Johnson I hope so batman arkham knight was a bit of a letdown
Poor sods couldn't know what was coming for their franchise...
They knew. That's why many of them quit after Arkham Knight. They wanted to make a Superman game, but suits and experts wanted to make a GAAS looter shooter with Suicide Squad.
I love this game so much. Its sequels also great. Bean a fan since 90s. Rest in peace Kevin Conroy best Batman.
Hard to believe it's been 8 years...
It's now been 11
Finished playing this recently a few months ago for the first time. This game is a masterpiece, the dark, Gothic mood of the whole atmosphere is amazing. Great atmosphere. Very much a great cinematic experience also. And to top it off, loved it at the end. Batman making his way over to the fireworks and meeting two formed lines of Joker henchman applauding him, welcoming him into the theatre for the final battle. Then I just decide to take them all on in a fight. So badass. Walking slowly to join the Joker's party at the end, covered in battle wounds and a damaged suit.
Just gives me vibes of the cathedral climb at the end of Batman 1989 where he's injured, but still going after the Joker!
These games saved Batman as a character.
Especially with the Film
Adaptation's
These guys were excited about making a great game for the fans AND the critics. Whether or not you are a comic book fan, they made this game for all of us❤
3:12-3:17 Holy 🐮!!, It's Will Smith 😱😱! Talking about a huge changing gears from rapper-turned-actor-turned-game developer. He's basically a dude disguised as another dude!
This game is what made me a fan of Batman and comic book heroes alike.
This game truly made me feel like Batman! What a masterpiece! I freaking love it! Best superhero game of all time! I’ll never forget this game!
Such a legendary game studio
Kevin Conroy forever ❤️
This is my favorite superhero game of all time.
Good times with the OG Rocksteady team 🥲❤
Seriously wonder why Dini didn't work on the last game, it could have been so much better. I wish he'd work with Bruce Timm again. As shown with Batman and Harley Quinn, Timm needs to stick to animation and stay away from writing.
MyNameIsSladeWilson that's weird because the PAULS DINER was a reference to him
This game is a masterpiece
We are never going to get a new arkham game, are we?
:(
Tahp Kkjhhnn its better that way, otherwise it will end up like assassins creed and we dont want that do we?
DingDongSoLong TheyCallItLongShlong 3 years cycle is still ok for me. I cant get enough of batman games tbh. So many comic material that can turn into a full batman games.
Tahp Kkjhhnn yeah it's coming in 2019
DingDongSoLong TheyCallItLongShlong there is a new batman game being created
How do you know that, The batman...?
I loved Asylum for its just great story and scary atmosphere
Arkham videos never runs outta videos
I was just thinking about how I should replay the Arkham series this weekend, and then you upload a video!! Nice!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this video, the first arkham game is my favorite
3:57 - 4:10 if you know, you know
He is man.
Yeah, he's man
This was such an amazing game. I don't think it was the best game in the series whatsoever, but it was something never thought of at the time of release. It was pure genius, and it still holds up today as one of the best Batman games of all time.
Thanks for uploading, arkham videos... :) it's truly great to see that you don't hold back on uploading old games's extras. :)
Wow! I was looking for videos like this, and here it is! I'm so happy to see this video, because i never saw it before. By the way, Kevin Conroy don't even need to change his voice to sound like Batman, because when he talking then you hear the voice of actual Batman. I mean that he is sound like Batman even without changing his voice to sound like Batman.
Beautiful game. Thank you for uploading this!
I wish at that in Arkham knight we got to return to the Asylum get and have a final fight with Jason in the places he was kept and get to walk around the grounds as well.
They all look so young. Miss your vids BAV been following you since Arkham City
I love what you do for us,thank you for making this channel,i love it,we are very grateful,at least i am.
what is next for rocksteady i hope a superman or a green arrow game or even a justice league game
Green arrow no. Justice league yes superman maybe
Green Arrow: Not really, Justice League: Perhaps, Superman? NOPE
I don't think rock steady will make a super man by how powerful u are as superman that's my opinion
Dont kill the Batman series ? Drop the superman
What a wholesome team!
Game changers would be an understatement
Such great work went into this game, still my favourite.
So glad they also talked about how great the visual style was. Strange blend of Victorian London, mental hospitals, gothic horror, etc. It's truly, truly great
We want more
Niiice! Thx for the upload.
Dick Grayson Sup Nightwing :)
Thanks for uploading this
Rest in Peace, Kevin Conroy ❤
the explosive gel is whipped cream.
They should make an Arkham game where you play as a villain. It would be a great twist on an already established game series and could make an interesting plot. Maybe, you play as Joker/Another villain and your goal is to stop Batman. Perhaps it could act in an alternate timeline, in which you can kill Batman in this game but it wouldn't affect the other games. Your opinions?
I was thinking the exact same thing as you. Rocksteady should make a game about deathstroke. Beginning to end just like the arkham series.
That would be pretty interesting. Would you rather: An origin story/segments from the comics or a completely original script?
Joshuanadon the already have one u can play as the villain but it's a mobile game
Joshuanadon they were going to make a suicide squad game
I would love that
11:29 I love the fear aspect in the game! It’s really fun to drive fear into my enemies and pick them off one by one!
I am replaying this Remastered version with rain and I love it.
The Arkhamverse is the perfect adaptation of the Batman
looks good guys, definitely will pre order
Asylum was the best. It gives a clean start with almost every classic villain.
Thanks for the vid ive been trying to search behind the scenes
Is there a documentary like this for City and Knight, as well?
I don't know but I don't think so...
I would love to play such an early version of the game, looks so different
They show the released version of the game in the video...
grafimir Gamer Oh really? Let me just re watch the vid in like an hour, then ima point out the differences for you.
2:10 Since when does it say XP at the top left?
2:58 Does the guard look like that in the final game? Nope he doesn't.
3:00 Do the Barriers look like that in the final game? No they don't.
4:03 There is no such camera perspective in this scene. (Maybe that was just made for that DVD but anyways).
4:20 Jokers hair isn't like that in the final game.
4:35 There is no fence like in the final game and you can't hit someone off those towers.
5:01 Since when does the HUD look like this? Or the Grapple symbol?
5:24 The counter indicators do not have that exact color in the final game.
5:46 Tf is that x3
8:34 Since when is the batclaw that big?
8:51 Where is the Joker Smiley face? It is in the final game.
9:09 Ivys red ball things don't look like that.
13:58 There is no armed thug who is walking around in the processing corridor in the final game.
28:46 Stuff just does not look like this in the final game. The layout is different.
There were some more, but i felt like those are not that important to point out.
@barbiechainglo the ps3 version was my first ever ps3 game, I played that sht so many times and I don't remember any of that, if it's not too much of an inconvenience, could you point out to me what exactly is similar to the ps3 version? I'd like to check it myself
I remember seeing these on the PlayStation 3
Great game. great memories from playing these games.
Asylum is outstanding because it came at a time where no one would've ever think a super hero game would do so well and would also enter to the legend of gaming history
It was mindblowing I don't think the Arkham series will ever get old
RIP Arkham new game
Thanks for this !
one of the best games ever
