I have had this car for about three months. which I am very pleased with. fuel economy is fantastic. also having a Toyota car you are getting the most reliable cars on the market
Great review, so confusing why the small car segment is disappearing - these massive cars nowadays are so difficult to get into a parking space or squeeze down a narrow road!
@@BuckleUpShow not for someone wanting a small car for nipping about shopping or shortish trips. The Aygo X looks wrong with those large diameter wheels and skinny tyres. The Aygo express had just the right balance of gizmos for a second car.
The canvas roof looks a little flimsy? Will it keep the Great British rain out? 2005 engine, too slow. But ya know, plenty of tech and economical to buy and run. A car for the cost of living crisis?
It’s a Toyota, of course it will keep the rain out. It’s rather expensive compared to rivals, so maybe not the most prudent way of beating the cost of living crisis.
@@BuckleUpShow Lots of leak problems on the Toyota Owners Forums with earlier versions. Even by 2021, 60 out of 75 not great for reliability on the Power Survey for the Aygo.
They've wasted their time.Nobody is buying it as it is ridiculously expensive for a City Car. Nearly 20k!! People are preferring a used nearly new last Gen. Toyota Aygo. Which I bought. 2020 white X-Trend model white Red detail which looks far more sportier🎉
@@BuckleUpShow I realise that, but the difference is negligible and to most non-nerdy members of the public, still small cars easy enough for urban driving and parking but easier to get in and out of the back and sit in. Aygo X is very awkward and cramped.
@@BuckleUpShow Here in Denmark all fossil cars are taxed very hard. So a luxury version like the one you drive here, with this sun roof, clima etc cost the same as all the EV's like MG4, Cupra Born, VW id3 and such ones, they are not just bigger but also much better cars. @@BuckleUpShow I think it would benefit from some hybridisation. Maybe the Yaris hybrid powertrain in it. If memory serves me well I do believe the 3 cylinder is the same one that was used in the last Aygos and even my 1.0l iQ?
The reason why it doesn't have a Turbo charger, and has flimsy rear cheap doors with no bins and pop out windows and rear glass door instead of a metal tailgate hatch, is because it wants to be an economical car with high mpg by reducing weight and saving fuel on engine performance. Of course the latest iteration is also cutting corners leaving out front Led lights throughout the range apart from the top😢

@@BuckleUpShow Thank you very much. I'm a total novice! I'm going to have to trade in my 17 yo Citroen C1 soon (which I pay £20 a year in road tax) and I've taken a shine to the Toyota X. I get so nervous buying cars, but it's got to be done! 😯 Great video btw.
I've done a check as it goes up every year with inflation, at the moment the VED (Vehicle Excise Duty - often referred to as car tax) for an auto X will be £190 a year. The change to a flat rate for all combustion engines vehicles below £40k original purchase value came in in 2017. There are lots of great cars that will be much newer than your C1 that also enjoy very low road tax though unfortunately at this point the youngest ones are now 7 years old. The exception to this is EV's, which have a £0 rate of VED at the moment.
@@BuckleUpShow Back in the late 70's I had an evening part time job with a car hire company who covered the British Leyland range, collecting hire cars from North Wales and driving them back to Manchester. Usually, six of us were driven out in a van and we scrapped it out to bag the best cars to drive home. The one that was always left to the end was the Range Rover, if one was there for return. Two reasons for that, (1) they were horrific to drive, heavy and underpowered, and (2) there was a pretty good chance of them breaking down en route - about the last thing you need at 2 am when you had to be up for work the next morning! When I look at the new prices these days I'm always reminded of the old adage "one born every minute." Oddly enough, those other much-maligned BL products of the time, Marinas and Allegros, were great to drive and I never had a problem with any of the hundreds I drove over my 4-year spell.

Don’t forget the 10 year warranty too!
Picked mine up a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it. It's the automatic model with sun roof.
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy yours!
Cracking video. I had the original Aygo. Cheap as chips to run and fun with it. Subscribed.
Thanks Kerry! I’m just glad Toyota are still committed to small city runabouts

It’s all down to emissions laws unfortunately. Hopefully small cars can come back once battery prices have gone down!
Big Mistake scraping the original 'mini' Aygo
Except in many ways that was a terrible car. This is a much better entry into the market now, with a lot more tech and refinement.

Dacia are the best for this sort of thing
I believe it's pronounced 'cross', not 'ex'.
Nice video, many thanks.
A convention not carried to either the Yaris Cross or the Bz4X
In the real world it manages quite easily around 50mpg🎉
So do it’s rivals

I’m not sure, they’ve definitely sold a fair few of them. I would still go for a Picanto or i10, though.
Would have been better with the self charging hybrid system from the Yaris
That probably wouldn’t fit and even if it did, it would be even more expensive than it already is
Mazda 2 is refreshed for 2023? Not all manufacturers have stopped the city car. Suzuki Swift? Ignis?
Mazda 2 and the Suzuki Swift are both B segment cars, city cars are A segment.

It's the 10th cheapest car on sale in the UK

i10
The i10 is much much cheaper.. So it is a clear winner.

Agreed!

It’s mainly because Toyota don’t want to spend any money developing a car this size when they have incredibly slim margins when selling it.

Not much go in Aygo. Should be OK with all the 20mph zones popping up
I don’t think it’s a problem if you’re only using the car in town, but I would want more power if I was using it regularly on A roads and motorways.
Perfect for driving in London.
I ordered one of these because it looks so camp. 😊

How come?
Really? You obviously haven't tried a Range Rover.
What are you on about Ian, Range Rovers are lovely to drive. To insure and to trust to never to go wrong is quite another thing.
