    Thank You!! You are doing a great service with these videos. The ability or inability to ride a 350 at freeway speed is the one thing holding me back with this bike. 75% of my riding is on roads in which I rarely exceed 50mph. But there is that damned commute that involves prolonged riding at 65-70mph. Nincompoop sez: "Just get a bigger bike." No. A bigger bike does not have the aesthetics I am looking for, I have a 650 Interceptor, it is capable, but it looks..uh.. modern. Read: boring. I have a 500 Classic. It has enough power, but the the vibrations and the buckboard saddle have me passing blood in my urine, a painful perineum and paresthetic hands (yes, I've tried every aftermarket remedy) . In a perfect world there would be a 350 smooth, comfortable, refined RE with a 500 cc (650cc?) single cylinder engine.. RE sez.."Fuck you, dream on". Nincompoop sez: "Just wait, there will be a 650 Classic, just like the Super Meteor." No. As much as I love the 650 engine in my Interceptor with it's glorious clutch, smooth power and 6th gear, it, again, does not have the aesthetic I am looking for. So, a beautiful 350 classic with a 70MPH capability has a Huge appeal and makes it a viable choice in the American market and a target for my Motorcycle dollars.. Once again, Thank You.

      There's 1 part in particular that I'm waiting for them to restock that is supposed to provide a huge change. Apparently with all the parts I'm installing, have yet to install, and the one I'm waiting for them to restock. The bike gains 20% horsepower. Which sounds crazy even for a small cc bike. So I'm curious how that extra HP adds to the functionality of the bike for 55+ mph commute

      Yes, The performance camshaft. Hitchcock's has a video of the Dyno testing, including a comparative power curve, most impressive. The video shows them installing the camshaft, the process appears rather straightforward, IF you have all the necessary (and specific) tools, IF you remove the engine and have it sitting on a bench in a well-lit, clean garage, and IF you are a competent motorcycle mechanic. A lot of ifs for a nincompoop such as myself who's skills are rudimentary. I've installed DNA filters and Decat pipes on my 500 Enfield's so I know I can do at least that. @@FoxParasyte

    Hi Foxxy, firstly thanks for mentioning my channel in your video.
    I enjoyed watching your video, love the filming and your presentation. Your final comments are also informative.
    Just thought I would let you know what I’m up to now.
    I’ve made a few performance upgrades to my bike. Two videos will be out in a couple of weeks time.
    The acceleration has now dramatically increased, I definitely have more top end power without affecting the lovely slow speed character of the bike.
    I don’t have the FuelX anymore and would not buy it again. I found the best way was to reset the ECU. This is easy and demonstrated in my second upcoming performance video. You’re correct you can improve the performance but not increase the top speed. This is governed by the front wheel ABS ring.
    Look out for my new videos, in my opinion it’s the best upgrade for this fabulous little bike. It’s now even more fun to ride.
    Ride safe and enjoy the bike.

      Good to hear from you. Hope I sent people your way in the process of making this video.
      That is fascinating that you can reset the ECU and it works properly. I have a Fuelx video coming out in a day or so. I've seen a lot of positives on my end but if a ECU can be played around with that makes it even better.
      Out of curiosity have you had issues with your speedo being off by a considerable margin? My top speed is 71mph according to GPS. But the speedometer says 75.
      Take care friend

    Very common problem with stainless steel bolts is if they are the same grade then they often seize when undoing. We use different grade of nut to bolt and problem solved. Helps to lubricate threads before even light tightening.

    • @FoxParasyte
      @FoxParasyte  Год назад +1

      Honestly I didn't even think about lubing the threads at the time. It makes perfect sense in theory. I guess with me installing exhausts on multiple other bikes never running into that problem prior. It never crossed my mind.

    You need to pull the fuse for the ABS sensor to get unlimited speed. You will get an engine management fault light though, and the ABS wont work. There is a different ECU fitted to some Hunter 350 for non Indian markets, that may get a top end of 85mph. Its stems from speed restrictions in Asian markets.

    It's a stainless steel nut and bolt. Stainless steel is known to bind and stick! It's not cross threaded.... It's just like chewing gum!! It sticks like shit to a blanket whenever it wants to!! The only way to remove a stuck nut and bolt is to break it or grind the bolt!! A lBIG hint to installing stainless nuts and bolts is to Always lubricate the threads of BOTH nut and bolt!! This WILL SAVE YOU HOURS OF FRUSTRATION!!

    Super helpful and well made video. I have a classic 350 also (chrome red); 800 miles. Can't help notice when your up-shift or shift points. Aren't they kinda late (at the end of the rev range); like doing 50 mph in 3rd. Unnecessary unless you are testing... which is what Foxxy was doing. Am I wrong or is this the right/best way to treat the engine day to day. Note: the yellowing on the pipes.

    • @FoxParasyte
      @FoxParasyte  Год назад +1

      The shifts and pushing the revs of the bike were more for testing.
      I'm far more relaxed on this bike with normal daily use.
      The yellowing on the pipes is normal. This is what Hitchcock says right on the product page
      "This exhaust system is not homologated for road use and as with all stainless steel exhausts, as they go through heat cycles there will be a change in colour, particularly around the header area"
      I would imagine that installing a fuel x prior to the exhaust would cause less yellowing since it's supposed to help keep the engine and exhaust at lower temps.

    Lovely city, lovely direction, lovely motorcycle (I have booked the same colour) & lovely sound.
    My questions are if you may:-
    1) If I decat & use the stock silencer will there be any increase in the thump or change in performance or fuel efficiency?
    2) You mentioned mini punjab(which is a short bottle free flow) which looks exactly like this, will it sound similar, if yes what is Hitchcock charging more for?
    3) You mentioned tuning the engine, what does it exactly mean?

    • @FoxParasyte
      @FoxParasyte  Год назад

      The city isn't so lovely lol.
      Anyway.
      1. I'm sure just a decat will make the bike louder and give it more of a thump. Performance I have no clue. I have noticed worse fuel economy but only a few MPG of a difference.
      2. I have a friend 200 miles away with a mini Punjab pipe. Next time I see him I'll have to put our bikes side by side to see or hear a difference. I think the quality of the exhausts will differ more than anything. The Punjab are mass produced in large numbers where the Hitchcock is produced in smaller quantities which usually results in a better quality product. (Not always)
      3. Well the 350s don't technically have a full tune that I'm aware of. However my general understanding is that the bikes run rich from the factory. Having additional parts makes the fuel mixture even more out of wack. So having a Fuelx will tune the fuel mixture to optimum performance. Apparently if you have performance parts on your bike and add a Fuelx it'll help balance it all out and in turn increases HP and torque.
      I have a Fuelx that I will be installing in the next video. But it's 100 degrees outside and I want nothing to do with that at the moment 😂
