I've bought my Pixel 2 days ago. I am extremely happy with it, so much I can't stop smiling and giggle when I think of it. My first nice phone of my own choice, not mercy hand out or 15f worth "anything to call and txt only" in 5 years. 1st time dropped. Hit floor at "funny angle". I have BPD, which includes severe attachment, abandonment issues; I immediately got triggered and had very bad panic attack etc. It's when I watched your video I stabilised. Thank you so, so much. You really helped me today. I appreciate, particularly 'mental fix' part. It means a lot. Thank you x
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! You're a life saver!! I watched a couple of videos, and this was by far the easiest to understand, with the least amount of steps/instructions. It worked like a charm my first time around trying this! Thank you again!
@@nevau it's really not hard at all. You just need a little patience. I do them sitting in my recliner while watching tv. I've rebuilt several pixel 3a xl and 2xl phones like that. Even with my chihuahua sitting with me. Really it is kinda easy tbh.
Buy from a reputable local seller, if there is an issue you can always return for a full refund. Most of the available screens are genuine parts from dismantled phones.
You don't. Go to iFixit.com for parts. You'll thank me later. If you go ebay try to get oem pulled from a phone like yours. Make sure they guarantee it is tested and working if iFixit don't carry yours. IFixit carries oem as their lowest grade. If their is someone making one that is an upgrade or better than oem they will carry that. That is where my displays for my pixel 2xl's that I've fixed came from. Better than original. The ones they sent me will rival samsung quality any day of the week. Customer service is second to none also. I had one that just didn't look quite right. They sent me a replacement with a card proving they tested it first and told me not to worry about sending the defective one back. They did the same with 2 batteries. They are awesome.
@@jeremytart639 I agree. I ordered one off Amazon and it was garbage. Lasted three days. Returned it and got one from ifixit and it's still perfect several months later
@@BearAmps That's where i order all my displays from. I refurb and resell as a side hobby. Building gaming pc's has gotten too expensive now so i got into phones.
@the fix - My Pixel 3 rear camera stopped working, no software issues as the device displays error with the camera. do you think the rear camera replacement will fix the problem?
They are getting hard to find since the pandemic cut off supply lines. You can try independent websites for phone/lcd repair sites. There are plenty to choose from and use PayPal to pay (they will guarantee your purchase)(safe)
Most likely iFixit. They have the best quality. That's where I get all my displays and parts from. Not the absolute cheapest but the hands down best quality and customer service if you need a part warrantied. They have tools and complete teardowns also.
How do you replace just the glass? My display works fine but the glass is shattered. I bought the 3a glass part off ebay which I imagine is a lot cheaper than buying a new panel.
@@deanopain just get the display from iFixit.com and follow this guy's video. The displays are better quality than the one you shattered. They're reasonable and if you order the kit it comes with the tools. They also have complete teardowns guides for your phone on their website. The teardown guide is free to use. They are not hard to do at all. You just have to be patient. I just did 2 of them last week sitting in my recliner. No bullshit. You got this 100%
The glass is much cheaper but the original glass is glued with loca to the oled panel. That oled panel is as thin as a sheet of paper, and made of glass itself. If you've never done it you have maybe 5% chance of not killing the panel. If you have experience and all the correct tools you have a 50/50 shot.
So you didn't show us how to replace a cracked screen you showed us our to replace the LCD unit show your title to the video is there a crap I just want to replace the screen not the LCD

well, I have just seperated my screen/ glass and cleaned it all up, thanks, was a bit more stubborn than your lovely vid, but all ok this far.
Thanks a lot for the video. I did it for first time and it worked just like a charm!
Problem is a new screen (with a new digitizer) is absurdly priced.
Where you bought the display?
Thank you for watching, let me know if you need any help regarding this repair.
I wanna change only the screen and not the LCD. How do I do that? Thanks much in advance 😊
Nice video! Where can one find an official replacement screen for Pixel 3a?
Thank you very much for a reply
Same, I'm looking to replace glass only and not whole LCD

i was thinking about fixing mine but after watching this its clear to me I should just buy a new one. But thank you, you did a good job
Try it, give it a shot. It’s not as bad as it looks.

Wonderful tutorial, worked like a charm. Them you so much
What is that heating tool that you use? How much heat does it need?
On low or you can use a hair dryer which is cheaper but less powerful
It is an air soldering iron. I bought one for 28.00 on amazon. Search and you will find it.
Would a hair dryer suffice instead of a heat gun
Yes, as it doesn’t need much heat
How do you choose a quality replacement in the sea of ebay.? Any key words to look for or avoid

Is it possible to separate a cracked glass screen from the LCD and only replace the glass screen?
It is possible, but very tricky on these
Men, where are you buy the new lcd ?
I will add the link today
Is liquid adhesive better than tape?
I use the liquid
Nice, man. Real nice.
A FixIt phone rep said my lcd and screen need replacing-that means this method would be no good for me, correct?

Is there a digitizer or the whole LCD screed need to be replaced?
The whole thing is one piece, you can even buy it attached to the frame (more expensive but less work)
It costs more than the phone or equivalent to say the least 🙁
@@AntonioLopez-uj7pu It cost me roughly a fifth of what I paid for the phone. Probably very dependent on where in the world you are.

It is a very hard difficult process, requires the use of uv glue (loca) it is possible but very delicate. I usually only have a 60-70 percent success

how to replace only the glass if the LCD is already working still?
That is a Tedious job that requires special tools.
how do you heat the phone if you dont have that heating device? hair dryer?
Yes, hair dryer works. Not much heat is required
How about replace screen glass google pixel 3 ??
what is the cost?
Looks like I'll to use glue instead of double sided tape pressing along the edges caused a crack and killed the whole display.
Check make sure the frame edges are clean from any broken glass shards....
How about pixel 3???
Idk had to use a T3 torx
I listed in the description a t4 Torx, that seemed to work for me

There is a circle adhesive tape that hold the fingerprint sensor in place, you would have to remove the logic board to repair this.
