The top microphone isn't shown to be removed in this video but you'll need to do that as well. It's held in place with some adhesive but pretty easy to remove.
Just so everyone knows: You can STOP before step 4. Removal of the battery is NOT NECESSARY. Remove the screen the same way you would have in their Pixel 3 DIY. Place screen and then do everything from motherboard removal backwards and you're done.
How did you remove the screen? in the Pixel 3 video, it says "just break and clean away the old screen". However, they don't show how to do it. I am scared of damaging the phone worse without proper guidance.
@@sinanegilmez you literally break the screen. Put a razer between the body and glass and peel it away. The screen itself under the glass is very flexible and glued so you peel that away as well. The glass will likely pull away in one piece.
You do not need to remove the whole motherboard or the battery. Remove the screen but leave the connector. Remove the back and only remove the bar on the right (4 screws) exposing the cables below the bar. Disconnect all the cables including the LCD cable. Then with a plastic spludger pry up the motherboard from the bottom right corner and remove the screen cable from the front. Reverse. You are going to need the correct glue and remove the old glue to maintain the waterproofness. You can buy a patterned sticker for the front and a new whole back but I don't know how well they keep out water. If you're going to pay someone best get a new battery atthe same time.
Attention: This guide seems to be made for those who bought a display unit with frame!!! Those like me who bought just the display may stop disassembling right after removing the motherboard at step 3! Continue replacing the old display with the new one! Be careful: There are some long screws and some short ones. Keep in mind what places they had! For most people - like me - it should be enough to replace just the broken front glass for only a few bucks and fix the new one with Loca glew and UV light in minutes instead of hours! But I haven´t seen a guide here for Pixel owners!
the plastic bezel that goes around the screen is has a 1 inch chunk broken off. should this be installed before or after the screen is in place? thanks!

My phone randomly seems to have died, but I think my screen just went out. I plugged into charger and can feel the battery warming. Plugged into my computer, which I can't access files but it recognized a new device. Any idea if my phone is just be requiring a new screen? Thanks!
This is going to be a pain in the ass compared to the screen I replaced on the regular Pixel 3...UGH. At least the earpiece isn't flimsy as all hell. I ripped the cable during repair.
I have do all the steps like in the video, all of things works well except the sensors. No active edge, no temp sensors, no gyroscope... Why is this happening??? Its posible that I broke something???
you don't need to remove all this bullshit, just the front and back and the right side metal bracket on the back, a slight pressure from the front on the motherboard allows you to slip the screen cable in.
Do not attempt this. One wrong move and your phone is done for. This repair will take at least 6 hours, and is not worth completing. You can have the phone repaired for $269.99.
@@sinanegilmez The price went up from now. 100% not worth the repair. If anything, you are better off just buying another, or an iPhone (which is more bang for the buck), or a Pixel 3a which is nearly as good.
Where? They make you change the battery and back too you just can't replace the glass. Google won't let repair places do just the glass it's a whole kit. I had to pay 350. Google shouldn't be able to do that when we own the dam phone

Hey, can you please share a link for the glue, that has been used on the speaker and vibration as well as an adhesive for the battery. Thanks.
Thank you❤ good and clear instructions

For the folks trying to do this at home, it looks like the glue he's using is a T-7000 glue
What is the tapeyou used under the battery?

Awesome

What is the name of the music playing on the video?
Is it possible to replace the screen without completing the disassembly?
Well, for the design you have to disassemble at least the back cover, motherboard and battery.
Glue suggestions
Is it still waterproof after you put the new screen?
Once it was repaired, it will loose waterproof.
@@EricWitrigs In your other videos, Samsung note 9 the display is changed without the mid aluminum frame but why can't in pixel 3?????
Mine felt into water and doesn't work again
Love please!?
I bought a broken 3 XL on Ebay and attempted this. I freaking destroyed the phone trying to take it apart.

imma just pay the 300 to get someones eles to do it
