Agree. I have a 21 Q7 and LOVE it. Everyone who rides in mine absolutely is stunned by the interior, the quality and Everyone comments on the touch screens. I do not know how anyone is knocking them. They are very functional and are very easy to operate
bOi LivEsOn yeah touchscreens may be cool features and have more good modes and functions, but they are really annoying when you're actually driving and need to adjust some temperature or sounds 🤦♂️ buttons are easier to use during driving cuz we memorize the shape and location of them

We saw one on motorway in France and it looked absolutely gorgeous. Looks are subjective however, Q7 is the best SUV I have enjoyed as a passenger - no body roll noticeable unlike in Range Rover.
I am totally agree with the down side of the touchscreen, is the treand it is slick and nice but when you are driving is very distraction to use. Will be better if they keep the rotor so we can have both options.
I have a Q8 and I don’t get what the fuss is over the screens. Combined with voice control, the virtual cockpit controls on the wheel and the myAudi app the screens are hardly touched. It’s not like you’re continually changing the AC settings, radio, detailed car settings all the time. Voice control works well simply say I’m too warm / cold or tell it what temp to set. Simple. I reckon I spend 3 seconds a week wiping the screens clean with a glass cleaning cloth. Not exactly strenuous.
Couldn’t disagree more about the infotainment system, I don’t think there’s a better interior in any car. looks so much more elegant than the older version, which looks dated and clunky to me, but hey it’s just my opinion!
The benefit to the new MMI system, is that it is voice controlled, through the likes of Alexa. So, instead of using the touch screen to change climate, etc, you can tell the car through voice control, to “set climate to 69 degrees [Fahrenheit]” etc.
The guy clearly isn’t much familiar with that...I’ve been using both voice control and manual with no issues at all for over a year...The funniest thing is that 99% of the time you make really small adjustments within a 4 degree range and usually not that often. What I would really be conserved about is getting my radiator damaged through those large openings in the grill. What bothers me the most is the default setting to cut the engine off when you come to traffic lights or stop signs. IMO that feature should be enabled at drivers will...not by default, it’s really annoying...
Firstly this car has a MUCH improved exterior (not ugly) and secondly I think you should mention the styling more on cars because it can be quite important for some people and is ALWAYS worth mentioning...
If I was in the market for a Q7, I would buy the previous one. This one simply is lacking. I don’t understand how they could mess up on a newer model. This will provide more proof of going newer isn’t always the best.
Q R It’s practically the same car, only the infotainment got updated and a bit of styling. Love the new lights though and I’ll probably swap my 2017 Q7 for this one this year
I think the facelift made this beautiful car even better looking. I have a 2013 TDI and it's my favorite car I've ever owned (and I have owned a lot of great cars). I have the Prestige model with the air suspension and I use all of my options frequently. I would love to buy a new one, but I believe I would miss my 675 mile range on a full tank, and I am not too keen on the new touch screen. The new touch screen is beautiful, but I believe it will be much harder to use while you're driving. I will wait and see...........
Completely agree, I own the 2017 Q7, it was ahead of its time compare to the GLS/X5 in 2017. But I will not be continuing with Audi or Porsche, because I would NOT want to crash my car while trying to set the temperature. Honda at one point took the radio tune knob off their civic/accord and put it with touchscreen feature, it was met with so much inconvenience that honda had to put it back in in newer versions. we only got 2 eyes and they need to stay on the road
first, i love the 2017 Q7 right now and im not saying this is ugly, i think this will look better then the old ones when you see it on the roads. The problem is everyone jumps to conclusion and say its ugly just because they never seen a car design like that while everything will grow slowly and will like it more in the future. just like a new iphone when it drops, everyone starts saying it looks ugly but then when they see alot of celebrities have it, they change their mind
I exprienced chemical smell from my 2018 Audi Q7. On the beginning,I thought it's smell of new car, but the smell didn't go away after two years. Many owners that I know had this issue with their Q7.
Oh dear, no! Loud brash and ugly faces were started by BMW (🤮), why oh why are Audi following suit? I'm guessing the China and US markets? And a Q7 is a lumpy SUV, not a high performance uber-wagon like the RS6.
I totally agree that the touch screen temperature controls suck! Looks cool but it is NOT easy to use, please Audi, put the knob controls back for climate control.
Prefer it in every way to the previous one. I drove a Q8 last week and I didn't find it difficult to use and I prefer the touch screens. You get used to them in a few hours and then everything else feels low tech.
Is it me or does anyone else think that the 2019 Q7 has a cooler headlamp design? I felt like that we super iconic but now the headlamps looks like it's ripped off of a Hyundai.
I think the the pre-facelift car looked better, I was hoping the facelift would bring it closer looking to the Q8, that said I don’t hate it. Adjusting temperature? You know you can do that by voice right? And you don’t have the lame prompts of “hey Mercedes” or “hey bmw”, you do it with a button on the steering wheel and yes that was a bull in the paddock albeit a young one so not 100% sure wether it still had its balls or not but it was certainly a male.
exactly this car has some crazy features, you would be surprised.. one of them is telling you when the traffic lights turns green/red or tells you how fast to drive to get every light green and thats one of hundred features lol
Good review. The styling is fine and it's an attractive proposition with the air suspension. I would try it to see whether the seats are as comfortable as I find BMW. If not I would go for the X5.
I like the new design.. The previous one was boxy this one is more sleek. The front looks more modern the rear is better and the side profile is the best among all german rivals (Personally I like the wagonish silhouette of Q7) .... The issue of touchscreens is debatable but overall its a welcome midlife improvement👍🏼
I’ll happily keep my 2017 Q7. Both Audi and BMW newest offering of front grills are less pleasing than their predecessors. My MMI w/CarPlay is very easy to use. I love my A/C dials. I don’t want to hunt and peck my way around adjusting the temperature. I just hope enough people buy this disappointing iteration to still allow Audi to remain solvent and learn from their mistakes.
I have 2017 Q7 and love the button, i just remember where they are and a simple touch can get what i want. but i guess touch screen is the future...every mfg is switching to that direction...
I’m good with a myriad of added imbedded features. However, having to search in a screen and then peck at it while driving leads to distraction and serious endangerment.
Id go for the gle or x5, leaning more towards gle cos of the tech. Q7 looks beautiful but as u said, those touchscreens they started putting in their new cars are a mistake
Daniel Schloss i would love to have touch screen for apple car play but this is too much, still prefer the old style with all the buttons and dial for temp and anything else
This is the Q7 that the 2015 model should have been. It’s shape is more like the mark 1, air suspension as standard like the mark 1 and petrol on offer again like the mark 1. I’ve avoided the 2015 shape Q7’s but one of these new ones will be on my radar for my next car 👍🏻
For what it's worth I would MUCH rather have all the controls as good old traditional knobs and buttons. It's far less distracting. The styling is fine and not controversial, and I think is best summed up by a friend who said, 'The X5 is like a nightclub, the Q7 is like a gentleman's club' - and he drives an M4.
Got to agree about the loss of the rotary controls. Also noticed those quilted leather seats are only available on top of the range ‘Vorsprung’ trim level. The third row-seats are plain and not quilted which is misleading and a bit odd to say the least!
Take a Q7 out and floor it around a corner in sports mode. Compare the xc90 doing the same on a corner and tell me which one will take you home in one piece
When the first iPhone was released 11-12 years back, some people didn’t like the lack of buttons, now most phones are touch screens. Please stop complaining that you don’t have a dial as you can change some of the common settings via voice control
Grey Phantome Not an accurate comparison. Notice all the people on their phones with buried heads? A dial doesn’t have to be looked at when in traffic at highway speeds.
Scott Hager you’re right to an extent. having a physical dial limits the functions. Touch screen is not the solution either, but it’s a move towards the right direction in terms of human - machine interface. Haptic feedback enabled touch screens along with a very good voice recognition system will eliminate the need to take your eyes off the road. An AI voice recognition that learns the driver would be ideal
Audi: releases 2nd gen Q7 Community: eww, it looks like a wagon lol Audi: facelifts it Community: eww, previous gen looked perfect, this is one is ugly. get your shit together, people
To be honest, I disliked the previous one. The new one looks much better imho. Interior is not that great with those touch screens imho. I’d like more buttons and knobs please.
This new dual screen set up is why BMW’s are the best choice. It’s awful using these screens, the 7 series gave touch buttons which function far better and more safely. These screens look cool but you will want to go back to dials and rotary knobs. Plus all the crappy plastic they use now just creates rattles all over.
Thanks for your review. I have a 2017 Q7 etron (Phev) I find it very comfortable and very fast! It would be great if you could do a comparison between Audi and Range Rover Phev’s That would be very interesting test. Thanks!
Greetings WC, I just subscribed to your information servicr. I read all the above comments re. the 2020 Audi Q 7. Interesting, however I feel (from the comments) that many of these folks are "kick the tires & fill er' up an go!" I've built two engines ( 409' Chevy mill and a 303' Olds mill. And engine size /cubic inch, change my oil 3k - 5k, rotate my tires regularly and check my tire air pressure weekly, and as you know only Chevrolet can check the transmission fluid, but Chevy does it for us. No cost. Based on WC? We'll read, research and rely on the following: history, pros & cons, interior & exterior, amenities of standard and upgrades, for all operating components and of course rims & tires and as always .................the cost. So, naysayers I appreciate your comments, however plus or minus. That's what makes America so Great! Free Speach. Regards, Ralph O.
I'm not a fan of everything touchscreen, prefer physical dials than the one seen in this car. I'm a happy owner of the old A3, I don't think I'll buy another Audi anytime soon.
They should have just copied the massive infotainment screen from the Touareg. It's a dream to use on the move, being set higher on the dash with icon controls big and responsive. Also the boot is larger, it's beautifully quiet and refined, and quicker than theV6 Q7 diesel. And much cheaper. But without the badge cachet so important for many buyers..oh, and that's a bull, no question!
Did a great job at ruining the simplistic and elegant design of the pre-facelift model, especially that aluminium strip at the back, that shit looks terrible
I don’t get why Car manufactures think slapping 2 iPads on the dash to replace all dials, switches is a good idea. Obviously it’s to save money on dials, switches and toggles but surely it’s incredibly dangerous to ask someone to operate 2 iPads when driving. I can see the UK government releasing some sort of law on manufactures to ban these infotainment systems.
I typically never respond to anything on RUclips but when I see someone not ticking all the boxes, it’s irritating, regardless of Brand. I am a fan of BMW-MERCEDES However As an ABS,(Audi brand specialist) been with the brand 13yrs and counting) the attack on the New MMI system is uncalled for. Taken from me, who was the biggest critic of the new system without ever having operated it, now prefers it. Although I understand a traditional knob, this screen set up is better. It is if not the MOST responsive touch-screen currently in the Auto Industry supporting Multi-touch. This “reviewer” failed to relay to viewers exactly how quickly you can change climate. Instead he makes a lifeless attempt at sliding his finger up-down then saying it’s terrible. He also failed to relay to viewers that this new MMI system supports natural speech selection, enabling you to set, turn off or on climate or MMI functions via voice control. If your going to review it, actually REVIEW IT and mention the features that truly set it apart as since 2006 it’s been one of Audi’s BEST selling models and highly rated SUVs...your review title is an all out attack lol Lastly, in 2019 the Audi Q7’s retractable-screen wasn’t so “retractable” irritating customers as the screen is mildly intrusive. See the 2020 Audi Q5. That my friends is a ridiculously lousy set up...sorry Audi, but there are 15 19” Q5s sitting on my lot that are moving slower than maple syrup in winter, because you tacky glued on a non-touchscreen iPad to the dash as an afterthought. Fortunately 2020 Audi Q3s we can’t keep in stock!!!
I have the 2016 Q7 S line with air suspension amongst other options. It’s principal use is to tow my 1500kg caravan which it does with such ease that it’s without any question the best tow car that I’ve ever owned. Fuel consumption however when towing is nothing to brag about but solo it is just amazing. Would I consider upgrading to this 2020 version? No.
So there are all kinds of praises for Tesla's touch screen but now that Audi has a touch screen reviewer doesn't like it... I think the new interior is beautiful. That's where you live and Audi has great quality interiors... Still lovin my 2014 A6 TDI.
I would get the x5 since it really is sporty and handles way more better then the Q7. Also the Audi’s quality is the same as the old model and that model was not good since it did not have real leather and very plastic compared to the x5.
Shiny, shiny surfaces everywhere! Finger mark magnets! Lovely to operate when stationary but disastrous when in motion. Retrogressive, stupid and potentially dangerous.
Shiny gimmick to attract stupid bling bling lovers.Oohh look this one is better, because it has a touchscreen control dashboard.Yes it is better, because everything in the future will be touchscreen.Yes touchscreen is better, because buttons are old and they are hard to press!😂
That touch screens looks great, and your opinion is backwards. Get used to some advanced tech that has the opportunity to advance even more. So really, get with it. Your opinion is stiff.
Not needing 7 seats, Q8 is the Audi to go to if you want an SUV. Residual value fact factored in, choosing an Audi over Mercedes (Benz being the worst on reliability amongst German cars in latest consumer reports) and ofcourse over RR, then Audi is the way to go. Ummm, where is the poll?

I'l choose the Q7 no doubt & this car will be the winner in the next test between 3 german.
I think the pre-facelift front end looks better, but the revised rear is a massive improvement. I’d personally stick with the X5 though.

Thanks for your review. I have a 2017 Q7 etron (Phev) I find it very comfortable and very fast! It would be great if you could do a comparison between Audi and Range Rover Phev’s That would be very interesting test. Thanks!
Mercedes has a GLS and BMW an X7 for comfortable 7 ferrying
Lunga Swazi yes but pricing puts those cars in a different category
@@morganoxer5560 Not true. They're in the same price bracket
If you choose to have a spare wheel does still take the place of a seat on the 3rd row?
Not my cup of tea but has a very lux interior. I love the Q8 tho.
Regards,
Ralph O.
I'm not a fan of everything touchscreen, prefer physical dials than the one seen in this car. I'm a happy owner of the old A3, I don't think I'll buy another Audi anytime soon.
Base 2,9m, how about it turn and rotation number
They should have just copied the massive infotainment screen from the Touareg. It's a dream to use on the move, being set higher on the dash with icon controls big and responsive. Also the boot is larger, it's beautifully quiet and refined, and quicker than theV6 Q7 diesel. And much cheaper. But without the badge cachet so important for many buyers..oh, and that's a bull, no question!
I like the Lincoln aviator best.
Why is the UK still so wedded to diesel? Bizarre.
Fuel is expensive over here lol, a petrol powered monstrosity like this would murder anyone's bank account 🤪
My Audi S5 does 18.3 mpg! It eats through the petrol... I’ve had my fun for a couple of years, I’m going back to a diesel 😂.
Did a great job at ruining the simplistic and elegant design of the pre-facelift model, especially that aluminium strip at the back, that shit looks terrible
Must be honest - much prefer my 2018 SQ7 - I dont like the facelift and my car is the best I have ever had
If your going to review it, actually REVIEW IT and mention the features that truly set it apart as since 2006 it’s been one of Audi’s BEST selling models and highly rated SUVs...your review title is an all out attack lol
Lastly, in 2019 the Audi Q7’s retractable-screen wasn’t so “retractable” irritating customers as the screen is mildly intrusive.
How good is this car off Road. Can it handle driving on long dusty gravel roads. On the regular
where's the petrol? not on audi's website
Those amazing grille good enough for my kitchen.
Just use voice control to change the climate control temperature!
i think the older one is better
The front looks worse now? How did they manage that?!
When does this get released to the uk ?
Hi Faye - it's available to order from September with first deliveries in October.
This is way better then the 2018 version
X5 much better in every way and most importantly it retains physical buttons!
I would get the x5 since it really is sporty and handles way more better then the Q7. Also the Audi’s quality is the same as the old model and that model was not good since it did not have real leather and very plastic compared to the x5.
Why it is not launched in India . I want to drive this car
Tablet on wheels is wrong direction..
Those touch screens started to make squeak noises and heat damaged if you park under direct sunlight.
Finally a touch screen! Good job Audi, it took you a while to do it but it's great!!!!!!!
Looks better
That touch screens looks great, and your opinion is backwards.
Get used to some advanced tech that has the opportunity to advance even more. So really, get with it. Your opinion is stiff.
I don't like this facelift, now it looks as a Korean SUV
nothing wrong with that
Not needing 7 seats, Q8 is the Audi to go to if you want an SUV. Residual value fact factored in, choosing an Audi over Mercedes (Benz being the worst on reliability amongst German cars in latest consumer reports) and ofcourse over RR, then Audi is the way to go. Ummm, where is the poll?
Dont like it. I don’t know if it’s just this spec but it looks cheap from the outside
