Dinner guest #1: Whats that?
Dinner guest #2: Its timpano. Its a secret recipe that they brought from their hometown. I only heard about it.
It also says something about table manners.... Развлечения
Love when they slapped christiano
Oh man...I would eat that forever...;p Still, the ending scene where Tucci fries up a simple omelette..and some easy bread...all in one take...damn it makes me wanna eat! :) Even though Minnie Driver destroys my appetite in anything she shows up in...I still recommend this flick :)
@patchbus ...yes, they both mean "large kettle drum" ....like you see in the symphony.
This amazing dish gets it's name from the shape.
Unfortunately, I don't speak Italian. Thank you for the comment. I will add "timballo" to the tags because, evidently, "timpano" and "timballo" are either similar or related.
My cousin, Jeannie Voltz, was the food stylist on this film.
She made the timpano seen here.
How awesome!!! I love how they kiss it. Thanks for adding this gem of a comment to this tribute...quite a fine film in so many different ways.
"Lu timpan" is dialect from the province of Teramo, where this recipe is from
..looks like one big lasgana cake.. yummyyy :)
@patchbus @ituim2007 No. His name is Giovanni Scappin and he is from Northern Italy, Tuscany perhaps, l forget
@ituim2007 Thank you for the clarification!
C'mon guys! That's TIMBALLO not TIMPANO (wth!)
Timballo (how we say in Abruzzo) is the same as LASAGNE or Vincisgrassi (how we say in Marche)
MITTICOOOOOOOOOOO
@zsimon21 Thanks! Chef Scappin's interesting bio is available at the Culinary Institute of America website! (ciachef.edu)
Timballo is Timbano in the sicilian dialect :D
@gymnema I wonder if the film's gastronomical consultants were sicillian
timballo= salt-pie (more or less)
timpano= eardrum (or kettledrum)
;)
It's yummy in any language.
In italian is: Timballo!
when did Borat learn to cook like that?
Comunque si chiama "TImballo"
