    Igor Thanks so much. I played one of these openings for the first time in a tournament with a two hour time control. I beat my opponent in 30 minutes who was rated 100 points higher than me.

    At 7.26 any serious Pirc player knows the move is Nfd7 nullifying thoise lines

      Check the database, only 27% plays Nfd7 (best move) while 71% plays dxe5. So, the lines showing is mostly a win for white ;-)

    Igor, in the Mengarini, what do you do if black just goes ...8. a6 to stop the knight advancing?

    Reffering to the last example (number one trap) : what if my opponent plays d5 after ng5??? The bishop is cut off so it does not work anymore or does it?

    Yes. And i played haxo opening on beginner mode. And the black conputer did wonky shit that put my game out of sorts. The multitude of options and moves by a computer outplayed the haxo open.

    I'm a d4 rather than e4 player, but your line against the Pirc defense is common in the Jobava London against the King's Indian.

    I opened with kings pawn to pawn 3 black moved Q pawn to Q pawn 3. I moved Q k ight to Q 3 black took my Kings pawn. Threatening Q knight.

    I like the look of the bishop opening but when I try to play it I find black moves pawn to d5 not d6 after a few moves and you end up with no advantage after a big exchange of pieces. What’s the best strategy here?

    5:45 does Blacks queen to D7 help block the knight fork ? Also even if the fork happens ? Seems the Mengarini version relies on Black not moving the queen

      Qd7 is best move, but it's already too late for black since the white pawn is at d6. Engine says +7.50 to white so black is totally lost in this position.

    What happens when you play this but black does not exchange any pawns from the beginning on the Mengarini variation ? He did not exchange on pawn e4 and e3. but the opening is still as is ? He moves from the center to dd5 and opens e5?!

    In the Bishop's opening, Black is clearly castling into it with 0-0, so would clear up his queenside.

    In the Italian game, the irony is that the opponents took my knight and guards bishops and so the trap with opening the queen to bishop failed altogether.

      I like it too: when they bite it's really fun and otherwise you're doing a regular solid opening. Still, the Haxo gambit and the bishop's opening in this video look good too. I wonder if switching make sense.

      @@CristanMeijer I don't know what you mean about switching but if you mean switching openings, you don't have to forget the last opening that you really like, like once I just played petrov's defense for no absolute reason (maybe because I hate playing Sicilian over and over again) but I still play Sicilian if I know my opponent is skilled then I would need my best opening. Also when the opponent plays 3. ...D4 I cry inside just a little bit💀

      @@alae-eddinearbane2604 then I play 4.F4 X E5 - Nc3 X E5 5. D4, so it's like the Halloween gambit but I still have a knight and a gigantic center, I recommend 3. ... D4 so both you and white share a center no matter what pawn they take
