Food allergy tests aren’t helpful

- I made the same mistake you may be making now.
Early in my career, I used food allergy tests and relied on them for answers.
But now more evidence shows that food allergy testing isn’t accurate.
That’s why our clinic uses labs only as one-fourth of the data to formulate a treatment plan.
We also factor in a patient’s:
👉 Response to treatment
👉 Symptoms
👉 Medical history

I took both a delayed food allergy test and sensitivity test. After dropping all the foods on the list, my severe depression was gone. Was it a placebo? No. Years later I ate sunflower seeds. I developed severe back pains and then the depression came the day after. I dusted off the test result in my office and found out that sunflower seeds was a "borderline" food. Within three days of dropping it, the back pains and depresison left. No placebo effect there. I was finally cured with antibiotics thanks to a Chinese doctor who traced the whole problem to bad gut bacteria.
IGG Testing was 90% accurate for my daughter. She was truly allergic to 30+ foods when she was little. I think a distinction needs to be made for igg, iga, etc
which test did you take?
If you want to avoid having to differentiate between allergy testing vs sensitivity or intolerance testing, I’d advise updating the title, at least? And perhaps be mindful of this in future videos when addressing topics such as these because if you change the language, you change the meaning of you’re saying, and that’s how misunderstanding/misinformation can transpire. Pardon, this is not meant to be a harsh accusation but rather a well-intentioned critique.
Can you explain each seperately
They told me i was intolerant but my throat is closing, passing out, projectile vomiting, hives swelling. I have been testing wanting answers for years omg
Intolerant?
I’m so confused. Are you talking about food sensitivities or food allergies here?
Food sensitivities. Actual allergy tests ARE helpful. Great point.
But your title says food allergy tests
I have slight disagreement. While it could be placebo, i know someone who took it and it was actually very accurate with what we already knew they were unable to eat. Everything from the cortisol to the microbiome stuff was predicted beforehand. This was a hair based sample test. I think this stuff might be in early stages, but they seem to do a good job of making a rough estimate
Is there a video where you go more in-depth about this concept? I'd like to know why the food allergy tests aren't accurate
Great question, and yes! ruclips.net/video/xchKchnowgg/видео.html This video doesn't have chapters, so just FYI that you can skip to about 23:55 to get right to food testing. (The front part is about SIBO tests.)

Ok so what r we supposed to do when we wanna figure out what allergies we have
Great question. So if you're talking about actual allergies, then definitely get tested. If you're talking about food sensitivities, then elimination diets are a great option. Essentially you choose a diet that cuts the main culprits, and then you reintroduce foods over time to pinpoint what causes issue for you. You can do paleo, low fodmap, etc. Does that make sense?
@@DrRuscioDC Ahhh okay thanks
How do you choose the food that ‘is the culprit’ without knowing which one they are? 🤷♀️
I’ve been gluten free for years
I found out I’m allergic to a bunch of other things dairy eggs carrots cucumbers whey coconut etc.
I stopped eating them all cold Turkey
It was rough at first been then I had one good day, I was only eating the foods it said I could have, they are balanced out and healthy. Then I lost all my energy, I suddenly have acne I’ve had clear skin my whole life. I have body aches and I’m miserable. I’m one month in and ready to give up.
@@sunsetluxe3772 Research IgG tests. They seem like a scam to me. In fact, scientists think that a high IgG level could actually be a good thing. I tested high for all the foods I eat daily. Just a coincidence I happen to be allergic to all the foods I eat regularly? I had no symptoms either.
Gluten is likely the only thing you should actually be staying away from. Wheat in the US has a lot of mold in it. That's the problem.
So we re supposed to just die
Who are some innovative voices on food allergies? I know there’s more that can be done for my kids food allergies than I’m being led to believe by most of the available and popular information on the matter.
Crap. I just had it done..the MRT
Uh wish I watched this before I spent $180
Why isn’t it helpful?
@@Fatima-ky7dqBecause it's really only showing you the foods that you eat regularly.
MRT test is more accurate than IgG
Iwas told by medical professional to do whole 30 to identify and it worked
Bruh they didn't even HAVE the things I'm allergic to 🫠 I tested negative for everything else (obviously) so they said I've got none
💀 bros even berated me that their office is for people with "real health concerns"
