The aircraft involved, a Boeing 767-300ER, was operating as LOT Polish Airlines' scheduled international service from Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey, to Warsaw.
0:40 “In the flight deck, there is a legendary Captain who is the most experienced dude ever and he’s flown this plane for two decades!
...Beside him is this dude.”
That was really funny for some reason.
‘The first officer is just some guy who’s happy to be there’
Well that Cap was a pro. The way he put her down was incredible. I was expecting the plane to snap in half at any moment.
The people onboard said it was smoother than a regular landing. Makes me proud to be Polish
that's just- WOW
Great skills from the Polish pilots there
I was shocked how smoothly it landed. Like wtf, they put it down like a knife slicing into warm butter.
When Lot has a smoother landing without gear than Ryanair with gear...
SirLoserGuy really old joke, but your username explains it all.
Expoxsed Ok?
Vice 88 it wasn’t aimed at your ass.
@@teevee7678 he's probably mad it wasnt, the fcking wet towel
Yes, that's right :) hahaha
That pilots had a LOT of skill!
Ba dum tshh*
skills yes...brains little...popped breaker and landed on belly LOLOLOLOLOL
Aviation Spirit I see what you did there!👍🏻
Right, Mark F, so what if the captain couldn't see behind his seat -- a *stewardess* could have found the breaker and saved the aircraft. It was a beautiful wheels-up landing by pilots who totally failed to think through the problem.
Hs Hs...that was my point
that was a perfect landing, that pilot feathered it beautifully
Please don't have my sword-hand cut off for saying so (username), but I think you refer to the pilot's landing flare? Feathering, if I'm not mistaken, refers to tilting of propeller blades to a lower angle of attack to reduce drag on inoperable prop-engines. The flare is the act of pulling up just before touch-down to reduce vertical speed.
In short, I agree. Damned impressive landing. I wonder what the bump felt like to the passengers - it looked almost imperceptible in the footage of the incident!
Hooray everyone! We finally get a happy ending. Yay!
Congratulations to the pilots! Their experience and coolness under pressure brought this plane down safely and expertly. Their awards are well-deserved.
you do such an awesome job of these videos man, I must have watched 20 in a row now
You’re taking off for a ~9 hour flight to Poland from New Jersey and there’s leaking hydraulics... should we turn around or keep going? Let’s keep going! I’m not sure I like this decision.
dude... im a real pilot who had to divert before. Its a much harder decision to make than you think because if you divert and your airline considers the diversion unnecessary, you face a hefty fine and the possibility of losing your job if there was no proper reason before. I had a hydraulics problem like that 3 times (not the popped breaker or the gear up belly landing) and the first time i diverted and i'm lucky to have my job. He made the right decision to continue i think and i wouldn't have found the breaker either.
@@captaincathal5772 ????He wouldn't make such a "right" decision without pressure of their stupid airlines(LOT). He would never loose his job if decide to turn bloody around! Nine hrs of risk flying to Warsaw ! Reduculous.!
"Landing with the gear up is almost always preferable to running out of fuel while trying to troubleshoot a gear problem"
well, youll learn something new every day, my dumbass would have it run out of fuel and stop mid air, then extract passangers with long hemp ropes
yeah i was just joking but how can you ditch passenger plane
that would make an akward final announcement, captain standing near the door, putting on parachute
"ladies and genleman this is your captain speaking, company decided to complement everybody with free drinks, stewardesses will start handing them out in a minute, please enjoy the rest of the flight, ta ta"
can pilots even evacuate thru that small windows in the front?
oh ok, i didn't know water landing was commonly called ditching
hey dude ypu seem to know a lot about planes, does crew on commercial flights ever equipped with parachutes, like even just when flying empty or something, or is it always captain goes down withe boat type of flight?
yeah i know mid flight but i watched this crash movie as a kid, i think it was based on true story
they opened the door and before crashing people jumped into corn fields, i think more survived jump than crash landing, if they have chutes they could jump way up, not 30k feet but maybe 3k feet
that movie might be fiction tho, youre the expert, maybe ypull know what flight im talking about
At least those 72 minutes gave them time to spray the runway with foam and someone with initiative thought to turn out the lights 🙄. If any passengers or crew were killed I would not be so brasen.
Nessos007 yeah dude
I bet you can do better than this
Single middle seat? Yes please.
I am alway so happy to see safe landings like this after mechanical failures or other issues. Thank god for great pilots and ground crew.
Now that's a LOT of damage!
To show you the power of Flex Tape, I cut this circuit in half!
@@eliorahg so the stabilizers have completely jammed!
I believe the final investigation report for this particular accident came out just a week or two ago! Such heroic and brave acts by the cockpit crew, and it's wonderful that not a single person received a major injury.
That landing was god damn beautiful, I didn't know that was possible.
Captain Sully and this Captain are the true MVPs.
Incredible landing! That pilot should get free beer for life.
Good job to the team for successfully pulling off this landing.
I Witness this belly landing. Was actually an epic scene
I don't understand how it is that for 72 minutes nobody in the air or on the ground was able to identify a popped breaker. This was an aircraft already in trouble so one would have thought that both LOT and Boeing would have had their best people on hand, who had the necessary expertise to identify and rectify what was, ultimately, a resolvable problem?
Agreed!!! And I don't put this on the pilots at all, I put it on the people they were talking to on the ground. The pilots already had a tremendous workload, I wouldn't expect the captain to leave his seat in an emergency unless directed by the ground crew to do so and check that breaker. And you never know either, that circuit could have been shorted out by the hydraulic fluid leak, thus the breaker popped.
I was thinking the same thing. I am glad they landed safely but damn, check the circuit breaker.
TheRunereaper. Video doesn't say it, but standard procedure is to contact Airline maintenance for troubleshooting. They contact aircraft manufacturer if needed. As these are circuit(s) with two breakers, one is (I'm guessing) for control, the other actuation. Usually the actuation circuit breaker is clearly labeled and in a manuals flow chart. But the control circuit may provide power to multiple things so it might not be as obvious to a poor tech... Someone should have pulled out a wiring diagram!!!! I was an auto tech. I've seen this countless times.
shot forshot
I wonder how visible the tripped breaker is , does it have a warning pilot light indicator that is indeed has tripped? You'd think those things would have very visible warning indicators.
I posted somewhere that those 72 minutes were used to spray the runway with foam and for someone with initiative to turn off the runway lights.😂
Amazing, Nothing but praise and respect for these pilots.. Great Video.
BEAUTIFUL landing! Congratulations to both pilots. I'm sure Sully agreed. It took the same skill, calmness, and abilities as the "Miracle" landing on the Hudson, Sully and his First Officer had, and used... So very well. A lot to be proud of. If they had panicked, or doubted themselves, it could have turned out so differently.
Bravo to everyone involved, courage and skill beyond measure.
Thank you for another great video. So glad that no one was injured! As always,, keep up the good work, X Pilot!!!
Smoothest belly landing I've ever seen....well done!
This looks fantastic. Love your videos!
Engines can be a substitute fot landing gears. Who knew?
Cycling Cycles And a dangerous one.
One use only
Yay! They lived! Woo-hoo!
Great video!
Jerzy flew out of Jersey 😁 What a perfect landing! Well done, Captain!
Great video, very detailed :) 👍
Incredible flying
thank you for the video... to this day im really proud of tadeusz wrona
This was a very nice video of this event. Nice explaination.
Excellent production.
That landing was smoother than most regular landings! Hats off to that pilot!
I salute the pilots!! The difference between an average and an awesome pilot is how much ice is in their veins IMO. That ability to keep calm in an emergency, to multi-task, think on your feet, not panic, knowing your aircraft, that is what makes a great pilot IMO.
damn right he's a hero that was an amazing smooth landing!
Another happy landing!
Whoa! I didn't realize that I was holding my breath on that one! Good job!
My request is next, I've been waiting for so long, I'm happy as hell.
PRIMO VICTORIA!!!!!!!!
If any of you is wondering I was referencing this song ruclips.net/video/NRbDLIXAp4o/видео.html

Sweet landing.
Damn fine landing , one very skilled and cool pilot
This was handled very well. WOW
These videos make me cry.
As the plane landed I kept saying to myself watching it..'Please don't blow up, please don't blow up!' I'm not surprised the pilots received awards and the way the situation was handled by all involved was first class as well. I'm so pleased everyone survived!
Amazing...... Nerves of steel......
amazing story
Finally I can let out all my stress and watch an X pilot video.
Awesome awesome job! Wooow!
Two thumbs up to the pilots for landing that plane safely and to the flight attendants for getting everyone out in 90 seconds!!
I gotta say, I like the happy endings of these videos haha, also great job to the pilots!
Another happy landing.
WOW!!! WHAT A LANDING
Awesome video
Im getting addicted to these videos
Thank you for this. I was on this flight :)
Very good belly landing.
Great video, as always. I would love if you made a video about TAM Flight 3054.
That landing looked smoother than some landings I've been in.
I actually remember hearing that in the news when it occurred.
You remember something from 6 years ago? shit dude
your videos rock
Ok I Can't Wait For Garuda Indonesia Flight 152 Thank You X Pilot.
Nice
I'd like to request Avianca Flight 52.
That was just pro. From the crew to airport management and even the fighter planes chipping in.
Legends
Where did you get the LOT livery ? I can't find it anywhere...
Being called 'The Poznan' it should be OK landing backwards too.
Glad to see everyone got out ok, I bet the runway was in a hell of a state after that landing and out of action for a long time after!
curious: when is it preferable to run out of fuel?
When you have finally troubleshot this missing wing problem.
When the fuel keeps the fire going that is engulfing your plane and your engines are dead already anyway.
I guess to avoid an explosion?
If you are going to ditch the plane, you might not want fuel in the mix...
Taxiing to take off position
In the UK, with those of us who know history, the Polish are known for having great pilots.
Also, "left autopilot" sounds like that proverbial "none pizza with left beef" meme.
4:29 - "Another happy landing." - Obi-Wan Kenobi
Это высший пилотаж.вот это нервы вот это сталь
Hmm, why continue the flight after getting a hyd c failure ? What if another failed, would that be enough to come back ? Taking into account that they were close to the departure airport and not somewhere in the boonies, i would think it better to come back. I'd think those redundant systems exist to allow you to land as fast as possible, rather than test fate, not knowing how a situation may develop further, not knowing what caused it etc.
Great video, here's my request: Spanair JK5022 Madrid Barajas
yeah that wud be nice
You think someone would have checked for that.....great landing non the less
Heroes.
I know this is A LOT but can you do Delta 191, Garuda 421, Garuda 200 and Thai 311
I wonder what flight sim he is using for these videos?
Nice vid! can you do garuda indonesia flight 200?
Why did they turn the runway lights off?
I know the american boeings have a handcrank to lower the landing gear, is that not "standard" in the airbus?
Bad ass.
now THAT is butter
That was an insane landing!!! He could fly that thing in his sleep!!
He made it Look like a penguin was gliding on ice. So impressive
i'm polish and my friend was on the flight
Could somebody explain why they turned out the lights of the runway? In which way did that make the landing safer?
They were turned off in order to prevent any eventual fire in case the fuel would leak... The electrical system could spark the fuel up. Thats why also a foam was layed on the runway surface, many countermeasures were taken in order to prevent fire from spreading
Why are runway lights turned off?
I’m guessing because a crushed light might spark a fuel spill, but that’s a total guess.
Polscy piloci są najlepszy The best
Can you do Speedbird9 pls it is my biggest passion
Love u x pilot, great content :)
pls more flight recordings in this videos
I just realized you didn't do Malaysian Airline flight 17 that was shot down over Ukraine, you should do it
For all pilots out there: Just curious,..with that type of landing , isn't fire due to friction a danger. And if so, would an attempt to turn the plane to grass have any use. Iam not a pilot.
2:24 the landing gear lever is up! You know you can just set it in failures right?
Do. ethopian 961 please Thanks I like your videos
How friction with runway did not burn up the plane?
The runway has been covered with foam, that is how friction did not caused the plane to burn up.
This should be the top question....can't believe no one else asked!!!
@@TheWTZ1983 There was also little to no fuel so that helped mitigate any potential fire upon landing.
PL?
