every Thursday I hop onto my computer as fast as I can after school to watch your channel. You have the most amazing graphic and music. You also do a very good job of explaining why it happened. You are my favorite youtuber and forever will be until I die.
While this was certainly a very heroic piece of flying and Captain Wrona deserved every bit of the praise he duly received, you would think that some manual or engineer somewhere would say, "Check the electric motor's circuit breaker."
This is a MASSIVE failure on the airlines part. How they didnt have an in house engineer or even a mechanic, tell them to check such a simple thing as a circuit breaker while in the air for 72 minutes , is SCARY!!! Lets say I wont be flying ANY Polish airline ANY time soon.
Great video as always but could have separately mentioned that before the landing the fire extinguishing liquid or whatever name it is was spread on the entire runway so as to minimize any possible cause of fire.Another brilliant move by the captain and his crew
Two words: bad ass! After the plane finally stopped I bet the sound of cheering and applause inside the cabin was deafening by the sound of pure jubilation!
I have noticed several video's where CB have popped before. I would think that from now on the crew needs to be asking maintenance about which CB's are used in conjunction with a problem that requires electric power. Before I teach anyone to drive, I go over those things under the hood that makes a vehicle operate properly so when something fails while driving they understand what is going on. If a belt breaks, there will be problems with steering, the engine will begin to overheat, the battery light will come on, etc, etc I wonder how much training or experience pilots have in relating item failures to specific engine problems? The Flight Channel has some of the best videos available!
100% agree. Im astounded and appalled this never happened! They were in a holding pattern for 72 minutes and NO ONE from LOT, neither an engineer nor a mechanic, was asked by the pilots what to do? How is that possible? And if they were asked, which I seriously doubt, NO ONE knew to check the circuit breaker?
Did it end well? When I was a teenager my mother and I flew from Chile to Peru and had to make an emergency landing in Lima because the gears weren't locking. Obviously we survived.
@Eliza Grogan On what planet? Emergencies happen in aviation all the time INCLUDING gear failures. They dont always hit the news. I've had some in my flying career, none have been news worthy.
From Wiki: The preliminary report by the SCAAI found that a hydraulic leak occurred shortly after takeoff, after the landing gear and flaps were retracted. The leak was from a flexible hose in the center hydraulic system, resulting in the loss of all fluid in that system. The drop in pressure was indicated by the EICAS and recorded by the flight data recorder. Later investigation indicated a popped circuit breaker just to the right of the F/O at floor level would have enabled the electric motor for releasing the undercarriage. The breaker was reset after landing and the undercarriage extended normally. From B767 FCOM: Preliminary Preflight Procedure -> Do the remaining actions after a crew change or maintenance actions -> Circuit breakers -> Check From Final report: If the Pre-Flight Check procedure described in "Boeing 767 Operations Manual, Part B, Volume 1, Normal Procedures, page NP.21.1." "(Figure 26) was performed correctly in Newark, that means that during that check C829 circuit breaker was still in ON/closed setting.
What a brilliant Job the Ccrew did, without hydraulic fluid, they were obviously well trained, thinking pilots and deserved every reward they recieved. Another great Video from Flight Channel too,Thank you. Terry Offord
Fully cat Savage i am a real pilot who flys real airplanes I know the procedures for gear failure and dumping fuel, I gartuntee it's alot harder in real life than playing on simulator. When you have to do it in life then tell me how hard it is, the difference between real and a game is in real life you get one chance to do it right and on a simulator you can do it over and over. On some planes you can't dump fuel you go into a holding pattern and burn the fuel off.

Pilot and first officer are true heros ...all passengers live
Finally! After this amazing recreation, we are waiting with bated breath for JAL123 with the actual CVR clips. 😊
Oh yes!! Hopefully that one is done soon!!
To this day, JAL 123 is one the most emotional gut-wrenching flight videos I've ever heard.
I felt like I was literally inside the cockpit.
Although I have seen one recreation, I do believe The Flight Channel will ultimately do the best recreation and interpretation of one of the most harrowing flights ever flown.
@@tarrasage4272 Right on. I couldn't agree more, Tarra. I got super emotionally invested whilst watching the recreation on a different channel years ago; kudos to the flight crew to battle all odds. I cannot even fathom the void that the JAL123 incident has left in the aviation fraternity.
john smith damnnnnnn!!!!!
@john smith Whoa!!!! That's insane, John! :O Reading your comment gave me goosebumps! A new lease of life, eh?
I am amazed by the quality of Flight Channel production. It's attention to detail can't be surpassed. Thank you for your hard work.
I loved this reconstruction. The sound edition was just perfect.
I showed this to my father and all he could say was "WOW". xD
Also I really want to become a pilot when I'm old enough to fly :D
It's a dream of myn
Good luck, and hopefully your dream comes true! :)
@@mazeppa1231 Sorry I'm very late to reply but thank you so much! It gives me a lot of motivation because the amount of knowledge you need to become a pilot is ridiculous. I've had thoughts to not become a pilot sometimes but replies like these really motivate me. Fly on Captain! ♥️
Wow. Just wow.He really is a hero. A lot of experience and a cool head.
The, "Hero" should have checked the circuit breaker. It was the first item in every applicable emergency check list in the six transport airplanes I flew.
TFC you make brilliant videos of simulations showing exactly what all had happened. You provide complete information about everything. Buddy you're amazing. And one of the best parts is that you add a little background sound to make it dramatic. Amazing man!
Best part about this video: All 231 on board survived.
What a nerveracking but fabulous landing by a skilled pilot!! There is so much that could have gone wrong but didn't! Allec, this video was so well done! I thought I'd seen all your videos, but found this one by accident while looking for some to re-watch! So glad I found it!
Yeabut he didn't think to see if the landing gear motor was plugged in
@@tommypetraglia4688 really? He's a pilot not an engineer.
Great work on these videos. It's also always good to hear that everyone survived. My hats off to the crew who landed this plane!
Everybody has a gift, and this pilot wasn't just doing his job, he did what he was born to do! Not just anybody could have landed that plane. I know I couldn't have done it. Find what you're good at and do it. We all need one another.
Jesus he is a hero
His last name means Crow for a good reason
I remember this landing. I live in warsaw and here everyone is so proud of capt. Wrona.
Damned commercials are destroying The Flight Channel, by rudely interrupting at critical moments. I boycott all advertisers who rudely interrupt RUclips videos, destroying their content. This is disgraceful!
There is no ads on mobile. At least i don't and i don't have adblock on phone.
@Susan Ritter
Get something like the extension for Google Chrome called "ad blocker" problem solved.
Fast forward to the end any video and rewatch it without commercials.
No one will forget to check bkr panel boxs ever again I'm sure! Nice job sir.
Idk a thing about planes. One day a video of urs was recommended and now I'm obsessed with it! These graphics are amazing 💯 Keep up the great work 👍
Follow flight channel if u want more like this videos
Salute to the Captain!!!
The Landing without the gear looks majestic
Poland now has their own Sully. Congratulations Captain and crew!!!!!!
The day the captain was born the doctor told his mother: "It's a man"
😂😂😂
Had his mother been Elizabeth Warren she would have said not so fast! We need to decide on some pronouns.
😆😆😆 lmao!!
every Thursday I hop onto my computer as fast as I can after school to watch your channel. You have the most amazing graphic and music. You also do a very good job of explaining why it happened. You are my favorite youtuber and forever will be until I die.
Awwwww
While this was certainly a very heroic piece of flying and Captain Wrona deserved every bit of the praise he duly received, you would think that some manual or engineer somewhere would say, "Check the electric motor's circuit breaker."
I agree! If something electrical goes out in my house, I know to check the circuit breakers. And I'm a little old lady!!
@@dezznutz3743 Polish Airlines belong to the safest in the world!!
@@dezznutz3743 Well there is more to this story ...
BTW LOT is one of the safest airlines to fly :)
@@dezznutz3743 They did tell the first officer to check the breakers, but he missed one.
Heroic doesn't even come close to describing the skill necessary to pull of a landing like this. Another topper presentation TFC
Excellent video! Thank you.
Video well done thank you !
Great video as always but could have separately mentioned that before the landing the fire extinguishing liquid or whatever name it is was spread on the entire runway so as to minimize any possible cause of fire.Another brilliant move by the captain and his crew
That smooth landing 🙏🏻👍🏻. Thank you sir for saving so many lives.
Amazing video!
I'm Polish btw
Two words: bad ass! After the plane finally stopped I bet the sound of cheering and applause inside the cabin was deafening by the sound of pure jubilation!
We are waiting for recreation of crash LO 5055 in Kabacki Forest in Warsaw.
Yes we want it
Wats Dat
@Dominik Falken### in 1987 LOT's il62m crashed near runway taking 183 lives with it. Caused by engine fire.
My father had to do a belly landing in Chile of his private plane
Did it end well? When I was a teenager my mother and I flew from Chile to Peru and had to make an emergency landing in Lima because the gears weren't locking. Obviously we survived.
@Eliza Grogan Oh wow! I don't understand it when people need to make up stories, especially horrible ones!
@Eliza Grogan On what planet? Emergencies happen in aviation all the time INCLUDING gear failures. They dont always hit the news. I've had some in my flying career, none have been news worthy.
@@beccamaycarey6797 Its probably not a lie. They're just trying to be an arse and seem intelligent on the internet by "calling someone out"
SmokingSpitfire nah they’re lying
Mr.Wrona IS INSANE! Landing on the engines & tail without breaking the plane is ultamite god of aviation
From Wiki:
The preliminary report by the SCAAI found that a hydraulic leak occurred shortly after takeoff, after the landing gear and flaps were retracted.
From B767 FCOM:
Preliminary Preflight Procedure -> Do the remaining actions after a crew change or maintenance actions -> Circuit breakers -> Check
From Final report:
If the Pre-Flight Check procedure described in "Boeing 767 Operations Manual,
Part B, Volume 1, Normal Procedures, page NP.21.1." "(Figure 26) was performed correctly in Newark, that means that during that check C829 circuit
breaker was still in ON/closed setting.
Outstanding job by captain and first officer....Unbelievable...what a execution of landing by both pilots..!!🙌😍🤙
thanks so much for turning my suggestion into video :D
What a pilot. saved all those people. BLESS THAT MAN
Thank you! A great story to hear with an amazing happy ending I cant explain all I gotta say This video is awesome
Yeah and I cried 😭
Not all heroes wear capes. They wear wings.
Nice video man!
That's what i call a great landing !
But, if they had thought to reset a circuit breaker, they might have done it with the landing gear extended.
What a brilliant Job the Ccrew did, without hydraulic fluid, they were obviously well trained, thinking pilots and deserved every reward they recieved. Another great Video from Flight Channel too,Thank you. Terry Offord
Other than a simulator, i doubt that its easy to practice a "Gear Up landing"
It would be a rather expensive exercise to practice using actual 767s.
The airline companies have simulators that the pilot's use to practice for emergency situations
Daniel Cartwright It’s harder than it looks you have to dump fuel and circle then land it’s a lot of stress
Daniel Cartwright also I’m concerned that is they dump the fuel over land they might cause fuel to rain down from the sky
That music in the beginning though...gives it that extra suspense and popcorn ready
incredible work by the pilots!
Thats a TRIUMPH!! How can anyone give this a thums down! Fuck that miracle on the Hudson guy! THIS man is a HERO!
Respect to the pilot.
Once again an outstanding video. The Flight Channel is, by far, the very best channel for aviation crashes and incidents. The quality of the image and the music is above average, way above!
I heard that a huge amount of foam was spreaded in the runway to avoid that metal scratches could start a fire..... is that true?
yup
Yes. It's standard operating procedure for any belly-up landings for fire prevention.
