I was discouraged to get one because of the poor autofocus of Panasonic. How does it work for you? I agree it's a good camera, but I couldn't be happier than with my Canon SL2/200D.
@@MatiasBaldanza the autofocus with native lenses is alright. I'd use it all the time with my kit lens when I was out and about or at events. Against Canon dual AF autofocus, it's a weak point sure, but nowadays I use mine with a Viltrox EF-M2 speedbooster and sigma 18-35 lens and the quality is amazing and autofocus still works, but the speedbooster doesn't let continuous AF in video mode work, which is fine for me because for what I shoot, manual focus is best. Panasonic has definitely improved their autofocus in the newer Lumix G series entrants tho that's for sure.
@@CoalitionGaming Thank you for the info. I was quite eager to get the G7, but ultimately I chose Canon, because it would make for a simpler vlogging setup and continuous AF would make that easier for me.
This is my exact camera, lens, mic setup; different light, fluid head and ND filter, very similar though... Works great, using the roxant pro, kinda wish I went the glide cam route... great video and video set up.
I've bought 2 G7's. One for myself and one for my dad who's just recently got into sport photography. It was my first ever camera and taught me so much about how to use a camera. I've moved on into the higher ranks with the sony fs cameras now but god damn, the G7 was an amazing camera to use. And while I don't have it anymore, my dad is still learning how to properly use his and he often calls me up telling me about a cool feature about the camera he didn't know of before (most recently the unlimited 4k recording hack haha). My sister's just started to get into photography and a little video now too so it looks like I'll be buying another one for her haha but she's a canon lover (spoiled by mum's 5D) so the SL2 is looking pretty good. I would highly recommend the G7 to anyone who wants a small and reliable camera to get them off the ground. Though nothing will ever get anyone off the ground as well as balloons tied to the chimney of a house...
My first ever camera of myself is also a G7!! Best camera ever for it's price! The footage it produced is really nice and crisp in 4k. Never regret buying it. Btw, how did you do the hack for unlimited recording?

Thanks, Potato Jet! I've been looking for a solid entry-level camera, and this camera will definitely go onto my short-list of cameras to investigate deeper. Wow! Amazing. Feels good to see big guys try and feel like a cheapo amateur again lol. I would love the 24mm, the SL2 or even the gimbal. Big love from Belgium, good luck everyone!
You really should have gone with a Panasonic G7 setup; at $500 for a body with a sharp 14-42mm stabilized kit lens it's a much better value, plus the Panasonic 25mm and 45-150mm lenses are stabilized and super good. Panasonic picture profiles have the ability to basically disable the noise reduction which retails a lot more fine detail. That Yongnuo 50mm is an 85mm equivalent on that Canon body which provides a telephoto-sized field of view, so you have to get far away from the subject to shoot anything more than a close-up. (I have the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II and self-shooting with it wide open can be rather frustrating.) The 24mm pancake lens was a great choice though; I have it and it's amazing, but the auto-focus on it sucks. Of course, auto-focus in general sucks unless you have a real camcorder or fairly expensive equipment. The Magnus tripods are great; I have a VT-350 and it extends 7 feet in the air, easily getting over the heads of audiences (a major problem when shooting events.) By the way, feel free to make me the winner of the Canon setup from the video. I love my MFT but don't think for a second that I won't use that Canon like there's no tomorrow.

*_Can you do a video on how to finesse a skit/film with a Canon T3i?_* Like ze settings you should use How to use said lenses What affordable filters work best? *_I dunno would help alot and just another idea :3_*
Those k&f concept ND filters are super underrated. I bought a $135 ND filter from simmod and the K&F held up almost as good (I say almost because I didn't test the amount of detail they let in) but it doesn't shift color from what I could tell, sharpness was equal, and I don't really get any IR pollution with it somehow even though it lets in IR light from my remote. The tiffen is terrible with IR, but again most cameras have built in IR cuts on the sensor anyways. Idk but I'm going to test the k&f a lot more. I think everyone just thinks that it's super cheap so therefore it must be terrible but it holds up pretty well from what I can see.
I definitely recommend anyone buying Canon gear, to go to the online store for refurbished gear. Great prices with a 1 year warranty. Incredible deals on the holidays.
RowlWool got my 80D refurbished with a kit lens from the canon website with the warranty for $800. I checked the shutter count and only had 198. It was a steal

Can you do a similar video but on a 4k set up $3000 or under, I am trying to get a decent 4k setup for the film group I am in "rouge worxs" but having problems deciding. I kinda like the Blackmagic but we currently use a cannon. PS i like the handheld light and will be getting one or two of those.
Been a Blackmagic guy for years now. Just got the Blackmagic Pocket 4K. Your decision should be based on your workflow. If you want smaller, easier to use files and easy battery options then go for GH5s or ARiii, etc. But if you want something that will give you the best RAW image possible and you can work around battery, storage and stabilization hurdles then You cannot beat the Pocket 4K.
I've been looking at your videos lately and honestly have to say this particular one has me wanting to try my hand at trying to get back into video production. I bought a T5i a few years ago and never actually used it the way I wanted to probably because I was a little intimated but now I think I'm going to give it another try with these exact lenses... Thanks 👍
I think a good camera is going to be the hardest thing at that budget. You can get into a Lumix G7 at $300 used. But it's probably not coming with any glass. Looks like a Refurb Canon Rebel T6 could be an option at $350, which comes with a decent kit lens. Sticking to lower quality accessories, I'm sure you could make it work.
Youst think of the endless possibletys with that setup. My current camera is my mum's point and shoot. If you wath my latest video. The only thing I can control on the camera is ISO and zoom. I do not film homeless dogs or cats but I'm a teenager ho saved the last year to afford a 200 usd drone.

hey do you think you could send me that SL2?
Hey ,I see u have a lot of DSLRs in your videos 😕
@@titanxintros1809 I only have a very old 5D2
@@RageStudios well , I don't even have a DSLR , good luck bro
@@titanxintros1809 you clearly deserve it more than me, hope you get it!
@@RageStudios no bro , you deserve a chance too 😊
Can't believe I won... Thanks so much man. Great content
Lol, this is by FAR the best video you ever made. I actually enjoyed the ad plug. That's skill.
*_Can you do a video on how to finesse a skit/film with a Canon T3i?_*
Like ze settings you should use
How to use said lenses
What affordable filters work best?
*_I dunno would help alot and just another idea :3_*
look up simon cade. he has a lot of quality stuff and he does the majority of it on a t3i
TylerCampbell2 oh I already follow him lol
Nice video Potato Jet!!
One question please: any suggestions for a “RUclips” equipment for IPhone X, thanks bro!
Davor Michovich get a moment lens and a lightning mic
i love the SL2 but please tell me where to get those dog hoodies??????
I got an sl2 for only 4 hundred bucks on the Canon website
@@fishguise6818 Yeah it's a crazy deal, I believe I saw an SL2 with a kit lens $20 cheaper than the sl2 body.
Rather have that sl2 than that red
hey man.. I've been thinking about getting into cameras and cinematic stuff. if I ever wanted to film myself for musical purposes. thanks for this video. it should help me narrow down what to buy. not sure if you already announced the winner but I wish I one this
Wow man you truly put your heart and soul into your videos.
The Sl2 is my favorite DSLR
Hey >;-)
You should be a prof at a film school. You give great talks. I have learned a lot from you over the last 2 hours. So much great advice. Thank you for posting. I'm a dog walker/future film maker. See you on the big screen >;-)
Ray B use sony a6500
Used Sony a7iii plus used 24-105
Sony a6500 with sigma prime lenses
Been a Blackmagic guy for years now. Just got the Blackmagic Pocket 4K. Your decision should be based on your workflow. If you want smaller, easier to use files and easy battery options then go for GH5s or ARiii, etc. But if you want something that will give you the best RAW image possible and you can work around battery, storage and stabilization hurdles then You cannot beat the Pocket 4K.
Can’t believe how good all your videos are 😂😂 your personality is the best
GREEN SCREEN!!! Also, that giveaway though ;) GL Everyone
I've been using the Nikon D5100 for almost 2 years. I think i need to upgrade my gear.😭😭 Hope im lucky enough to win that gear!😇😂
dude this was a real pick me up because i was overwhelmed by all the gear and how expensive it is
I've been looking at your videos lately and honestly have to say this particular one has me wanting to try my hand at trying to get back into video production. I bought a T5i a few years ago and never actually used it the way I wanted to probably because I was a little intimated but now I think I'm going to give it another try with these exact lenses... Thanks 👍
Can you do this but with the m50
So....now that it's 2019 and good cameras are getting reasonable can you get something cinematic with half this budget?
Excellent video!! Thanks for the tips and recommendations.
Best regards from Costa Rica
“Fields with rivers, Fields with cHiKin, fields with BeHby!”
Unpaid intern looks like Hodor.
Does the setup include a free Max/henchman?
i hope so. i need someone to pick up poop with their hands. it would just make my day if he came to give a big hug right after lol
Been watching your video a lot during quarantine......and now I’m going to start making content!!
WAIT was that 60fps in 720p???
It might be but 1080p @60fps is available on the 200D/SL 2
You think that’s special?
No, he probably thought it looked too good to be
lol
@Honoka Anne buy SL2😂😂
You´re the Bruce Lee of cameras!
Omg just got the camera for Christmas
The dogs kept multiplying!!! Also, great video. I'm in a phase where I'm really understanding the value of quality vs. quantity and you gave a good example of that. I'm just a mere fetus in the camera world right now so it's valuable to find informational vids like this! Thanks!
Whatever the hell I want. But I can never take you serious talking about budget with that Red behind you.
I need the camera settings for the SL2
Please do a series of video about making a film step by step with canon 200 d please
Last scene on orange background looks crisp and it is not the camera. Your hands make magic !
15:53 you predicted the Pandemic😱
I want to win because I don’t have ANY camera and REALLY want to start shooting video/photos and I BEEN watching your videos!
OMG i was watching your videos when you uploaded
