I love your thirst for knowledge and your wiliness to share it. You are blessed with high energy and a great deal of enthusiasm. You make your "work" a joyful experience. You are blessed.
💡I love how clearly, simply, and practically you explain these things. I’ve got a client project coming up this weekend, and I’ll experience the with a few of these techniques!
hey, that's actually what i use. 2 desk lamps with G&E 5000k led bulbs and some toilet paper draped in front of the lamp fixture to make a very crude "soft box" haha.
this is litterly this tutorial. just to the same thing with your desktop lamp and use a "floppy" lol. If you can not affort that either, use paper as a reflector. Maybe you could even use baking paper to soften your desktop light? Now I'm just thinking out loud haha but you get the point tho it's actually possible
@@Promiscubus I took clamp on work light fixtures and put LED bulbs in them and wrapped white plastic bags around them then clamp them on microphone stands.
Dude, that was so informative! I'm a lighting expert in CG and I learned a lot from these real life practical examples. Kudos! Your channel is leveling UP! 😎🤘
Man these videos with professionals you've been making recently (this and the microphone one with the audio engineer) are crazy helpful for an indie filmmaker. Thank you.
Bro! Thank you so much for your hard work!! Your dialogue in the videos are like social network or the steve job movie were is engaging from start to finish!! Thanks for your dedication its really amazing!!
okay okay okay... im convinced... after spending two days researching for my new youtube channel you´ve been the most entertaining/helpful.. I´ll subscribe.
When the ARRI skypanel S60-C came out a few years ago, our production was the first to rent it out. We were working on a car commercial and we were filming the final “hero shot”. The skypanel dropped, it broke, it was bad. I’m glad I was a just an AC on that shoot 😂
...Mr. Jet, may I call you Potato? That was actually a great intro to lighting. THINKING about light and LOOKING is the first step to being a pro. Even when you’ve got your equipment your main tool is still your mind. Thanks.
Another great modifier I love using is a china ball. Works great for a direct to camera shot, interview where you want to light 2 people with 1 light, and especially group shots where the talent is sitting in a circle. Think coffee shop conversation or poker game on a card table. I loved that idea of using the sun as the rim light with a bounce to fill the subjects face, that's one I've never done before but plan on using in the future, super smart!
Can't wait for that M50 vs EOS R video. Both of those cameras look great. I want an M50. I think it'd work very well for me when I do wedding videos, and my RUclips videos. I'm actually working on rearranging some stuff in my house to have a dedicated set. And I'll be spending more time on my videos, as I want to make them look as professional as possible. So this lighting video was very useful! Thanks, PotatoJet! :)
PJ, I think this is the next great up and coming video gear vlog! Excellent work, super engaging, and useful content. I'm getting a lot of great info too! Keep going! Please about sliders vs. gimbals vs. any other camera movement platform!
Such amazing concepts to lighting... I finally understand who a gaffer is on set. Im definitely going to practice lighting techniques... once I get lights...
Right, you’ve convinced me I need an aperture 120d... just wish I had a bit more space to play with. Your lighting is always so on point, hope I manage to get there with my channel one day but every video is learning curve. Thanks for your content I love watching you have a blast making epic videos. Keep it up!
