Reminds me of something Alfred Hitchcock said (Today I Learnedᵀᴹ): something to the effect of "if you were to shut the sound off in a movie, the audience should still be able to know exactly what's going on".
@@ScooterBond1970 There was a brief time in my life when I was watching a bit of anime that was in Japanese without subtitles. And while I couldn't understand the language at all, I still had a general idea of what was going on, and was able to enjoy it well enough despite having no idea what was actually being said.
@@gurvmlkthat's a little different, anime is more complicated to watch without understanding the dialogue singe they're actually speaking, (at the same time, yes, japanese is a very expressive language and shows more emotions than english through their speech), because it's more like a real show but animated. Simple stories like wall e are easy to understand without dialogue.
But yea that's interesting you did that, atleast you didn't choose to watch the horrid dubs lol
@@アキコ2003 Well to be fair, it was part of a series I was familiar with, so I knew the characters and setting. I just didn't know the specifics of the actual plots that I was seeing, because they were episodes beyond what had yet been localized at the time. But I remember having at least a somewhat general idea of what was going on based on what knowledge I did have. Granted I'm pretty sure a lot of those assumptions were wrong or off, but it was good enough for me at the time.
"I don't want to survive! I want to live!" is such a hard line 😢
We saw this at the theater when my youngest daughter Ava was about 2. She thought Wall-E was saying HER name. She would get very excited and say, "Mommy, wah-wee says me!"
I know I'm biased, but it was about the cutest thing ever! 😊
Love it. When monsters inc was newish, my daughter looked just like Boo.

I've seen other channel note that Mr. Gabriel's song triggers the music claims on YT, so there might be a reason.
The first time I watched it I loved the epilogue so much. I was hoping for a sequel showing all the rebuilding.
Wall-E changed every robot and human he came in direct contact with, from EVE to the Captain to the couple to MO to the misfit robots. They all changed for the better because of how good a being Wall-E was.
WALL-E is a masterpiece! The way the animators convey so much emotion with no dialogue is genius.
Don't be sorry about not knowing movies. It's a big part of what makes your reactions so fun to watch :D

Lol I don't get why you're apologizing for spending your time reading rather than watching movies! In fact, you could lean into it and discuss books you've read that relate to the movies. I'm sure those of us who need to spend more time reading would get a lot out of it.

- Many argue that both WALL-E and The Dark Knight not being nominated for Best Picture caused the Academy to change its procedures; the following year, it moved to ten nominees for Best Picture, instead of five as had been the standard from 1944-2008.
- Peter Gabriel and Thomas Newman did win Grammy Awards.
- Originally, Andrew Stanton thought about using 1930s swing music to contrast with the opening shots of Earth, but decided against it because he didn't want people to think he was copying another animated film, 2003's The Triplets of Belleville.
-Andrew Stanton joked with Sigourney Weaver, "You realize you get to be 'Mother' now?," in reference to the computer "Mother" on the spaceship Nostromo in Alien.

You might also want to check out Short Circut (1985) for another heartwarming robot themed comedy. There's also a sequel, Short Circut 2 (1988), that's not quite as good but still watchable. Wall-E's design was almost certainly inspired by the robot in those films, particularly his eyes and tank treads.

17:16 i hope you watch more pixar movies! that number A113 appears in (i believe) every single Pixar film. its a nod to a classroom number in CalArts where most of the founding members (and many current members) of Pixar studied animation.
In my opinion, THE best 3D animated movie.
The song Wall-E keeps watching is a scene from Hello, Dolly - It Only Takes a Moment. Just the idea of an ecology movie mixed with a Broadway musical mixed with a story about robots falling in love mixed with superior animation just blew me away the first time I saw it!
The best Pixar movie by far. A masterclass in "Show, don't tell." Perfect movie.

Wall-E originally was purely Pixar. It only became "Disney" when that company bought out Pixar.

The big Wall-E's are named Wall-S. Waste Allocation Load Lifter Space-class. While Wall-E is, of course, Earth-class.
Axiom-class. They’re WALL-A’s.
What’s insane is that since the axiom is camping out by the horse head nebula, which is 1,500 light years away from earth, and Wall-E is over 700 years old at that point, AND the fact that the rocket traveled at sunlight speeds the whole way, it’s possible that wall-e is INCREDIBLY old by the time he got to the axiom. Of course, on the ship by then they believed it had only been 700 years… and we do see the axiom is able to travel at light speed, Hense why when we return to earth, the roach is there. Even so… when you factor in the insane amount of time it takes to get anywhere in space, it really puts it into perspective of how long Wall-E was stuck out there in space…
What’s also sad, is that according to the official wall-e comics, wall-e had to watch all his brothers work themselves to death one by one until he was the only one left, AND he was forced to cannibalize his many brothers remains for parts to keep himself going… as its shown in the film.
Oh, and one more fun fact. Wall-E made all those towers because originally, there were a bunch of incinerators that would consume the towers. However again in the comics, it’s shown that over time all the incinerators ran out of fuel. You can actually see what those incinerators look like at 3:53.

If Wall-E had died this movie would have won the Oscar. No one would have gone so SEE it, but it would have won the Oscar.
When this came out, all I heard about it in the zeitgeist was the strong environmentalism message in it. Nothing about the story, and I never saw any trailers. I finally got to it years later, and was blown away at how entertaining is was, despite a good chunk having no dialogue! Hell... maybe even MORE so because of that!

If my mom ever saw this movie, she'd demand a decontamination robot to follow me around.
I do hope we can advance our technology enough to have space cruises. And, yet still be fit enough for adventures.
Wall-E, Eva, and the little cockroach (I am not surprised at its survival) are just adorable.
I love MO and BURN-E (the little welder robot on the spaceship). I also love that Wall-E can't say EVE so calls her Eve-ah. (They totally left it Eve on the captions which irked me no end!)...
I loved when Wall-E touched his dirty foot to Mo's face - and Mo screamed!

You really should do more *Pixar* movies (this may technically be a *Disney* movie because they acquired *Pixar* two years before *Wall-E* came out, but in my mind, this is a *Pixar* movie).
Maybe you could do a poll or something on your Patreon to select your next *Pixar* movie to watch.
I would suggest: *Toy Story* (where it all began), *Up,* *Coco*
If you want more in your poll: *Monsters, Inc.,* *Finding Nemo,* *The Incredibles*
*Cars* is another option (most don't seem to like it as much as I do, but one of my favorites), and many others as well.
Wall-e is the most artistically pleasing one.
Turning Red is my favorite one.

It's a huge criticism on rampant capitalism. And humanities over alliance and obsession with technology. If not done right we could end up like the people on the axiom.
If done correctly, however, I'd say it would end up more like Star Trek the next generation or something.

Escape from LA is a less comedic version of that genre. This movie is great
Another couple of good pos-apocalyptic dystopia movies that you might enjoy is called the Book of Eli starring Denzel Washington, Mila Kunis, and Gary Oldman and Oblivion starring Tom Cruise and Olga Kurylenko.
17:17 I believe Room A-113 was the college classroom where a lot of the Pixar animators learned their craft. I believe most Pixar movies have at least one appearance of the number A-113 as a tribute.

Love this movie, it deserves all the good things! Sure it’s a little “hit you over the head” with capitalism and environmental message, but like the humans in the hover chairs, sometimes you need to be knocked out of your daze to get you moving!!
Also love that you actually watched the credits, as the shoe payoff so many reviewers miss!! The credits themselves are awesome for taking the viewer through art history as the humans rediscovered how to build civilization. I like to think like the Titan in “Titan AE” the big ship had some sort of genetic storage for different species, so as civilization advanced, animals could return as well, otherwise how are there still fish??

what is your total read book list?
Well let me think. Say on average one book per week. So we'll say 50 books a year over 30ish years. Somewhere around 1,500 books. However if I really get into a series I can do 2 or 3 a week. I have my ups and downs but that sounds about right.
@@AwesomeUSMovies What kind? I used to read everything I could once i learned how but but it became more research based. Watch the show frasier from the 90s, its fully of literary references that i was always tracking down.

I'm in my 60s and I think this is the best movie ever done by Pixar or Disney. 🧓🎭📽️💋
