Today, I'm visiting the Château de Vaux-Le-Vicomte, a magnificent French castle that inspired Versailles !
I was invited by the Chateau for a paid collaboration on Instagram and I decided to make this extra video for RUclips because it was the occasion to show a castle that I've visited often when I was younger !

The ceiling with the projected artwork was the most enchanting thing I have ever seen. The chateau appears to have a life all it's own. I bet those walls DO talk!

The architecture is breathtaking! To see all the beams inside the dome and how complex it was to build is astonishing! I wish I could go back in time and watch their craftsmanship. These gardens look familiar, so I am sure I've seen them in a movie. How fun to grow up near this place. I loved going to The Huntington as a child but it's nothing compared to this! Tellement de beaux châteaux en France...grâce à mes parents, j'ai visité les châteaux de la Loire sans réaliser vraiment à l'époque que ce sont de véritables joyaux du patrimoine car j'étais très jeune. J'aimerais y retourner.

Thanks for bringing us with you, Théo. I think I will have to visit this chateau on my next visit. I visited Versailles and thoroughly enjoyed it, despite the crazy number of people. It would a nice change to visit a chateau like this without the crowds! A picnic in the garden sounds like a wonderful way to end the visit.

TRIED to visit in March but it was closed for something like Renovations!
Oh that's why the outside was so clean and the gold statues were so shiny ! Everything is renovated now !

That is a sad story. It's astonishing how ridiculously fragile egos were (and still are) among those with power. Also how cruel rulers were. They have taken amazing care of this castle. I wonder if they heat it during the winter? I would think that is very expensive.🙂
