Very good but as part of the next generation of Kenpo practitioners I spend time altering updating and modernizing. When Bruce was on Hong Kong TV to promote The Way of The Dragon, Bruce was asked what he thought of traditional King Fu styles. Bruce’s reply was “If a martial artist wants to seek the truth in combat, the dead traditional form cannot confine him” We must always mark towards modernizing. FGM Parker on multiple occasions in various writings expressed his concern that once he was gone that people would try and traditionalize the system. You look great when you’re doing it. Great job! Mine looks different now because I’m trying to constantly modernize and grow with it.
Thank you for your comment. I actually don't have a problem with tailoring the techniques to fit us or the situation at hand. Kenpo is designed to be "adjustable". So I agree. And I'll keep an eye out for your version. I merely suggest that before we make changes, we should know the original, so we don't overlook anything, that's all. My main effort goes into helping students understand what the ideal technique already contains. It's hard, if not impossible, to tailor a technique if I didn't know it completely. Kenpo Salute my friend.
