- Camino de Santiago - The Way of St James - via Podiensis
This is my story about "My Way" to Santiago de Compostela and The End of The World.
An over 1600 km long journey.
I walked the Way of St James ( via Podiensis, Chemin de Compostelle) and started
in Le Puy-en-Velay, France , Easter 2017.
After I had walked to Saint Jean Pied de Port, I continued over the Pyrenees and along Camino Frances to Santiago de Compostela (Galicia Spain) and ended my hike at Cabo de Finisterre. (Fisterra in Galician)
Before I started my hike, I was looking for information about how it might be to make a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. And I discovered that video clips that I found on RUclips were inspiring and helpful. So I want to do similar to others that are planing to walk a Camino.
That's why I share my hike so that you who need information or inspiration can get it through my film.
This video is 3 hour long and I have mixed photos and video clips. It's not focused on tourism, it's more a film about life on the road. I also tells short stories from thing that happen to me during my Camino.
I learned a lot about myself and others and about life itself during my Camino.
And you can see in the video how I was changed in body and mindset.
I hope you will enjoy watching.
If you don't have the opportunity to watch the entire video from beginning to end at once,
I will below give you some notes on times where different steps can be found.

I saw now this video a second & third time and in my opinion it is one of best videos about the camino. It shows the nice sides and the not so nice sides of the camino. It tells also something about the insights, experiences and emotions one has when walking such a distance. I recommend it to everyone who wants to know something about the camino.
Last month (October 2022) I walked the Camino Frances from Villavante to Santiago de Compostela. From this video I remembered that it was important for you that at Cruz de Ferro a Spanish family offered you a hug even though you did not ask for it. When I arrived at Cruz de Ferro I put my backpack against the fence. A woman next to me was struggling with her emotions so I asked her : "Do you want a hug?". She did and she cried her heart out. She thanked me for the hug and I wished her all the best for the remainder of her Camino. I have not seen her again.
3 hours of warming up i would say 😅 Well it suits your nick .. Just messing, im jealous. Hilsen fra Norge
I watched all of it and will watch again. I m already training for 2022. I m 59, my sister is 66 and we 'll be there , the same route next year. Keep inspiring.
One of the best camino pilgrimage videos
I know this comment is several years after your walk, but I just watched the 3 hours and enjoyed every bit of it. You made me feel like I was there. I did a lot of long distance walking but nothing like this. Thank you, Jane, Philadelphia

Wow! Great video, I’m inspired
Jag är helt överväldigad av denna vandring. Tror inte jag skulle velat sätta mig på bussen hem utan börjat vandra tillbaka ... Tack igen för att jag fick följa med och se allt det vackra.
What a journey man, what a journey!!!!
Hugs from Australia- thankyou for sharing your amazing epic journey- God willing I will make this walk next year.
brilliant video, struggling to hit pause (to continue tomorrow) when I really should be in bed. My brother has done the same route (and met his wife-to-be along the way!). I can't wait to do it myself and watching this has only made it worse.. !
wonderfull, tak
Fully agree with you mate, the Meseta is a highlight for those pilgrims who walk it. Looking forward to doing it again one day. Thank you for sharing with us.
I have been at El Camino several times, can't wait to go back, thx for sharing.
I finished watching your walk from Le Puy to Santiago a couple of days ago. Your story and filming are superb.
The Fast Hiker, sin duda el Camino más hermoso es el que dicurre por Galicia.
Thanks for this amazing video and all the work that went into it!
