Old comment I realise but this is a proper good point. They were already running on fumes at the end of the xfm run, rehashing old gags and anecdotes, not to mention Steve constantly testing the water on his naff stand up bits. The podcasts really lack an organic feel.
That final insult at 9:18 is just so cruel and you can tell it really hurt Steve's feelings. I don't even find that moment funny, it's just painful. Steve is definitely not the nicest guy, especially to Karl, but god damn did Karl go nuclear on him with that insult.

He's already told Rick you see, and probably just mentioned it in passing that they were having a conversation about recognising who was on the poster. But when he tells Steve the same story he adds all this mayo to the story to make it sound like the woman were shocked when they saw Steve's picture.

I was about 7 and they were playing it on adult swim, I saw the part where Ricky was doing the dance bit and I watched it for a few seconds and thought it was the stupidest thing I'd ever seen. Now I quite like the office, and it's probably one of my favorite shows. Weird how things change.
I had a similar experience, I saw it at a young age and hated it for years since then. Eventually I came across it on Netflix, watched it and loved it. I even watched all of the US version, times do change !!
There have been people who have coped with depression with the old Xfm shows, I even remember the late RandyAnders (R.I.P) signing off his channel and saying that the editing and production of these videos got him through his insomnia for years. So thanks for uploading these you never know the difference they make, as well as the therapeutic influence of the bald Manc twat!

I like Carl but this guy is a whiner for sure. He is so lucky that Ricky and Steve see potential in him otherwise he'd still be doing tiles full time instead of a radio show and all the other shows he is a part of. So he is a very rich man thanks to them.
