    I cannot believe how over the top their reaction was. The WNBA is a complete disaster. Unprofessional, amateurish, elitist, entitled, angry and cliquish. Like many, I came to the W to watch Caitlin Clark. What I've seen is horrendous officiating and a street-ball mentality with hostile targeting of Caitlin Clark. The W props up players who throw the ball at an opposing player in the Olympics, players who have smacked CC22 in the face numerous times, and officials who ignore obvious infractions against CC22. I've been a die-hard fan of the Fever up until the last few games of the season. I just couldn't watch the horrible officiating and coaching, or lack there of, from Christie Sides. Finally, the lack of leadership from the commissioner to address issues that presented themselves throughout the season tells me nothing will be done-the sistas are in charge.

    The reporter didn't ask the right follow up question. I think a better follow up would have been, "People are curious to know why right after the incident Mabrey was pointing to her eye and you were playfully poking her on the side of her head, can you explain what you girls were doing" Also, I'm not a reporter; but at this rate, maybe I should be.

    • @MegaDespicableMe
      @MegaDespicableMe Месяц назад

      The framing of the questions was accusatory (though not hostile), which I have observed is common among mainstream US journalists. In the Philippines, from where I am, journalists use terms like “allegedly”to report rather than make the allegations themselves. Nonetheless, I find the WNBA statement overdramatic or exaggerated. I don’t get why racism and homophobia were imputed when the problem, I believe, was the manner of questioning, not the nature of the question.

    She flat out LIED! The laughing was confirmed by a commentor's deaf lip reading family member. Mabrey CLEARLY said AND repeated 3 times....."poke me in my eye"! Said it directly to Carrington on the sideline.
    STOP it Carrington AND Mabrey! You're caught red handed by a lip reader! I caught it myself and I'm not even a lip reader, but even I could clearly read her lips.
    There's NO doubt this was intentional. Nobody attempts to block a pass with closed fingers and then QUICKLY pulls those fingers away as if touching a hot stove! Stop it! That's not a "follow thru" motion. That's an intent to injure and probably rehearsed.

      I hope a USA Today columnist exposed this entire lie in a front-page column. The WNBA is really tanking itself. Someday soon the novelty of Caitlyn Clark will settle down, and seats won’t be filled like they are now. But I’m sure any cut in pay will trigger an automatic strike by the players. And they’ll have completely sabotaged what was possibly their best chance at a great paycheck.

Caitlin will answer a question that is asked without any attitude in response because the world just wants to know what is happening. What do mobsters say when they are trying to hide their criminal activity? What do drug dealers say when they are hiding their drug sales? They try to deflect the attention onto something besides themselves. Someone needs to investigate the WNBA League Office and follow the money.

At least this is what they would have us all believe. Clark isn't intentionally being targeted by these hulking behemoths on the court, they're just running over her by accident and then standing over her gloating because it's part of the game. Dijonai Carrington should not be allowed to have long fingernails because .....OMG, does even need to be explained? THEY'RE WEAPONS! Also, if the officials tolerate that kind of behavior between players, those officials should be FIRED!

It’s damn near WWE heel script writing and to be honest is making it soooo much more entertaining just dealing with the off the court soap opera level shenanigans and open racism while simultaneously projecting and accusing the victim of the crime they themselves are committing 😂 like a sociopathic toddler getting caught with it’s hand in the cookie jar and blaming the dog.

    No professionalism only nit picking. Train more, miss less layups and shots.

    They fear to lose their comfortable environment. A little bit of sport in the morning and good money for fashion disasters and fake finger nails, hair and eyelashes etc.
