@@thomaspownall2989 Up in Tillamook state forest there is a spot that you can find them as well. It was before my youtube days but we had some good finds up there.
I had a roadside geology book for Idaho years ago (30+) but never put it to use. It would probably be outdated now, but I wonder if I might have become a rockhound way back then! You never know. I've traveled 95 many times and marveled at the rocks. I'm glad you and Sara stopped to check them out. Thanks for showing us what you found.
Some of the stuff in the book (which came out in 1989) is a bit dated and style in which it is written can be a little hard to follow at times vs the more modern ones but it's still really good. I saw that they just remade the Montana one which I still need to get. US95 along the river sure is pretty, next time you're driving it, stop and check some of the features out.
I enjoyed the road cuts! Lol wish you liked them more! The colors of the serpentine at the first stop were really interesting! Thanks for taking us along!
Roadcuts seem to always have some interesting minerals, sediments, ash, vugs, seams, crystals hidden away in the exposed crevices of the cut. Even find some unexpected specimens. Can you show the book again? Thank you for sharing!
Yeah its Roadside Geology of Idaho, also Washington has a roadside geology book. Both are on my amazon store which there is a link in the description of this video or just go give it a search.
Please if you know some places for rocks in Missouri, tell me I’m from PR but I will go in some time in future to visit a friend there and we are hoping for rock hounding ! Thanks!! Love the road cuts!!

My highway! I'm so going! I love whitebird, riggens...some dang good fishing too.
You should check the website out as well!
That’s a terrific book as are the others about Oregon, Washington and others. Thanks for the brief explanation of how the rock was formed.
Road cuts scare me, I love traveling to the northwest US with you.
I have a really good article on the website about roadcuts if you're interested.
I would love to read more about roadcuts!
Rocks, Rock, Rock on Brother. Here to support you. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Years ago, up the north fork Trask river, I found some augite crystals in the river. Lots of them. (Oregon)
Thanks for watching!

Oh I like them! I just don't carry for the traffic mostly. Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed the road trip for the road cuts. Especially since I have never been to Idaho or seen that area. It was beautiful.
Idaho is a gorgeous place.
I think the road cuts are cool! I liked the serpentine best.
The color on this serpentine is really nice.

It was an interesting vid. Saw some stuff I have not seen and I learned something too. Havagudun Bud.
As always thanks for stopping by and watching. I hope you have a good night.
The slate was probably first, then that gap formed and the other minerals were deposited over time.
