- This was a really amazing location to visit and we walked away with some good specimens.
I really think this location needs to be visited more than once to really grasp it and I'm sure we will return in the future.

Good selective finds. a great overview of the mine area itself. Huge crystals! I've never seen anything like it before. I lived in Washington until just a few years ago. 63 years there. In NM now. Love it here! It Rocks! 🤣
You did a fantastic job filming at this locality. 👏 The crystal support beams (18:24) were something to see for sure, incredible. I had to pause and rewind- truly human sized crystals, wow- just thinking about the formation. Great message you are sending, do you need an agate volcano in your yard? Don't take more than you need. Beer and sleep 🍻🥱- then cleaned up your finds- A+ earned. What an excellent trip and video production.

I always collect extra, and give those away to friends, my niece, and various grammar schools (they LOVE getting stuff like that)!

That one is indeed worth getting excited about. I imagine the remoteness has saved that place. It's nice to see a true walk in/out location now and again.
It's out there for sure and it does mean that much of what is there now will still be there for many years to come.

Happy Birthday Sarah!!! My that area is pretty. Most of montana is pretty. And one of the most mineral rich states in this country! Holy cow! Those were giant crystals! And that whole cave of fluorite, and crystal clear pieces of calcite, and clear quartz points! Wow! That beautiful purple fluorite is just nuts! Its beautiful! The fluorite in all its colors is my favorite. The literal mountain of quartz is wild! That parasite, which ive never even heard of or seen is beautiful. Thanks for the insight and the mine tour? Trip! It was really interesting!

Quick story. My grandparents had a large ranch near Westcliffe Colorado and when my sister and I were small children we helped them build a large fireplace in the house. BIG with double brass doors on two sides. We used mortar and some huge smoky quartz crystals. The whole fireplace on three sides floor to ceiling with smoky quartz all found in a hillside near the ranch house. We never thought much about it other than it was beautiful until... my dads geology friend came over for a visit and he went bonkers.
Very excited for some future uploads where you guys went here, the amount of crystals is just shocking.
Now that is something I would love to see a photo of! It sounds awesome!

It's incredible that you have all this geologic diversity located in one place. Here in the OK Panhandle, we really don't have jack in the way of proper rockhounding. 3 hours east we do have the Salt Flats, but nothing of this magnitude. Thanks for all the cool videos!

Really beautiful area don't get to see pristine untouched locations like that too often.

What a freaking cool spot!!! My family would have to drag me away if I was there lol! I think you got some really nice fluorite and quartz. Seeing those giant crystals was really cool, and the views and wildflowers were just amazing!

Giday Jared, ( not Theo),😬that was a great looking location, some wonderful views and some great fossicking. Looks like you had a good day with some nice pieces to take home. The car top “ love shack” looks pretty cool, basic but gets the job done. I’m a bit older so we go for the moderate size, popup campervan, has all we need except for toilet, which we do carry as well for those out of the way camping locations.
Some nice samples for the display cabinet. 👍 to Sarah as well, nice that she enjoys the hobby with you and gets to go camping & rockhounding for the weekend. I hope she had a great birthday & you spoiled her a little. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin

Wish I would have labelled them. 65 now and forgot where of the smaller ones came from. Going back to Utah this summer...keep up the good work!

Wow! I love your videos and the places you go. It's fascinating and I agree with your opinion on collecting. I have Had that huge collection before and I left my ex and had to do it quickly so I ended up leaving it all. I took the most important things whoch where the kids cats and dogs. Now that I am in an entirely different situation now and I have downsized and I only collect specimens. I will collect for a friend if they are in to collecting rocks but that's about it. Thanks for the awesome videos and logical insight. Some RUclipsrs do not bother with answering questions, unless they get donations or super chats. They just ignore you, so I appreciate you and Sarah!

Should be using a UV light, you'll know instantly if its fluorite.
In this mine it turns out that there is the Largest Quartz Crystal, this is very extraordinary friend.
It really is a very cool thing to see.

I've never heard of parisite. So, I just researched it more here after watching your video. I learn about so many cool new interesting minerals on your channel. Hopefully next time you guys can find a specimen you're very happy with. Still, you guys brought back a nice representation of what to be found out there. Stunningly beautiful local. I think its foolish for some to collect way more than one actually needs. Greed. Its good you stress this in your videos. Also, I was curious to know if you found any zeolites out there? I just loved seeing all the minerals at play there. Very cool area. Thanks for sharing this video 😁👍
Its a cool little mineral and at some point we will head back and hope to find a nice little cluster of them.

I certainly agree with the "Collect with a Purpose" ideal. I am very limited in space and the wife frowns when I bring home too much, she is a teacher and is very interested in minerals but is realistic about it. To some though it is literally an addiction and hard to say no to even the smallest piece. As far as fish creek goes we have a river in the eastern sierra that isn't quite that wide! Not sure what qualifies as a river, creek or stream! Your location in this video is beautiful and has gained my bucket list, thank you I enjoyed it.
I see that addiction in people and I'm not envious of them at all. Buckets do not bring happiness as much as a few selected samples.
Very cool. Thank you for sharing. I was wondering if you think about protection from predators. The four legged, the two legged and the ones that slither? I keep seeing uploads of bear attacks and such. Just thinkin'. I tend to overthink.
I think that purple is fluorite as well, but I’m not there, so I don’t know. Fluorite is one of my favs

Hey new sub here and just getting into crystal collecting. have found some nice pieces of late and just located 3 spots within a half hour drive. plan to try for permissions on those. I have a question, though - what did you use to clean up your crystals? I found some nice quartz clusters that are also crusted in iron stains and manganese and I've been thinking about the best way to clean them up. Did you just use muriatic acid or (also) something else?
The crystals were cleaned with Iron Out, took about 3 days of soaking to clean them up.

I've always wondered if maybe bringing something like a mountain bike might be feasible for sites like this so that you're not dead tired hiking in lol.
We would like something like that but it does come with extra costs and we operate on a shoestring around here.

They do come in other sizes, these are the traditional Perky Boxes.
The company Tucson Store Fixtures, has some different sizes and the best prices I can find on them.
