Hello. I have (3) Toshiba Qosmio X70-A laptops.
    (X70-A Part #PSPLTU-OL806S)
I’m a DJ and I need extra space for program music files that must live on the ‘C’ drive. (250GB of music files required storage on C drive.)
Unfortunately, my C drive is only 250GB / M.2 type.
I understand that my 250GB M.2 hard drive is up to (4) times faster than other SSDs. It boots up in seconds and is lighting fast, despite being an older machine.
Unfortunately, they’re attached to the motherboard, and very difficult for me to get at and upgrade. Plus, I’ve heard that older motherboards often fry when people upgrade the newer M.2 drives.
My Qosmio laptops have (2) additional 2.5 SATA hard drive slots.
I was thinking of adding (2) Samsung 8TB SSD drives, so I could carry my massive lifetime collection of DJ files, videos, photos, etc.
If I were to ‘Extend’ my ‘C’ drive to one of the 8TB drives, would it slow down my lighting fast ‘C’ drive?
Thanks, for helping me solve this puzzle.

No, it should not slow down your drive. The drive you operating system is on will still run just as fast. You can add more storage inside the computer or even externally if you like and just use it for file storage.

@@PC_Monkey Thanks! Should I 'Extend' my 'C' drive to include the full 8TB drive, or should I only allocate like (1) TB or so? Is there a disadvantage of having a 'C' drive that has a combined 8.25TBs, or should 'C' drive be as small as possible?
I've never 'Extended' a 'C' drive before, to include a 2nd internal hard drive. I'm not entirely sure how my operating system integrates with the 2nd hard drive.
