that is amazing that he started in 2022 and was already competing at that high of a level. I pray for all the families impacted by this.

my neoghbor was on her skating team, she was not on the plane thasnk goodness but she knew the coaches and skaters very well. she had invited me to a few of their competitions and I was able to watch all of these girls and boys skate. they were absolutely incredible and had loads of talent. when I heard the news I was so sad for the families of the skaters and for all of the people who had the pleasure of knowing them like I did. we all mis them so much.
All of this is unthinkable and unspeakable. I pray for supernatural strength and healing for all of those affected with grief.

I get that, but he wants people to remember and know his deceased family. He’s literally doing his loved ones a service by talking of them on tv. That’s how people remember.

Why such focus on the skaters? Media always seem to profile victims who are relatively attractive, as well as being white or Asian. You do realize there was a former Miss Kansas (a black woman) on that flight, don't you? Where's her spotlight?

There are plenty of victims not mentioned in this news segment, this is not racism, or being biased towards attractive people. They are also the victims with the most information, therefore making longer news segments and the media the most money. All victims deserve the same amount of respect, so don’t you dare try to come to unreasonable conclusions. Let those victims rest in peace.
Why bring color into this? First, most skaters are kids. Secondly, okay - now you may whine but it is the truth, accomplished figure skaters are rare breed, regardless of their colors.

To all the haters, I sympathize with the families who lost their loved ones. Really, I do. But there seems to be media bias for race. Non-black people tend not to notice this. And why would you? Your "prayers" are for those who look like you.
I've scoured dozens of reports. Few mentioned the Miss Kansas contestant, or even the lone black flight attendant. The push back to me pointing this out is very telling. All souls lost in this incident deserve the spotlight; not just figure skaters.
There were a lot of Asians on the skating teams and some Russians. I thought it was odd that the young asian guy had an all American name but then it showed that he and his brother were adopted. Very sad that this happened to all these young athletes and all those lost aboard. So sad that a young Russian guy, Max is no longer with his parents.
