We were so impressed with the Naumov family when we spent time with them at the old Skating Club of Boston. Our hearts break for the entire skating community, and notably our neighbors and friends at The Skating Club of Boston in Norwood. There is so much excitement focused on the World Championships at TD Garden and this stunning, tragic news is just devastating. Nancy said it best, skaters are always taught to get up, but the emotional recovery will not be easy. Our thoughts are with you all, especially Max.
Oh my. My heart breaks for everyone. May Max continue to make his parents proud. And even though this is a few years ago, he looks like the perfect blend of both parents.
I had the good fortune to spend time the Vadim and Evgenia back in 1992 when they came to the Bay Area to compete at the World Championships that were held in Oakland that year. They were always truly wonderful people. - My heart is broken knowing of their tragic passing (and, of course, the passing of all involved in the horrible crash that took place.) I can only imagine what their son must be going through. Devastating, just devastating. Blessings to all of their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
As a figure skating mom my heart is broken for all those lost. My daughter skated in Reston, VA and went To the US figure skating championships in 1999. I Pray for all families in the plane especially all those moms and kids.🙏🏼🙏🏼
Rest in Power Evgenia and Vadim! 1/29/2025…GONE TOO SOON. Your legacy will never be forgotten. Maxim we love you! Anything you need you let us know ok? We are here for you!
RIP to all who lost their lives💔 My heart goes out to Max. You can see how they all appreciate and love each other. They were having good times being a family and still successful with difficult training days. Just feels unreal..
Such a beautiful family. Sending so much love to Max. RIP Vadim and Evgenia. Your memories are a blessing to those you knew and those you did not know through the extended global figure skating community!
I’m so sorry for this boy… To lose both parents at once, out of nothing, I only can try to imagine his pain… I wish him all the strength and love in this world to get through this and survive this ❤❤❤❤
Resquiat in pacem to glorious world champions! Shishkova and Naumov died on January 29, 2025 when the American Airlines plane from Wichita, Kansas they were on was hit mid-air by a US Army Blackhawk helicopter on approach to National Airport in Washington, DC. The US Figure Skating championships had been held the previous weekend in Wichita. Several other skaters and coaches from the US and Russia also died. In all, 64 died on the AA jet and 3 on the army helicopter. There were no survivors. But Shishkova and Naumov's art will live on.
My heart is broken for Maxim. I can only imagine how painful his grief is right now. I believe in the power of prayer, so I will pray for him for strength through this unthinkable ordeal.
@@tysonbradley1465 totally agree!!!i had them 2nd at 1994 olympics behind arthur and tatiana ( can t understand the othee russians won whereas they did not have triple side by side jumps and they made a fault on a side by side spin). i had them 1st at 1994 world (they were). but also 1st at 1996 world 1st at 1997 euro.
