Mmm, reading all the comments about my 76 series. To set the record straight, yes, it was expensive (70k+) but I had the money and contracted the job out to JACKSONS because of their good reputation. I am a veteran with multiple operational deployments under my belt and I need time to unwind. I ain't no yuppie, I am a retired war fighter preparing to tour our own backyard for a change. Since this fitout, I've returned my AWOL 76 to JACKSONS for a Torqit 200 series stainless steel Airbox and installation of a Long Ranger stainless steel 42lt underbody water tank with pump. My other half doesn't want to sleep on the dirt so I'm adding an AX27 Roof Top Tent and awning with solar panel. I will be AWOL for around a year. Will add a comment upon my return, OUT.

Kevin, never read the comments on a video you're involved with. It's always a shit-show of dick heads who don't know what they're talking about. I've just ordered a 76 and I'm going to pretty much do the same wheel/suspension upgrades you've done because they simply make sense. The guys talking shit are driving 90's Prado's with 450k kms on the clock with eBay snorkels their back-yard mechanic mate butchered putting in, an unsealed air box and no diff breathers with a pair of spotlights from Super Cheap. Don't even acknowledge them with a response.
The real healing journey would have been to get to it yourself …. Missed opportunity learning is key

It was actually over $70k
The 70 is a work truck, it's bought by mostly the mining industry as a reliable tool, and farmers buy the work mate as dailies. Of course private buyers modify them for their specific needs. You're not spending 80k on one for an over-lander platform if you don't have the money to modify it. Name a more reliable truck as a base platform?

im fixing up my HJ45, the chassis is to far gone so i need to replace it, just looking for a chassis recommendation by other landcruiser fans, im not a 4x4 expert and the most i would use it for is maybe going down the creek to camp or on some rougher dirt roads so nothing too crazy, what do you guys recommend, ive heard allot about the 60 and 80 series chassis being great for the coil overs but is that just for 4x4 or daily driving comfort?

Yes it is and we've done plenty of conversions before 👍🏼
from India . . . seriously interested to acquire three brand new (specially built by Jackson's 4X4) TOYOTA Land Cruiser 79 GXL (HZJ) 4WD + 3.0 in. Lift 4.5 TDI V8 4-Dr Crew Cab Camper Pickup Truck (RHD) & two brand new TOYOTA Land Cruiser 76 GX (GRJ76) 4WD + 3.0 in. Lift 4.2 Biturbo V6 5-Dr SUV (RHD) . . . as shown in this video . . . would prefer both vehicles with a torque converter 6-speed auto transmission . . . please advise . . .
have a question, but not related to this video . . . 4WD SUVs & light pickup trucks equipped with a 2.0 in. or 3.0 in. suspension lift actually has different level (clearance/height) of lift between the forward & aft suspension setup . . . if the front axle has a true 3.0 in. lift then the rear axle has something like a 2.6 in. or 2.5 in. lift . . . so my question is why's the lift less at the rear? might as well have a true 3.0 in. of full spec suspension lift both at the front & rear . . . if not why??? please advise . . .
Why not? You definitely can install a 2inch lift kit front and back and have them aligned equally, but then you will look acceleration power, and stability during serious off-roading. This is why i lifted by tahoe by 2 inch front & 1 inch in the rear.
@@nyzz1351 in that case, based on your understanding i can have a 2.0 in. suspension lift in the forward axle & 1.5 in. lift in the rear axle . . . thanks for the clarification my friend . . . ur right, with a 2.0 in. lift both front & back stability will be an issue . . . high centre of gravity will create negative inertial forces . . .

@@fletch872 Hahaha anything that comes with cup holders, over 150Hp power, can flex, is comfortable, doesn’t break down or blow up constantly because of the stupid dpf, an engine you can actually work on in the bush that isn’t the world most crowded engine bay, doesn’t need to have the rear axle and diff housing corrected………oh did i mention something under 70k from brand new 😂
Keep telling your self there good mate but absolutely everyone in the real 4x4 world is completely over them, 90% of the yuppies that buy the 1VD 76,78,79s only buy them to use as a hand bag accessory to show off to the other yuppies
