- We continue our reaction to Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... the 2001 SRK romance film from Karan Johar. The film also stars Kajol, Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor.

Poo was such an iconic character. Most of the Indians remember all her dialogue
Din't expect you to adore poo as much as we do.. Because she can easily come across cringey.. But kareena made the character lovable and in a strange way empowering as well because back in 2001 there weren't many female characters who portrayed self love so well..
Not self love, it's self obsessed
I expected them to love her, westerns have the sensibility to understand that it was a great act which she did adorably. She received an equal, if not more hate than love from Indians, most were so triggered and took it out on her in such vile ways. No actress should have to endure this. Kareena made this character iconic and also Geet from JWM. She’s the only actress with not 1 but 2 iconic characters that are still relevant, loved and talked about today, over 2 decades later.
It was hard for kareena to shine in this movie among established actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan nd Kajol was everyone's fav Leading lady she had done brilliant work in 90s nd Hrithik n kareena perform soo good in this.
Kajol has not done brilliant work. Neither she nor SRK are very good actors. They became the favorites because benefitted from the changing zeitgeist in India at the time and became the face of the evolution which young Indians needed but mostly it was him and she got a free ride on his coattails. An example of brilliant work is what Kareena did with this character, she basically saved this long, drawn out film. Kajol has never been able to do such great acting. She’s the same in every movie and real life....unnecessarily too loud, overacts and over the top even when the character does not demand it. You don’t get the character, you always get Kajol.
The grandma said it all Rohan fought destiny to be born and he was the family’s strength - hence why he had to be the one to reunite them
The songs which have the familiar female singing voice is sung by Alka Yagnik. One of the most popular playback singer of Bollywood during 90-00’s. The evergreen pair of Udit Narayan-Alka Yagnika was over popular during that time.

I even swear that I will always love this film, how it never gets old even though it is watched in the current era and was produced in the 90's, it is extraordinary, sad, beautiful and very funny at the beginning,I even rewatch it 2-3 times every year

You guys should watch thatnone also DDLJ as this movie has changed the face of Indian Cinema and it is still screening at Maratha Mandir Mumbai Cinema till now! That's 29 years old all-time blaockbuster!
20:11 - Great question -- well this particular singer is Alka Yagnik (born 1967) and she was the most popular vocalist of her time, she had her breakthrough in 1988 and reigned from about 1993-2003. Her predecessor of sorts Lata Mangeshkar (born 1929) who sings the title track (for Jaya Bachchan who plays SRK's mom) has a similar tone/pitch/style.

I would say around 1999-2000 new voices started breaking through which were very different from this older style and almost Western in their vocal delivery and intonation: with Sunidhi Chauhan (born 1983) leading the pack, and now the likes of Shilpa Rao (born 1984), Jonita Gandhi (born 1989), and Nikhita Gandhi (born 1991) are singing all the popular tunes.
Shreya Ghoshal (born 1984) is the current Top Star, she's versatile and does both varieties well although more known for continuing the older high-pitched classical-style -- she debuted in 2002.

Every woman playback singer voice sound similar cause 90 % popular song during 1980 to 2010 sung by 1 legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, she died at 92 in 2022, she sang 30,000 song in her life for movies, yaah u heard right

I enjoyed your reaction to K3G, though! It was fun! I watched part 1 too..! Yeah back in early 2000, KJo used to make over the top, mellow drama movie..but i must admit that Kjo's movie is fun@guilty pleasure kinda movie. Fun family movie!
I have no issue with u guys munching while watching the movie. I am not sure why others find it offended..its's normal, though!

@@septleaves8521 He, Salman Khan, Amir Khan - everyone can act. Very few people in the industry cannot act or are bad at acting. SRK is not one of them, and you would know if you saw Swades, Chak De! India, Devdas, Veer-Zaara, Baazigar, and Darr. But haters always say things like that because they have hate to spread.
