Saving A Striker Who Can’t Score (Saving Your Saves)

- We all have an understanding of who should be scoring our goals in Football Manager. Even if we are doing well in our FM save if the goals are coming from areas we don’t expect our striker, not scoring can create a feeling of anxiety. Your striker needs to score goals for you to be successful long term. That is the prevailing wisdom of football manager. I suppose I’m here to help you figure out how to fix this problem but also teach you when to ignore it because it is not always true.
We spend a good deal working on finances in this save your saves. There are club planning parts and other things that guide you to football manager glory. I am trying to pick a collection of different tough saves to provide a broad range of experiences to make you a better FM player. It is also the last SYS on FM21, so I hope we covered enough bases to help you enjoy FM21 for years to come if you choose to not buy another FM for a few years.

A tip about the Belorussia save -- Russian players are considered as non-foreigners in the Belorussia league. So you can try your "loan luck" in the Russian Premier League. Even the second Russian tier league will have loan players good enough for Smorgon.
I've done some scouting of loan listed players at the highest rep Russian clubs because they aren't foreigners, but they wanted too much wage contribution for my board to be willing to have me bring them in. I have had some thoughts about scouting the next tier of Russian clubs to see if I can get some prospects there that are more affordable.

Finished 8th or 9th with them in my first two seasons, now in 2nd place in a very close title fight with a 13 game unbeaten run I believe in FM19. I haven't played that save in a while, have to go back to it some day.
@@kulert4777 I started playing in Belarus in FM21 before even discovering Z, did an unemployed start in the and got a job with them, they were quite poor midway through the season of the First League... definitely bottom half, managed to finish 6, just nine points below the winners. Won the league and got promoted in the first full season. First Highest League season finished 5th, one point off of European Places 😥 It was still up in the air on the final matchday, but I dropped too many points and wasn't in control - needed two games to go my way, only one did. Then I slumped to 12th and 14th (1 point above relegation 😅). Got offered a job in Greece regardless, so took that opportunity since I just wanted to start from zero and see where it goes. Doing great there with Asteras Tripolis, so can't exactly pinpoint what was my downfall at Gomel. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

Little history lesson: H & W Welders are actually named after two cranes that helped build the Titanic in Belfast's port. The two cranes are called Harland and Wolff, their homeground is situated with the cranes as the backdrop, a cool club with a cool backstory and a stones throw from my own house.
That and the ship company was Harland and Wolff shipyard :)

(Sheffield UTD) I did a custom database with the real life results from the 2020 season. So I started in the championship. I meant to say that we were close to getting champions league in our 2nd season in the prem but we’re struggling to get europa in the 2 years after. But thanks for including me!

It's actually not that hard to challenge for Europe after a few seasons. I won the Prem with Blackburn in my third season in the Prem. With their side, they have crazy wonderkids who are already good, so I don't see how it's edited.

@@evangalilee657 I was 15th in my first season after getting promoted in my first championship season. Second season was poor and I finished 16th. Next season it clicked and I got 4th, won the league the season after
@@evangalilee657 2:14 I was talking about how he somehow got relegated in last place in the prem and won the championship all in the same season.
Once you get to that point where you are top half of the league and have a few wonderkids, it's time to sell on some players to raise cash, and then you want to look for a couple of 22-25 year olds who can raise the quality of your club stepping into your starting 11. Make sure to be scouting all the time, and look for transfer listed bargains at the start and close of transfer windows. Top clubs will often sell off their surplus players, and the guy is like 23, 24 or 25 but he would immediately upgrade your club, make sure to talk to agent to see if salary demands meets your budget, but this is a key way to take the step to the next level, sometimes picking up just 2 quality players in a window will make a huge difference. PS Team leadership matters. Not many people discuss it, but keeping smooth locker room and dealing with contracts, having 1 or 2 good leaders is HUGE.
I've played Northern Ireland Save to 2047, my recommendation is to offer a trail to EVERY Premier league youth Departure the day they are released, at minimum 1 or 2 will accept and be really good for the team.
Also usually worth it to offer trails for the better Championship clubs youth departments
i can confirm it also works in scotland, even if you are in the highest level
I do this wherever I am, you can get a few good players from the top 5 leagues

A tip for that last save, when you start signing these players that have been all around the world even if at a low level ask them for a signing recommendation, one time I found a failed Atletico Madrid academy player that was happy to sign for me for a really low wage that was actually REALLY good (he even made 2 senior appearance for Atletico iirc) that was happy to sign for me purely because he hadn't played for a club in 3 years. (since the Atletico Madrid academy cut him).
The other guy in my team played with him once when they were like 15 at the youth team the good player was at before Atletico snapped him up.
That said a lot of players will give you junk reccomendations, for me it really depends on what FM you are playing, different FMs seem to produce different results and sometimes your entire squad will recommend one player that was sold just before you arrived

May have already been said, but if not it may interest you to know, H&W welders are Harland and Wolf Welders, the company that built the Titanic. The badge shows the crane from the shipyard. They recently built the new stadium at a cost of £5million
Zealand, every single save goes well in the first half of the season letting me fight for Europe but then I start loosing every single game and end up being out of Europe spots.

Try having a secondary (or even third) tactic that you swap between. From what I understand some teams learn how you play and will slap you on the returning fixture. This is also useful if you're gegenpressing non stop and need a lower intensity tactic to get some time to breathe.
Solution: Get relegated. No more worries about european football

Oh wow I actually got saved. I'd run the probability and had decided to finish out the season without waiting for this video. We ended up finishing 5th, 1 point out of 3rd and a guaranteed European place (4th would have put me at the mercy of the Belarusian Cup, which finishes next spring). I should be pleased with that league finish considering that we were 700-1 to win the league and 2nd favorites to go down, but it feels a bit hollow when we got that close to Europe and failed to get it.
I'm glad you didn't look at the team comparison because your reaction may have been along the lines of: "Forget Europe, be happy with being top half with a squad this bad." I received a $50k boost in sponsorship revenue after going from 9th to 8th, so I wouldn't be surprised if I get a little bigger boost in sponsorship for next season but that still won't come close to balancing the books.
Now to respond to what Z said:
1. Only the players with the gray Fgn tag next to them are considered foreigners and Russians are one of two nationalities never considered foreign, so I only had 3/4 foreign players at this point. The orange injured Colombian DC got his Belarusian nationality late in the season (I don't remember if it was before or after the submission). The Brazilian winger is nationality eligible this winter. Point well taken though about saving a loan spot or 2 for foreign loans.
2. At 12:05 you can see that I've had Timofey Sharkovskiy at my club before. I'd had him in since July of the year before on a free loan from BATE until they sold him out from under me this July. He'd been a bit underwhelming with me posting a ~6.6 rating in 21 apps over parts of 2 seasons, primarily off the bench as a sub.
3. I've tried asking for a senior affiliate a couple times before and they've said they'd rather not be reliant on loans, but I'll keep asking when I can.
Oh and by the way, there's no e in Loony, but don't feel bad you're not the only content creator that's had problems with that. KEKW

Almost all my single-striker formations work with inverted wingers or inside forwards to get the goals and have a Targetman, Deep Lying Forward, or False Nine in the middle to facilitate for the wings cutting inside. (I've noticed that the match engine has some issues coping with that.)
This does lead to a lot of press conferences asking about my striker having "a bad day in front of goal".... bitch he had 4 assists. What the hell do you mean "bad day"?

The only way to actually make yourself top team from nowhere is basically to found loophole tactics. Those that abuses game engine. Lots of tactics creators make this if that’s what you’re trying to have. Everyone have different goals in playing fm so I don’t judge them.

If you ever play at a different stadium in a season for example I was wrexham playing at the racecourse ground then it got revamped with extra seats from august to April playing at the bet 365 so I had really poor home form conceding late in games often when I went back to the racecourse and went unbeaten for the rest of the season so stadiums may be reason for poor form

I'm wondering...at the end u were talkin about trials, that they upset the training a bit...now my solution to that is that i always put all my trials into the second team, cuz mostly i'm only interested in their stats and personalities, but is that misleading? Like, is there a thing, that in this case i get only reports from my second team staff on the players or what i see is the real thing that my manager can judge out of that player?

Offer trials and loans to players on the Portuguese b teams. Absolute monsters in my Swedish league save. Should work great for belreaus and Northern Ireland
None as they aren't doing a FMT anymore due to "low sales" yet they are doing a FMT for the Switch.....which was awful last year, it had lackluster updates to which sega/si were blaming Nintendo, the switch version had no unlockables or editor, was limited to a max of 3 nations (which is a requirement if you want to cross save) buuuut there was no cross save enable. So this year they are doing the FM22 and mobile FM and a Switch FMT which will run just as slow, be watered down too.

Striker dont score ?I dont renmeber whem scoring my stiker..but my team win..in strikers roles we have strike who is not finisher..finisher role is poacher advanced forward,we have link player-target man deeplying forward ,tehnical players false 9 and treqartista...and compleze forward is mix of all attackers..formaion in playing ypur striker-strikers..eg if you play 4-3-2-1 we have many possibilite and combinatio better team have complitet forward but what is you not have CF?..you must be creativity and go to roles combinations...
