Thumbit if John Oliver from #lastweektonight brought you here. I was turned back onto you last year due to John. but I remember catching you a few times on t.v. a decade ago whenever I was in D.C. Honestly, I found you just another good reporter with his own way of covering the beat. But 2010-2013 when I travelled to the Capital, seems like a century ago when I see how the #news is covered today. Which is why last year when John turned me back onto you, I realized what I saw over a decade ago, though rare, still could be found coast-to-coast. From local to national. A decade ago I took you for granted. You were rare then. Today you are priceless. It truly makes me tear up thinking that whatever-you-want-to-call the under 20 crowd (and I'm closer to them than you in age btw) find you quirky, funny, and eccentric. Quaint. But they really don't see what I see sir. And that is the problem and why I tear up. I see the definition of the word NEWS and how it is being "reported" drastically changed to the point the definition really is "Infotainment". These networks and those that work for them aren't even trying to hide this anymore. Just in the past month all these revelations, and yet... -And yet People Still Don't Care. They swallow wholesale anything that aligns with what "feels" true to them. Thinking it is their ideology that the news is conforming to, when in fact their ideology was instilled in them long ago. Swapped at whim. Corporations knows what the term "long game" means (Hell, they probably invented it). They knew the first (and the death knell blow) would be to strip away the ability to use, or for that matter even know, critical thinking. With that gone it was much easier to grease the slide. But I digress... Anyway.. (I love tangents-they are my jam) They don't see what I see.. You could cover ANYTHING and make it palatable. If someone is reading this and hasn't done so already, just look at the clips online(you will see) News can not be reported like that today because generations are lacking the tools to understand how. No longer are people being taught How-To-Think, it's now What-To-Think. And Those-That-Be want to keep it that way. The best con is when the conned think they are the one doing the con. This is not conspiracy talk. This is REAL TALK. So, dammit Andre' what do you see? I see another Great riding off into the sunset (Prematurely I might add) Another blow... Please become a columnist (another dying breed), for a newspaper (another dying thing). You may be already. I am on the other coast so time zones lol. Teach, if there is anyone still left that wants to learn. But sir, the fight that those of the like of Morrow, Cronkite, Walters, Bradley, and you, have fought? It's not over. At least I refuse to believe that. As long as there are people like me, that recognize people like you, it just can't be over. The mortality of The Fifth Column is truly at stake. I am sure you are tired, and what I have said I know you see (way better than I, I'm sure) But find some small way, any way at all, to stick it to them. You are an inspiration to me sir. Everyone has a role to play, that has this in their blood. I'm still trying to figure out mine (and it may be a ship done sailed). But you are still from the side of strength, even if they fail to see it. Half a century you have, for me if only.... I know I am a month late(timezones). I just don't want to say goodbye. To you and what you represent to me. So instead: After the Break-SPORTS!!

I only recently discovered you, and after watching your news reports, I can confidently say that you'd do great at reading poetry at poet clubs.
