  • Hi everyone, hope you're all well
In this weeks clip I am reviewing our 30 second wing awning that Ive had fitted to the land cruiser for 4 years. I show you how its mounted, any faults and fixes as well as my thoughts on how it's going and what I think after this time.
I hope you find this clip interesting and of some use.
    Disclaimer
Mudduck's 4wd touring is in no way connected to or sponsored by 30 second wing awning. All comments and opinions in this clip are my own and not paid for. I paid full retail price for this awning and have used it for 4 years.

Havent seen anyone else around the area with one. Looks like a better option regards strength and ease compared to rival products.

Never spray zips with any form of lubricant ......it holds dust and pre-wares zip teeth along with the slide ....Only clean zips with water and a stiff brush ....I find a hard bristle tooth bush works best....Was told this from a very very good Vehicle Upolsterer ...Great Vid review BTW

Thanks for the info mate, always been told silicon spray or drylube was ok, but am always happy to learn. Thanks for watching and the help. Cheers Steve

@@MudducksTouringAustralia That comment may of sounded arrogant sorry lol ....But the chap whom I was friends with for many many yrs .....One of the best in the industry ....he told me when I always had issues with my canopy zips over the yrs ...I did the same as you and sprayed silicone ...He said "FFS stop spraying shit on your zips ...Only water warm with detergent to remove the shit you have on there now!...use a tooth brush and scrub both sides of zip teeth .....Then only ever use water and the same brush to keep it clean ..Take the tooth brush with you on trips and do it dry when zips get clogged up with dust" .....Since then I started doing that never had a zip issue again ....Oh and never put a zip tie through the hole on the end of the tag ....he clipped me in the ear for that one :)

Always handy to have an awning thats for sure. Looks nice & easy to set up and the free standing would be a good feature. Seems to have held up well over the years mate. Also where was my sticker???? Lol.

Nice vid Steve - I enjoyed your honest and detaiked review 👍 I've been looking at these for about as long as you've had yours and the 30 sec always looked the best bang for buck! I pulled the trigger on the drifta 270 last week and just installed it yesterday so I'm bloody excited to get out there and use it properly! The drifta has less cover but is a better fit for my 90 series Prado size wise and it weighs a bit less at 18kg so that's what pushed it over the line for me. The quality seems really good for the $$ but only time will tell. Good to see yours has lasted well. Thanks again Ben 👍
PS I reckon if you installed another bracket or perhaps 2 it would get rid of the flex in it. Perhaps t 2 brackets close to the hinge end would be best and then 2 evenly spaced out along the length. Saw a good mounting vid recently -ruclips.net/video/MlhqXii3rvs/видео.html

Thanks for the kind words Ben. I have been looking at doing different brackets but honestly its hard up fine so it keeps getting pushed back for cooler mods lol. Cheers Steve
