Distortion sound comparison of Yamaha Pacifica 012 and 212. I recorded a song I recorded with 012 months ago with my new Yamaha Pacifica 212 in same settings.

212 is $100 higher, and has alnico pickups including coil tapping humbucker in rear, different tremolo saddles, gorgeous maple veneer top and alder body. 212 has brighter tone.
All guitar tracks were recorded with Yamaha Pacifica 012 and 212 / iRig HD 2 / AmpliTube for iPad / AmpliTube 5(Re-amp) / CloudBounce.

PAC012 and PAC112V are both superb guitars on a pricepoint 'bang for the buck' basis. PAC212V is PAC112V in fancy dress for which a handsome premium must be paid by those wanting it. The first two are outstanding performers for the money at their respective pricepoints.

The 012 sunds better in my ears, a bit more open/airy/clear. Played in a band I will think that the 012 will cut thru more easily,

012 has a heavy quack tone like a vintage strat. That's because of the ceramic pickups.

To tell the truth, 012 was more comfortable to play than 212. Since 212 is easier to get nuances, I had to be careful about picking. And the condition of this 012's neck was very good.
What is the name of the first song you played?
My 012 has a ton of noise when played with overdrive. Noise suppressor helps a lil bit but it'd be nice to learn how to get such a clean sound like here
In my case, most of noise came from power outlet of my house. I get less noise when I play guitar with battery powered amplifier or other devices like audio I/F. I recorded this video with my iPad and iRig HD 2, they are battery powered and not connected to power outlet.
To the OP: Let some experienced player or tech play your guitar and check the noise. High noise in positions 3 and 5 is expected (ie when single coils are played). But should be considerably lower in other cases (humbucker or two coils at once). Sometimes excessive noise indicates that some wires need to be resoldered and the noise will go away. A tech should be able to diagnose quickly.
Check your grounding, i have same issue recently, and then i try to wire my equipment and attach the wire to ground using nail, the noise is gone immediately.
@@croquetteguitar same problem at my place! That is why I bought Yamaha THR wireless - it solved the issue and sounds great!
Could be a grounding issue or you might need to shield it with aluminum foil. None of those options are hard to pull off, try checking vids on youtube and see if you can do it yourself.

Between Bacchus BST-2-RSM and Pacifica 112V. Which one do you think is better?
Difficult question but Pacifica 112 / 212 is a little bit better for me. I prefer tall frets but BST-2-RSM has short frets.

@@jeffu190 Bacchus has warmer tone, Yamaha has brighter tone and longer sustain. Very hard to say which one is better, but I recommend 112 (or 212).

If you like the look of 012, I recommend 012. I prefer the sound of 012. The only thing I feel 212 is better than 012 is its appearance. The quilt top of 212 is simply so beautiful.
