I honestly can't believe that this finished second to last in a 100% jury era. How can you call yourself a professional jury and put this song under 10th place?
@@kaareltakeba2858 We tried in 1993 as well with Janika Sillamaa's "Muretut meelt ja südametuld" but we did not qualify in Ljubljana. I love this song anyway.
I love it when you come across songs sung in different languages than English. They score poorly in Eurovision -sadly often- so we are all walking to a boring Eurovision in English.
I think (hope) that, in light of this years winning song, we'll see less countries next year who destroy songs by translating them into often crappy english (like Albania, every effing year), or squeezing in some english to gain more votes (like France this year). There should be a rule against that kind of crap.
flaekon, I agree. This year Italys entry song was mostly in Italian, but there was also a few words of English, Ancient Greek and Sanskrit as a spice. And maybe victory of Portugal causes a trend that non-English-speaking countries preffered their own languages. For example, Slovenian Broadcasting Company stated that in next years National Qualifiers of Slovenia, songs in English are not allowed. This thing give a little Bit More hope.

I'd say in the light of recent events it's starting to go the right way. A lot of native language songs on Eurovision 2018 made it to the final.
