Can you use a concrete blade on you circular saw and cut a channel both sides and then just jackhammer the middle to create your channel? I prefer to have my sink in front of the window, giving me a view for the amount of time I spend in front of it but with these old houses and retro fits, sometimes compromises need to be made. I must say that method of old wiring gives me worries, but I guess stone doesn’t burn.
That's what I was after, but in the end B sold me on the idea of having a view out from the breakfast bar / hob rather than from the sink. Time will tell I guess :-)
I don't know how it works in the UK, but in Italy the electrical and thermo-hydraulic systems must be installed and certified by a professional technician, you shouldn't do it alone, on a bureaucratic level you could run into serious trouble
It's all good. The Electrician and Plumber come along every so often to check my progress and then correct my mistakes. They do all the connecting so that they can certify me.
Still trying to find out how old the Kasbah and House is. I'm told the area is one of the oldest in Europe going back to the Crusades which makes sense I guess. The house itself has clearly grown over time with add on building and floors built on top of the existing. The historians say at least 600 years. I'll do some digging when I get time at the local Council.....

In Australia all of the wires in special tubes. Look good and more safe as not covered can be braked and damaged.🌞
I now think them a great idea - especially now the rewiring has started. So much easier :-)

It's a whole other can of beans wiring an old stone house.
You sound like you have experience :-)
This is an very old and irregular electric system. Now It's all different and security, these works make's nothing more
It's ist nothing spectacular.
In the time this House was built they did it this way. Today it is different.
