Yes u and I are citizens , individuals , adults ... we have existence ...only if people could understand ... I am 18 but I have huge plans ahead ...wish me luck ..Love from Pak💚
I dont think this issue is with girls only, there are boys who are facing that too, including me "Bhai agar kuch karay ga nahi to koi apni beti kasay dega?" "Bhai apna haal dekh gym ja varna koi apni beti nahi dega" i mean seriously? Why does everyone care about marriage more than that person? Its just the backwardness of this era
Hannan Faisal its not like nobody ever cared about the person though.. i see it like this; when we are kids we are cared for, prepared for the future, we learn how to live life the best we can etc. Then the time comes where we have to take on the place of the previous generation and start a new generation, passing down our values like this. And that is how life continues. And yes, men definitely have their issues too, it is not just women that experience difficult times.
thats because ... they try to tell u ... learn to take care of urself first to take responsibility of someone else. its not wrong. its like advice about reality of life.
Just what I was thinking. It's the same with boys in our society. I see it happen to my brother a lot more than it happens to me. And he's 4 years younger than me. I guess he just needs it more than me. Lol
You are absolutely right. Even the fact that men are given a burden from birth, saying that they should study and stay strong, no one hears them when they're sad. Dear men, I lost 2 dear brothers due to depression, talk about your problems, you matter. Turn yourself off if you're sad because you cannot jump without going down.
I can totally relate to what she is saying. I am 27 years old, Indian. I met a Pakistani women in america who asked me, "kis pagal kutte ne bol Diya tumhe america aane ko, apne walid walidein k sath nahi reh sakti Kya?" This is an incident that happened with me and I will remember it for life. We often remember how people made us feel so i guess yeah, i will never forget those lines coming out of her mouth. I chose not to tell her anything bcz she was a mother of 2 and if that's what she had to say to someone younger than her, then I have nothing to tell her. This incident also made me realise how society thinks about women and how small and insignificant our dreams our in front of their eyes. This is how society is, perhaps I would have had a similar response if I were in my hometown. I bet atleast one of my relative would have asked me the same question. So guys, this is not a problem of India or Pakistan. It's much bigger and it's everywhere. I guess this is something that we all must realise. I am successful today and not dependant on any man. So my dear sister's, wherever you are, India or Pakistan or any other country, follow your heart and nothing is more important than your own life, career and dreams.
I am so proud to see a Pakistani girl so strong and determined in standing up and talking about this issue. Please keep it up and make our women strong in just being their own self! THANKYOU!

How exactly you plan to raise your kids without having education. I guess we have quite alot unmarried educated women out there but what we really need is EDUCATED MARRIED WOMEN who can raise further more generations who’ll be educated because she was. Shaadi is not just for unparh, man!! Kitchen me sirf unparh khana ni banatey!
I agree with one part but one can be a stay at home parent and be educated. I think such decisions should be made by individuals and their partners. Not be society that how should a couple play their role to be part of a place.

Will write everything below-: 1. You are good in english more than your urdu or hindi. Its a compliment. 2. You described well about your views and thoughts in the lahore society and how you faced problems for being an individual... 3. I found few media personal as well as the few speeches were really well explained. May be its only 1% of the population but it will give a better impact on pakistans progress. Before 6 months its the worsts to see any news channels of any country its justs negetivity and now many things has improved hope the ship never sink. 4. It seems you learnt and memorise a lot in explaining these words like poems. Justs many peoples dont have heart and may be thats why they remain in that condition as you described. May be they are foxys and for them what matters is not love its something other things thats why they live like this. We are not here to judge as the result is contradictory. 4. These questions you described asked in the soviety are actually there reflection. Its their formation and may be its correct or not, lets again not judge. You know if you are breaking the age old rules its better to be self confident and true to yourself. If you have the courage you have the way. 5. Not well constructed, you say in hapazard way. Very well said. Thanks.

You are an amazing woman, Yusra. I have so much respect for you. You call people out without fear because you know what's right. You command a room. You don't care who you offend because some things need to be said. You speak with true authority. I don't understand Urdu but your emotions said it all. Thank you for speaking up.
My daughter is in her mid 20’s I let her be her own person but I do worry about her and other women getting married later and later. You have given a beautiful explanation but plz don’t forget marriage is completing half your deen.
So nice to hear you Yusra, so nicely spoken without putting anyone down; absolutely in love with your voice. Those poems are beautiful. Always been supportive, they're okay with me marrying whenever I am ready and with me adopting a kid. Lots of love from India :)
What an amazing poet. I couldnt agree more with everything shes fighting for. Being a woman is hard enough without all the pressures put on us by society. I am 29 and unmarried. I also had to have my uterus removed because of endometriosis so no children are in my future. I dont mind because I am happy with myself and my freedom of movement. It breaks my heart that so many women all over the world are shackled. I hope that I see some real change in my lifetime. It's going to take so much work but I believe people standing up and breaking the silence will make it so.
Beautiful thought process and very articulate. Its not about being married or not married but giving enough independence to make your own decisions and being in a physically and emotionally safe world.
I am a Pakistani girl. I am 14 years old and I was lucky enough to have moved to Saudi Arabia when I was 9. This lead me to see that the things that my culture has lead me to believe are not true and right. My didn't get to go to college because she got engaged at my age and she is the smartest I know. I don't want that for myself and luckily my parents agree with me but the judgement of my extended family can be so harsh without them realising it.
I completely agree with you. I too had to gulp down comments like why are you so picky about food your mother in law wont like it, why do you have so many shoes after all your husband will not allow these. I still unmarried and I am happy.

Not for bangladesh. Bangladesh is being more strict about Islam. In Islam, forcing women to get married is haram. Pakistan doesn’t follow Islam strictly. So that’s why they made their own version, instead us Bangladeshis follow the Prophets.

She is so delightful. I wish she had been my English teacher throughout my school life.
She pointed out a universal issue in subcontinent
no she is saying about her community
Shahzad Aslam yeah
Ravidas Nayak if you dig deeper it’s get universal due to misinterpretation. Misinterpretation Again misinterpretation of the common religion in that community which would prevent them from doing this yet they indulge. Other than that they are the architects of their own destruction

why I clicked this video is because she told that she is unmarried in Pakistan. I am a Indian girl, who always wanted to change world and one of goal is I will not marry.I saw myself in her .Everyone here in this world has a real existence in planet. Our duty is to find what it is?..

I dont think this issue is with girls only, there are boys who are facing that too, including me
"Bhai agar kuch karay ga nahi to koi apni beti kasay dega?"
"Bhai apna haal dekh gym ja varna koi apni beti nahi dega" i mean seriously?
I agree with you. But most of the time it's asked from the girls why isn't she married? How does she look? Bandi Sundar nahi hai! What's that?
Just what I was thinking. It's the same with boys in our society. I see it happen to my brother a lot more than it happens to me. And he's 4 years younger than me. I guess he just needs it more than me. Lol
You are absolutely right. Even the fact that men are given a burden from birth, saying that they should study and stay strong, no one hears them when they're sad.
Dear men, I lost 2 dear brothers due to depression, talk about your problems, you matter. Turn yourself off if you're sad because you cannot jump without going down.
I am from India and I liked the way u talked about women's rights.

pakistan strictly need these type of independt girl. just wowwwww, look at her confident.lots of love and support fron INDIA
This was in Lahore, one of the biggest and most modernized cities in Pakistan, it is very common for girls to be liberal and independent in the city.
We do have.
@Uym O Hi, I have seen you in so many comments section. How are you? Are you from India too like me?
suraj sathyarthi Pakistani girls are undoubtedly confident but with dignity Alhumdulillah
We have many.. thanks for your concern
The way she speaks. It's priceless. How she put her minds and thoughts into words are inspiring and her voice is being heard. Loved it.❤️

Will write everything below-:
Thanks.

So nice to hear you Yusra, so nicely spoken without putting anyone down; absolutely in love with your voice. Those poems are beautiful. I am 27 and I feel proud to have been privileged and being born in a family that respects my decisions.

This is true for the Entire subcontinent-India, Pakistan, Bangladesh
Not for bangladesh. Bangladesh is being more strict about Islam. In Islam, forcing women to get married is haram. Pakistan doesn’t follow Islam strictly. So that’s why they made their own version, instead us Bangladeshis follow the Prophets.
