When Rafi Sahab passed on, inspite of there being no internet or instant news those days, people spontaneously travelled in thousands to attend his funeral. They climbed the walls of cemetery and got injured on the glass shards on top, just to get a last glimpse of this legend. That was the love that Rafi sahab garnered. Just pure love.

@@PankajSingh-vs5mp right sir. Nobody can say that he was greatest singer. Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Mahindar Kapoor, Hemant Kumar were also great. I think that Mukesh was greater singer than Ravi. Personally i am big fan of Kishore Kumar, because of his powerful voice and style of singing.

His style was so majestic and magical that even before the video of a particular song is out, one could fugure out as to who the actor was by just listening the audio version. To answer your question guys, yes he is the most respected Male singer ever in Bollywood and the Female being Lata Mangeshkar. This position of theirs cannot be challenged and a close 2nd comes Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle if there ever was an authentic unbiased Ranking system.
You have reacted to a lot of his songs but then for obvious reasons, reactions are skewed towards the actors more.
If you want a pure singing reaction then either you may need to not have a video to it or ensure in the start that this reaction is for the actor also and the singer also. Maybe the composer also. You have not touched the surface also when you talk about Bollywood Music Directors yet.

I feel Lata Mangeshkar is highly overrated. Her voice is just too shrill and not soothing to listen to. Shreya Ghoshal is way better than her in every way possible.

This is my favourite Rafi song and I got goosebumps listening to it. It was a treat watching him sing it live. Thank you to whoever recommended this video out of the hundreds you could have recommended. Yes, the subtitles would have added another layer of magic and Rick would have been in tears, I think.

Rafi was the original playback voice. He would modulate his voice to fit different actors and different moods better than any other singer.
Rafiji is, was and will remain the ultimate. His voice was soulful, soothing calm like a slow flowing river but you won't believe he sang all shammi kapoor's songs.
