    I wish he'd agreed to play Bond, it would have been a great source of joy for his fans. However, I love the fact that he had high moral standards and was carefully selective about the roles he accepted. I love the fact that he married his beautiful wife in his 20s and both of them remained absolutely loyal and devoted to each other and their lovely daughters. I don't think any stage-TV-film actor matches his talent, charisma, personality, handsome good-looks, beautiful speaking-voice, and very high moral standards. He was a true genius. I grew up watching Danger Man and I've religiously followed his acting career. I've never been disappointed by any of his performances. I cried when he passed away. Thank you for all of your wonderful performances. RIP dearest dearest Patrick McGoohan.

    Patrick was miming to the drummer Joe Morello, but his actions were well in sync and time.
    His hours of practice in his garage certainly payed off.
    Most of today's drummers who mime aren't even that close.

    I've been a fan of Patrick McGoohan ever since I was a child in the 60's and saw him on The Wonderful World of Disney as The Scarecrow and in the movie Thomasina. I though he was so handsome and I loved the sound of his voice. I really thought at first he was playing the drums for real, but everyone in the comments say's he's miming it. But he does such a excellent job of it, he appears to be playing it himself. I can't imagine how many hours it took of practicing to become that good and make it appear real. A wonderful actor. I was so sad when he pasted away. One of the greats.

    McGoohan does a very good job of mimicing a drummer here. Allan Ganley was a Trixon endorser so, possibly, this is his kit. Early on, it is apparent that McGoohan can not play the triplet on the ride cymbal, but the audience would not realize this. Some of this is McGoohan and the rest Ganley. Well done, on the whole. I've seen this film a coupla times, always entertaining.

    • @ctcasey8683
      @ctcasey8683 Год назад +1

      Right. In addition to the triplet on the ride, McGoohan, at one point, is rolling on the high tom when we are hearing a roll on the floor tom. BUT, he still does a fantastic job! Both McGoohan and Ganley did their jobs well.

    Patrick McGoohan is awesome--'intense' should have his photo for the dictionary definition. The characters he plays here and in 'Hell Drivers' (1957) have wonderful contempt for those who can't do the job as well as he; McGoohan always has a look on his face that says: "See that, you wankers? THIS is how it's done!"

    Reading some of the comments... my understanding was that Patrick trained really hard for the drumming solos. He joined the Musicians' Union so that he could actually play in the film, IIRC. It's possible that some of the close-up shots of the hands weren't his... the rest though is very much his handiwork.

    Very impressive miming but he is far too stiff to be playing this well but stiffness is because he is NOT a drummer but he does a good job. It would be interesting to hear what it would sound like without the ghost drummer.

      @ Misfit
      Good observation. Of course he is only acting the role of the drummer and so doesn't show the body language of the real thing. Nonetheless, a tribute to his acting skills and another string to his bow.

      stixkubwa Indeed and indeed. I was just trying to put to rest some of the claims he was drumming but he was a great actor as proven by The Prisoner which I recently watched from the start. Ideal for lockdown TV.

    Only thing that gives him away to real drummers his right hand is at awkward angle.
