Bienvenidos amigos to another episode of MLD!!!
Like many of you - when we moved to Puerto Vallarta Mexico we asked ourselves "Where do the locals shop". We were fortunate to find this AMAZING market pretty quickly located in Colonia Santa Maria every Saturday. I wouldn't call this a hidden gem (because it's anything but hidden) - but a lot of foreigners that live or travel here don't know about it.
This is where we buy our groceries, our clothes, our house supplies, our lunch and even some health products. Wether you're living here or visiting - this market is definitely worth checking out - even if just for the experience of shopping local.

Firstly, your children are absolutely adorable! It is insane how much we pay here in Canada for Fruit and veggies. And more so here in BC. So whenever we go visit our home in Mazatlan, we just enjoy the local markets. They are fabulous! Love your videos! thanks for putting out the fun and informative content! Wishing your family all the best! 🙂

Thank you so much 😊 Toronto was insane when we left - it was costing us about $50 just to pop in and get a few things. Not to mention the cost of eating out. It’s nice to be able to support locals by shopping and eating locally here - they’ve made that near impossible in Canada with the cost of goods.

Thank you! Shopping in local markets in Canada is where you find the most expensive produce, here it’s the opposite - go figure?!?!? We prefer to support the locals with most things here in PV and the experience had been amazing.

OMG😳😳😳 I am Plant Based and you know in the states I would have not been able to pay rent if I would have payed that amount of those veggies and fruits. Especially Organic. Goodness. Wow!!! I have been researching to leave the states and Puerto Vallarta is at the top.

@@Morelifediaries it’s one of the main reasons I want to move out there. I just really eat fruit and veggies and this would be perfect. Also I am a Vet and I need to be close to the states so I can still be able to fly close to get my medication from the VA. I only get $1400 social security disability each month. Can I survive that? I don’t drink, party etc just live and I want to live like a local and not a crazy apartment.

There are small studio apartments, maybe 1 bedrooms for under $10K Pesos per month ($550 usd) depending on where you're looking so you could definitely make it work.

Nice video. I really miss Puerto Vallarta. It’s become so expensive there. I guess anything is cheap compared to Toronto but if you really want cheap, you should visit Colombia. With beautiful beach towns, like Santa Marta in San Andres, you can really have an amazing time and eat an abundance of fruits and vegetables for a fraction of the price you pay in Puerto Vallarta. Thank you for this wonderful video and enjoy your time in Mexico! Cheers from Yellowknife Northwest Territories 😊

I live in the states the way they live in Mexico ! I eat mostly local produce , I shop used clothing and everything else , I try to keep my foot print small , I try not to buy things that end up in the planet forever ( plastics ) I don’t shop at big box, I don’t buy “things” and I eat a lot of produce .
Except for not liking spicy 🌶️ looks like Mexico may be a good fit for me ?
