I have to share,my wife and I were devastated by the opening of this video.Glad to here your just leaving to visit family . We have visited PVR twice in the last 6 mths and are seriously considering it as our retirement home and tha k you for the wealth of information you have shared. Keep hugging those children !

I'm moving there in September from the US. Have heard about costs rising and people leaving because their fixed income isn't going as far. I understand it. I'll be working remotely as a telehealth therapist that I currently already do in the US so income won't be an issue for me. Rented a home in the Versailles neighborhood for a year's lease and went through a service that walked me through the temporary visa process, which made it so easy. There will be things I will need to adjust to like having patience and understanding the infrastructure is not what I'm used to but there are trade offs. I'm so glad I am renting a home with solar panels so it will ease the electric bill since I'm sure I will be running the A/C a lot during the worst of the summer months, but the house also has a pool so that will help. I'm still excited about the move and most looking forward to becoming fluent in Spanish instead of just conversational. I want to really immerse myself into the culture and the locals and live an authentic Mexican experience. I don't like the arrogance many foreigners bring. I recognize I am a guest in the country and I need to assimilate to their way of life.

We go to PV for vacation from Todo Santos.Because it's a lot cheaper than where we live. Much cheaper. And it's not very cheap. But cheaper.

Hello foreigners are the costing the PROBLEM, NOT mentioning the displacement off True Mexicans that CANNOT afford were they were Born. Especially Californian are the ones they created that problem they were the ones did the same thing in neighboring states in the US. Plus lots gringos move there thinking because they bought a house in Mexico they think they bought the Country.

Nice video. I really miss Puerto Vallarta. It’s become so expensive there. I guess anything is cheap compared to Toronto but if you really want cheap, you should visit Colombia. With beautiful beach towns, like Santa Marta in San Andres, you can really have an amazing time and eat an abundance of fruits and vegetables for a fraction of the price you pay in Puerto Vallarta. Very informative. I'm moving permanently in September and will be remote working and so the main selling point of the house I'm renting in Versailles is that it has solar panels so that will help with the A/C because I am liberal with using the A/C and don't want to get into the commercial rate. I will be brining my car as well but don't anticipate too much driving which is why I picked the neighborhood I did, which is around the corner from La Comer and other walkable shops, cafe's pharmacies, and restaurants. Costs are rising in PV and some ppl are saying they had to find a cheaper place to live or move altogether, but it is still very affordable. My big expense will be rent which is 38000 MX/month but I have no kids and so its still more affordable than where I am now.

No wonder so many Canadians and Americans go to PV as snowbirds, or move there full time after retiring. I'm 61, and living in Toronto; I could easily retire right now if I sold our house and moved to PV! But I don't plan to do that, since we have 3 kids and 2 grandkids here in Toronto. However, I will be done there for 1 month this coming winter, and maybe in a few years we will start spending the whole winter, when I enter 'semi-retirement' mode. In terms of your expenses, you only used gasoline as your car expense. I gather you own your car, but what about insurance and maintenance/repairs on the car?
