Andrew you have helped to increase my 7 iron from 155 to 165 in 2 days by keeping my body closed and just swinging the club. Still have a little fade from time to time but most are straight or just a little draw. I am 61 and have just got back into golf after 20 year hiatus. Please keep the videos coming. Need help with putter. Lol
Absolutely agree with your description Steve - I reckon it takes about "3 watches" for each video to get the concept and then being able to execution (in your mind) of the drill for the range - Andrew's videos are exceptional and I am already seeing improvements and, most of all, gaining confidence in consistency! Brilliant tutoring Andrew ... John in the UK
I recently learned the L to L swing which has given me a great foundation but it threw off my my timing. You added so many important detail that I needed. I tend to hit behind the ball and don’t rotate my hands enough to close the face enough at impact which gives me a bit of a slice. Thank you. I look forward to watching more tutorials. Sheri.
Andrew, that is so interesting what you said about dragging the handle through impact. I just watched a video that demonstrates the truth of your comment. There is a video of Danny Maude getting a lesson from Peter Cowen on dragging the handle through impact (Danny was trying to control his flight path with this method). Danny is an elite athlete and he was having trouble with body release/drag handle method. If a guy with his ability was struggling, it’s pretty bleak for the rest of us.
This sounds great in principle. I've tried slinging the club but hit behind the ball often...very frustrating. I feel my right hand is constantly trying to overpower my swing motion.
You’re likely conflating your wrists with your arms!! Have a look at this video ⬇️ I’m hoping it will help you understand the role of the arms! Especially the lead arm - It has to work forward and come off your chest through the ball. It’s also essential that you “allow” your arms to employe your body dynamics!! A lot of people hit at the ball which freezes your dynamics. Low point never moves forward etc. Best, A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻 ruclips.net/video/aUovXHyj-CM/видео.htmlsi=9YWKtfHeZZWkBlKQ
Be careful with weight ‘transfer!’ I shift pressure dynamically but it’s more of a kinesthetic response than a conscious shift. Simply step off your trail foot as you swing through the ball. Match up your arm swing to your footwork. See below! ⬇️ ruclips.net/user/shortsednbK3YRvqk?si=v09Rghe_SHv0bzfQ
This is the toughest thing with the grip, making sure it’s firm so you don’t lose the club, but too much you feel that shoulder tension. And when you find that sweet spot WOW!
Hi Andrew, I like your teaching method similar to Manuel Le da Torre with a little bit more detail. With your swing fundamentals is there a problem if the left arm is on or below the shoulder line Kind regards
No Sir, a lot of people don’t have the mobility to elevate their arms correctly! The trick is not spinning the body in transition. Allow your arms to employe your body, feel like your shoulders face the ball at impact and don’t drag the handle! Save the ‘supported’ release for pitches, and punch shots. Best, Coach A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
The old masters had it right, they realized how tension destroys a golf swing, tension slows everything and keeps you from releasing your hands and body, the snap and jump up is essential to a powerful swing. Good job A.
You are on a roll Coach! Do you find that mid-size grips help or hurt tension? (Regardless of change in swing weight or concerns about limiting vibration at the cost of "feel")
David, if you’re a L/XL glove size then midsize for sure! But midsize isn’t well suited to golfers with smaller hands - They won’t be able to actuate the club! Bottom line - Find what works best for you! Best, Coach A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
How do you consistently get the arms/club to decelerate so the hands and clubhead release and sling through? Do the closed shoulders automatically do that? Thx Andrew.
You have to dis-associate your arms from the spin phase in the transition. Swing the club head and you’ll create more speed with less effort! Allow your body to respond and you’ll be more consistent. Best, Coach A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
So no pulling the handle at all from the top to start the downswing? Just trying to delineate between slinging it while twisting the grip end vs casting from the top. Great lessons…Thanks!
If you’re a closed face golfer then club face facing the sky works great! A neutral grip requires more twist and rotation! Find a release that works best for you! It’s not the same for everyone. Best A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
I've been working on dropping the hands and from last parallel when I start to sling I feel like I don't strike it well and thin and top the ball. When I feel I release earlier than last parallel I strike it better. Any thoughts what might be going on? Thanks for the video
Trail arm is likely unpacking better!!! You’re likely increasing your verticals and improving your radius as a result! Feels v Reals!! Best, Coach A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻

Great visuals of the golf swing..pure gold! Thanks Coach A! MikeR.
Thanks Mike!! 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
Yes - another video that I will need to put on repeat as I work through the mechanics and feel -- then to the range. Thank You!
You’re welcome! Get after it!

Thanks Sheri, I’m glad the video helped you better understand how to release the club! Best, A.🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
Thank you for this lesson, Kostis and Jacobs both successfully taught this method for amateurs.

Great video. The slinging concept is very helpful for me. Quiet the body down in transition and get the club moving down on plane. It works.
Love it!! 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻

@@AndrewEmeryGolf Thanks much Andrew!! I'll check out the video and work on it asap.
good video, What do you do with the weight transfer to the left leg in the downsing?

Is slinging the club different from cracking the whip with the club? Are they two different ways of saying the same thing?
I like to say that slinging is felt earlier in the transition while cracking the whip refers to the release. Best, A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻

Chocolat teapot..like it.
🤣🤣🤣
A chocolate teapot is actually a good idea 😊
Good luck with that!! 🤣🤣🤣
I often think it should be called a sling instead of a swing!
I like that!! 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻

"As useful as a chocolate teapot" is a good one. Where I'm from we would put it "useful as tits on a boar" .
Nothing like a good colloquial expression to drive a point home!!!
